I literally bumped into Thom Yorke in 2003 in a charity shop doorway in Oxford. We did the little synchronised left-right, no you go first shuffle. He was very short and looked pretty annoyed by the interaction. I fucking loved it.
I saw Thom Yorke in a grocery store in LA today. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn't want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, "Oh, like you're doing now?" I was taken aback, and all I could say was "Huh?" but he kept cutting me off and going "huh? huh? huh?" and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw Thom trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like "Sir, you need to pay for those first." At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually "to prevent any electrical infetterence," and then turned around and winked at me. I don't even think that's a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
This song is so comforting when you're tired and fed up with everything. I've listened to this a hundred times and i have no idea what the lyrics are about, i just love how it sounds
This is actually one of his darkest and saddest. The cheery melody is only a facade much in the same wake as no suprises. This song is about the generational trauma of the people who have been or are longing to be set free from the atrocities of the holocaust during WW2. If you've seen the movie it would become more clear.
TheMonsterGroovy I obsessed over this song months before I saw the film. When that scene occurred I smiled and heard that line. “ All is well, as long as we keep spinning.” Now after seeing the film all the hunting lyrics make sense.
I discovered this song whilst in a mental asylum. It reminded me that serenity could be found in madness. Also, at times the system itself is perverse whilst we move in it. It basically saved my life. Fucking beautiful
Not in the same way as David Bowie, Nick cave, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix..And so on, and so on... Right now. But history will remedy that for sure. He and Greenwood will be talked about in schools and university's for sure...
Stunning. Was watching S1 E4 of "Invasion", and at the end, heard this song. It's like nothing I've ever heard before... and it's F'n incredible. This guy's got more musical chops in his left pinky than all the supposed bands of the past twenty years combined. His songs will be played a thousand years from now... and will be just as loved then as now.
Creed It’s officially a re-make but the director has said he doesn’t conceive it as that, but as a re-imagining of it. Probably the production company made it called Suspiria to draw the audience. It seems to be nothing like the original. That masterpiece and style can’t be recreated. The director of the new one seems to acknowledge that and I respect that.
If you watch the trailer for this one it's immediately obvious that it's a pretty different movie. It looks like they kept the most basic aspects of the plot the same but almost everything else should change. I originally was really resistant to the idea of them remaking that movie, but seeing what they've done with it, I am curious to see how it turns out. As someone else said it looks less like a remake and more like a complete re-imagining of the story. I expect there may be one or two homages to the original but the overall style looks nothing like it. I am glad they didn't try to emulate Argento's style because that would just be pointless.
@@JesusGomez-ob2qt Some of it was interesting but overall I didn't like it very much. I didn't dislike it because it was different from the original - I didn't have too much trouble seeing it as its own thing. It just didn't really captivate me, and I found the final act of the film to be rather sloppy and just poor film making. To be fair, the finale of the original is weak compared to the rest of the film too. I do recommend people see it and make up their mind, but for me it was kind of disappointing.
Never listened to Radiohead. Never heard of Thom Yorke before. And today I found a piece of this in a video on tiktok. Instantly loved it, searched and found the whole here on youtube. I never felt like that. Never felt into a song like this but today. Im still crying while listening to it maybe the 30th time. Im lost in this song forever.
keep going. there’s a lot more radiohead and solo work that will give you the same results. i’ve been getting lost in songs for weeks on many occasions.

This the most beautiful song, I’ve ever heard. No other person could sing it the way he did; no other voice will do. Since I first heard it, I’ve listened to it, on repeat, at least a thousand times. I don't think he'd care actually. Radiohead just got inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame and they just went "lol k" They're really not doing this for prizes and I think that speaks volumes on what good musicians really strive for in life
@Jim Bob The powers that be talk about "Shallow" from "A Star is Born" as a shoe-in to win. But it sounds so generic, indistinct and imperfect compares to anything any member of Radiohead has come up with for 24 years.

Thom Yorke llegó al punto de que uno reconoce su musica, porque vuelve a ese estado de sentirse como flotando en un lugar frio y oscuro, pero a la vez, calido y reconfortante.

Completely underrated song, completely underrated film. Very disappointed by the low reviews on IMDB etc., this film is fantastic (so long as you can find subtitles).

@@raphdop4954 I actually liked this better then the original. In a Press Conference the film actors said it was a Cover, similar to when a band does a cover of a fav band. Its meant to not be exactly identical. I'm glad they made this cover!

Ive had this in my playlist a long time... but listening again years later... all I can say is "wow" his ability to switch between major and minor chords is haunting... 2:20... beautiful.
I love how it sounds slightly familiar. Thom, and Radiohead in general, are really a part of my life now and listening to Thoms voice makes me feel like home. We are lucky for being alive while all of this is happening...
I’ve been listening to his music for 23 years. He has never, never, never disappointed me. Every fucking time a new song of his is released it fills my heart with joy and my skin with goose- bumps.
I've always believed the piano was where Thom really was the most beautiful and creative sometimes in the simplest of ways. Pyramid Song, Like Spinning Plates, Codex to name a few. Sit Down Stand Up is masterful.. to be able to sing like that and still keep the piano in rhythm with the electronic beat is otherworldly. One of my all time favorite songs, and one of Radioheads most underrated as well.
This is my first introduction to Thom Yorke.. I'm almost paralysed by it. A fan of Bjork, Siouxsie Sioux, Crystal Castles, The Legendary Pink Dots, The Doors, The Cure, Led Zepellin and Pink Floyd..and too much more.. Where have I been lol? Just glad I made it. Magnetically Magestic on the ears and soul.

Thom York is definitly a gifted muscian, one of the best musicians ever and it's easy to see how much he contributed to radiohead. He's a real gift to our world and a reminder for everyone how importent it is accepting human beings since Thom himself has a small handycap.

The more I think about this movie, the more I realize how good it really was. Outstanding performances by all. Tilda S - incredible. Dakota J ...we will see her again at awards ceremonies. The cinematography was dead perfect. And of course this hauntingly beautiful song that never lets you go.

This song isn’t the most complex in terms of chords; the piano just does arpeggios. But it’s so beautiful and Thom’s voice and the flutes compliment the music perfectly
Thom Yorke - Suspiria LA listening The score was amazing. About 5 or 6 of the tracks were songs with vocals and all. There is a second version of ‘Suspirium’ with guitar and more electronic elements. I preferred it over the single version that was just released. There is one track with lyrics about “taking a bird under his wing”, and I personally believe that was one of the best songs he has ever written. The piano chords and his vocals/lyrics were so beautiful. There is a track that felt like it could fit on Kid A. It had a groovy bass line with pounding drums.

The first and only song I've ever found that has me inconsolably sobbing every time, I can't hold back the tears at all. The melody both nurturing and yet somehow unscrupulous. Coincided, by design, to convey terror and comfort. Great movie, and the soundtrack is the beating heart stitched into the whole endeavor.
Thom helps me feel feelings I've never felt before or havent felt in ages. It's like being in love, but deeper, stronger. And then again its not, its a walk through a forest you've never walked. Theres a surprise behind every tree.

I can't say this about any other Thom or Radiohead head song, and I absolutely adore them.. This song broke the mold for me by being a love at first listen. Usually his songs take awhile to grow on me. This masterpiece however, I was instantly hooked. Definitely in my top 10 of most beautiful songs I've ever heard ❤
my thoughts exactly, it's only 'till very recently that I've discovered Thom Yorke this year-and i adore all of his songs. even when i know it isn't _exactly_ my taste (tonally/musically speaking, can't really summarize what i mean briefly, but basically there's a certain set of instruments, key signatures, pitches-certain _details_ that make up a song that _really_ draw me in), his songs eventually grow on me. in fact, i'm pretty sure his songs at first didn't "click" with me, but i remember giving his songs a listen _again_ when i stumbled upon this song... and, well-similarly to you, i instantly fell in love with this song. finally, i'm taking a jab into Radiohead songs (abysmally late to the party-i know lol)-it's slowly becoming one of my new favourite bands and i'm mentally scolding at myself of how i never bothered to listen to him and Radiohead sooner! but hey, better late than never.

Ahhhh takes me back to when they released Burn the Witch. I must have listened to that a million times before the second single dropped. Then it was nice to add a second song to the mix.
Played this just once for my 83 yr old mother and she loved the unique chord structures. It hooked me in one playback also. Unique songwriting... what a gift.

Thom Yorke and The Radioheads are surely a certainty for Best Newcomers 2018. You can hear how much they were influenced by Coldplay and Muse in most of their songs.
I hate how people called this movie convoluted and so complicated. Not every movie has to be so cut and dry. There can be mystery, there can be a proper amount of padding, and this movie handled all that so well. It was a sleeper hit imo. A true standout piece that can join hereditary and the other great and beautiful horror movies that are snubbed every year at the Oscars because “horror movies are cheap”.

This deserves the Oscar for best song more than any tune from A Star Is Born... if you listen closely to the lyrics, it actually explains a lot of the film's bizarre plot.
No one else has ever as accurately captured the feeling of desperate, devastating, desolation. I love all of Radiohead’s albums & I can safely say this is one of the most beautiful, haunting pieces that Thom has ever composed. It’s one of my favorite songs of all time, & I’ve never been the same since I first heard it. I could die to this song.

Im listening to it over and over again since the day it came out.I can now say it's one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. I did not search for lyrics in any song until very recently, prefer to translate their meaning by half understood english and the music/mood. If the art is true, it finds a way to talk to you across boundaries. Can you point a westerner to something similarly beautiful in korean culture?
this song, as well as the movie, is a warm hand on my cheek. I love horror, but never have I felt this love and comfort and awe. i watched suspiria (both versions back to back) around the beginning of initial quarantine and it will long remain my all-time favorite
