Kelly Albright is a star. Not once did I think of Sutton during this performance. Outstanding. Her little "boo-do-de-o" was so adorable, too. Absolutely fabulous.
Not just anyone can sing Millie, that's true, but let's not exaggerate. Vocally, Millie is just another belter. The list of roles that actually are vocally demanding (Aldonza, Luisa, Rose [edit: Vibert], Cunegonde, Florence, etc.) goes on and on, and they expose this material as relative child's play aspired to by junior-high "theatre kids."
conceded much... gosh... i mean my school is doing this to, but ours will be better because we're an arts school ;) and i doubt that a bunch of middle schoolers will be better singers than professionals
My school is doing this (Middle School) and i agree with everyone who says this is horrible,my school I already know is going to do a better job. Watch my video of me singing this song and tell me how I do. Thx!
Ick...this is not a very nice production at all. The girl playing Millie is certainly trying her best, but she’s not getting any help from the ugly costumes, the snooze inducing ensemble members or the shoddy “orchestra” that sounds like one guy playing one of those cheap Walmart keyboards that make all of the instrument sounds. Was this really a professional production?
