Hey Richard a small forge would let you venture into your handmade knives along with a grinder and buffer but be very careful how your blade is turned when using a buffer because it can grab it and throw it out of your hand good luck

Richard be careful fueling those plastic fuel cans in the bed of your truck. The static electricity from no ground can be very dangerous. Put them on the ground before filling them.

That’s me to Richard I’m learning how to work with metal more and more , the more you can do on your own the less you have to depend on others and it’s cheaper lol. I’m in the market for a welder now for that purpose. Love the video.

Hi Richard. You said about getting a small welder, I have purchased a small Flux core welder from Harbor Freight for small jobs and I have to say it works great. It runs off 110. I have a better Mig welder with a gas bottle for bigger jobs. The welder ar Harbor Freight is called " Titanium Easy-Flux 125. It's on sale right now for $147.99 was $179.99. You might want to check into it. Thanks for another video.

Good morning Richard, sure looks good around there. I picked me up a clear face shield and I hang it up near my grinder and wear it when using the polishing wheel or the wire wheel even though I wear glasses. Can't have too much protection. Looks like you got a good set up going for you. Thanks for sharing with us, stay safe and keep up the fun around there. Fred.

I was going to reply the same thing. Those wire wheels shed wires occasionally and you don't want to take one to the eye!

Yes, my dad was a butcher at Safeway in the 50’s. He always told me that nothing will cut you faster than a dull knife. Our knives around the house were always really sharp.

He’s absolutely right I’ve not only done it myself, but I’ve seen other people do it and you just cringe thinking what if that thing slipped. I almost ran a screwdriver through the palm of my hand one time pushing down on it while trying to loosen a screw. I’ll never do that again.

I actually thought about those looking at a tool it’s made similar for log transports. I seen a set of those in the antique shop and I thought to myself the principal is the same. So I bought a set and sure enough they were maybe not as good, but they work

I am trained in working with metal. Am the handicaped guy in Youngstown Ohio. Since one is replacing the saw blades in the circular saws how about saving the older blades! Set them aside some where for repurposing them. They can be made into knives and other stuff. i wanted to meet up with one's nighbor too. Did not know that his wife was sick. On ebay how about ordering a used book on metal working? The older books are just as good as newer ones too. The machinery mannual is good to have too. The print is smaller in these large volumes. I get a page maginifyer to read them up. The used machinery mannual is still good. The section on heat treating meal is a good referance too. The section on tools is very good. The handsaws can be sharpened with files too and every other tooth of the blade may need to be bent out some. I have resharpened some of the circular saw blades too. This takes a while to do. I have a lot of tools here that I am not able to use. Some are electric, some are hand tools ect. Some are brandnew some are battery ect. I cannot bring any of them to one. I have two machinists tool boxes with tools in them. I have a lot of railroad spikes to make up some knives with. A forge etc. I just don't wan to give it all away. I got a set of walkie talkies too. One for one one for Jennifer. I got the tools for me to use to actually build me a cabin or work with some wood too. Had to get them one at a time. I have the a welder too. And an good air maker and a generator. Have a smaller good new generator too. Have a roofing nailers and framers and staplers. And the air tank for that too. I got a harbor freight cut off saw. In the basment is a press and cutt off circular saw. I don,t feel good with the low blood sugar. Am having problems of just tasting food right now too. Oh about that grinder, I have another idea about that. How about looking on facebook marketplace in one's area. And actually look up good usa tools online and see who is selling them. A craftman grider will do a good job too only used. Grinders have stands for them too. I have the polish for the metal too, just not sure where the stuff is at. Yet, one can find really good tools and stuff cheaper that are top named stuffed too. The harbor freight stuff will get one buy, yet, this to me is not the best route. It took me a long time to read out of the machinery mannual on how to take care of tools. To oil up my tools and so forth. Yet the machinery mannual is a good one to have. Drill can be sharpened too on the grinders. Today I can get by with all used stuff I don't have to have new anymore. The older tools will last longer than today's stuff. I made up my own work bench at home too. Try to pick up some books on metal working. I have evan pounded out cooper plate too. The machinery mannual is cheaper if picked up used. This will have that section on tools. Very informative too about the care and sharpening and all that about tools. One should see what I did with some old rusty nails from Guss gas station that had burned on down. I picked up the nails and had fun with them. Made me a fancey sword out of a rusty nail and put twists into it too. Coin rings are good to make to get used to bending metal. On quarters and fifty cent pices we heat these up until red and then let them air cool down. This makes them soft or annealled as they say. Then we work them some and then soften them up again until the ring is done. I got a lot of jewlery making stuff too. It is very expensive for this stuff. Jennifer may like to make up some rings as well. Then a trip to the flea market to sell them on the weekends. I pickup used stuff at the flea markets too. The older guys with all the shovels and axes and other tools just talking to them some usually will get a cheaper tools. Have fun. Paul

One of my jobs as a kid living on a farm in Kansas was to gather the eggs (twice a day); my mother would not use eggs that had been exposed to freezing temperature for a number of hours. She believed the yolk in a frozen raw egg lost its utility for use in baking.
@OutpostReview
@OutpostReview 8 месяцев назад
They still taste good, but now I’m curious as to whether if it was below freezing all night and I missed getting an egg or it was laid late that I might need to keep it refrigerated
@terrynida5787

I would eat the eggs, mom thought the change in texture of the yolk compromised the batter she was preparing to bake.

on the gas cans... filling them up in the back of the truck. I was told for safety you should never do that. The reason has something to do with them not being grounded and building up static electric and can cause a spark when they do get grounded. And we know what a spark does around gas fumes. I would have to google to get the details but wanted to at least send out a warning.... just in case. I always pull my cans out of the bed and set them on the ground beside the pump and fill them.

Just wanted to add I got cut worse on dull tools then I have on the sharper one's. Yet, a mora knife got stuck into the palm of my hand and all I heard was squish and this sharp knife was in my plam. Had to pull it back out too. The older diomand blades are good for making stuff out of them too. The older saw round blades can be made into shop clocks. Jennifer may like making these too. Just hope that one doesn't lay any more eggs. Ha Ha Ha. Had me a laughing too. The eggs can be canned too. The eggs can be frozen as well. The homesteading farms and sites on youtube can give one a lot of information on perserving food. They evan Doug and Stacey on youtube eat a lot of sour crout food. They are canot think about what I was to say about these. The food is kind of spoiled some yet it is good for us. Cannot recall the name of this food process. Dough and Stacey on youtube. Apple cider vinigar is good for us too. I take about two teaspoons of this and a lot of water and mix it up and drink it. They built a log cabin for his mom to live on their property too. Stacey is good on a lot of stuff that is good for us to eat. The same process that makes up sour crout is good for other food and this is called fermenting food. It just came to me. Have fun. Paul
