I've had an abcess on the bottom of my foot before. Can confirm getting treated is by far the worst pain I've ever experienced and can't imagine anything worse than that. The whole emergency room heard me screaming when they operated. But damn the relief the cows feel afterward must be amazing! Oh, I'm not a cow. You're a hero dude!

I know you probably won't see this, but, your videos have really helped me the past few months. I have been going through chemotherapy for a retinal blastoma(a cancerous tumor in my eye) and actually just got home from my fourth treatment to it. I'm a pretty rare case too! normally retinal blastomas are found in really little kids, but I'm 17. Anyways, once I saw the notification that you uploaded, I just had to watch. Yikes. We had a small farm with longhorns and angus. We were always scanning the fields for such things. Unfortunately fencers we hired often left old fencing remnants behind. Thankfully they were never in the feet but rather elsewhere. Wrapped around heads and bodies or legs. It’s so awful how much damage even the smallest piece can do so much damage

I fell into your site by accident about 4 months ago and I keep coming back to it. Now I am a city dweller and don't know zip about cows but I am learning a ton about them from you. While the trimming part is fascinating it is your knowledge that keeps me coming back. When you explain something I am amazed at the depth of your understanding and, even more, how long it must have taken you to acquire it. Now I could never work with cows, they are filthy animals and apparently pretty stupid, but you give each one a personality which makes watching much more enjoyable. So thanks for the hours of entertainment and understanding you provide.

Ouch! Makes me think this was the kind of thing as to why my grandad always carried a small pair of plyers in his pocket - he always lived on a working farm, raised cows to show through 4-H as a kid, and even judged cattle in college. He passed away last week at the age of 92 and I wish I could have talked to him more about this kind of stuff as we didn't even know about the judging bit until we stumbled on his medallion after the funeral. Thank you for these videos, they are both entertaining and make me feel closer to my family's past - especially now.

Hey Graeme, thank you so much for your videos! Watching yours, and many others' videos have taught me SO much, even to the point I'm starting to notice cows who desperately needs a trimming. What's funny about this is I only raise and breed chickens. I also show them in exhibition poultry shows and I am trying to become an American Poultry Association certified poultry judge. Despite all of this, at my local county fair I noticed that a massive majority of the cattle there had so many issues with their hooves. I live in a small, farming community. Beef and dairy cattle are the second most common livestock that's raised here. The first being swine. So you'd think these people would take better care of their cattle, especially if they're for dairy! If I had the physical strength and time, I would SO learn how to become a hoof trimmer. Thank you so much for caring for these gentle and flighty giants, and thank you for teaching those like myself about this kind of thing, as many of us don't even realize cows, and even horses need this kind of care.

Out of the amazing videos I have watched where there have been major infections, the bull that had the wire was embedded and the blocks you put on his hoofs. One he got out of the crusch (sp) he stopped and turned to view you and I truly believed he was telling you thank you. As a subscriber I want to thank you for all you do for these animals!!

We had problems at my work with stray bits of metal puncturing tires. We finally got a tool to pick that stuff up and it's helped a lot. It looks like an old school push mower, but it's a magnet. You just push it around any area that you think has nails, screws or other metal debris and it picks up most of it. Do the farmers have such a tool? It would be a good investment especially if there's been construction work going on near barns and sheds on the farm.

Amazing how fast they can feel better and heal. I imagine that wire was acting like a lever every time he put weight on it. I guess if he was gonna get tetanus he'd have had it by now. Hope your shots are up to date . Thankyou for sharing.
