Today we finish up the lower link mounts and steering stops for the 3 link on my V8 swapped 1989 Toyota Pickup! Then we FINALLY get to throw the axle under the truck and install some temporary links!

You got any buddies who are into building 4x4’s too? You can do it with a lil help and a just figure it out as you go attitude. Seen so many Toyota’s built in driveways with basic tools and a welder. Also any question you could have could be answered in one of the Toyota truck forums, you tube comment sections, or do it wrong first time and learn from it. Good luck.

@mikehoving6361 Could not have said it better myself. Everything I know is from doing it myself, if its wrong I learn from it and try again. This is true even with this 3 link in the video. I won't know how good it is until after it's done. Forums are a great tool to get general guidelines for builds, but everyone and every rig is different based off the type of wheeling you want to do. Just gotta start wrenching and learn.

Yeah. Everyone should have one in their garage! But I realize it's not super budget friendly to go buy a ArcDroid. But hey maybe I'll sell all my files for guys to get cut out if this works out.

Coming along! Have you decided on coilovers? I went with Fox 2.0 remote resi 14”. Springs are 100/250. I have about 4” up and 10” down without binding. Lower link is 44” eye to eye.

This is possible on the side without the pumpkin, but not on the pumpkin side. I did manage to clear my steering stops just fine though

I did something very similar when building / welding on the custom set up for my solid axle ae86 drift car, although the aim is a little different since the purpose was to create points similar to traction bracket kits and move the panhard mounting point for a very low ride. I had a old pair of shocks I drilled out to keep the axle roughly in place, than would articular the movement of the axle with a jack for the pan hard mount location.

Equal length arm retain pinion angle if the top is shorter it'll increase pinion/caster angle if the top link is longer it'll decrease pinion angle if front and back of the arms are mounted the same distance top link to bottom link

I'm surprised you didn't rotate the knuckles for driveline angle if your keeping the low pinion. No judgement, I'm too scared to do mine without a spare housing and the high pinion mostly fixed front shaft rattle. Also, I don't remember seeing your triple stick shifter before. Do you have an old video on that? I got the northwest fab trident ($$$) because it was the nicest I could find (mostly lower profile), but I'm always interested in other solutions. My triples are actually just a modified TG double. And as I mentioned in this video, most decisions I'm making are based off repeatability. So if I make a kit out for someone I don't want them to have to cut and turn the knuckle balls.
