The only bits that threw me off were the police shenanigans. As far as I know, police can't take away your shat without a warrant, and for that, they need a probable cause; the same goes for "arresting a person of interest". As my old teacher used to say: " Good fiction must be grounded by reality". Narration 10/10

Just because the story ends before it happens doesn't mean our hero died, he simply could've decided that the story didn't need further updating if it was just supposed to be a record of what happened to him if he lost. For all we know, he won and cleared his name while becoming the discoverer of an entirely new species, netting himself town hero status. Also, biology breakdown on the monster when? I'm curious to know how one that big would be able to exist IRL.

My first thought with a spider would have been an ogre-faced / net-casting spider. I mean, they got anime eyes.

Simple fix to the situation. Check in to local hotel. Even a small town should have something. Stay there. People will be watching, it's a small town & he's now juicy gossip. Animals or people go missing, he's still in the hotel room. Helps his case.

This is a incredibly interesting story. As I didn’t pay attention to the video itself, the revelation that the monster of this story is actually a giant jumping spider is incredibly cool. While the writing is far from perfect (I ain’t the brightest tool in the shed but I don’t think cops will rob you of everything for being a crackpot and “umm I’m a introvert (touches fingers)” isn’t that enjoyable.) it is still really fun. I figured this would be your dime a dozen skinwalker story but I was pleasantly surprised

Turns out the guy just had a oncoming case of psychosis and the police made their arrest at 3AM since he was outdoors with a knife when "the creature" was suppose to be roaming in his yard lmao

If I was that man and realised it was a spider, I would’ve died on the spot.

These stories always have some crazy extra details that are meant to add horror context but they're always details that would be impossible for the story teller to know given the circumstances unless they were the writer creating lame details.

I only listened to the story and avoided the warning but honestly this was a shake up I was expecting skinwalker or wendigo or something but that whole huge twist of what it was really got me hooked

I hate how much the guy in this story is exactly me in every aspect. From way of thinking, mannerisms, habits to creature comforts. I'm even an aspiring writer myself about to write my first book... I guess I won't look outside at night for a while...

You know, it's ironic that the moment you said "I'll write a book, how hard can it be?" My mind INSTANTLY flashed back to my last year of high school... And the greatest lesson I've had yet in regards to teamwork and patience, learnt the hard way. Gotta love it when you forget to proofread before self-publishing *facepalm*

"I think the stupidest thing I ever said is: "I think I'll write a book. How hard can it be?" Aaand that's where I paused the video and laughed myself almost sick. You poor, sweet summer child. You will agonize over a single word that doesn't sound right. You'll get moments where you think the last ten chapters are completely wrong for the story and pull them out and put them aside in disgust in hopes you can salvage them later for a different story. Three months later you'll scream cuss words at yourself, grab those ten chapters and shove them BACK in because you just made everything not make sense after taking them out and it took three damn months to realize it. Then you'll have to edit around the front and end of those ten chapters to get them to fit back in seamlessly. You'll scream, you'll cry, and if you're not using Google Docs, which saves instantly, you ill also lose four hours of typing work because you forgot to save. Writing can let thoughts and ideas spill out of your head and onto paper in amazing ways. It can also be a slow slide into frustration because even though you spell and grammar checked ten times, you'll find MORE errors on the eleventh check that somehow hid from you. Welcome to insanity; it's VERY hard.

The man should have left, if you see a large dog sized spider, you leave, also post what you saw online, without giving away who you are, some people will think you faked it, but others will be interested, and search for it, hell if it’s popular enough it could end up on the news, it wouldn’t be the first time a supernatural or crazy unrealistic thing was reported on the news.

If he had his weapons, it would have been more reasonable for the MC to have tried to get proof of the spider's existence. He would have had a reasonable chance of defending himself without injury. Without weapons though? Fucking suicide. Basically served him up on a silver platter. Not only that, but unless there was clear evidence of a struggle, with enough of his blood left behind to assume he was either dead or too injured to have fled on his own, his disappearance before his arrest and the continued disappearance of other animals and townspeople afterwards would only cement him as the main suspect, and the spider would remain undetected until enough trusted people directly witnessed and reported its existence. The smartest thing the MC could have done, was allowed himself to be arrested, and sit in a jail cell for a while, until all evidence once again could not be linked to him. During this time, the disappearances would continue, which would very obviously clear him. And even if the police still didn't believe his theory of a giant spider, they'd at least be more willing to believe some normal large dangerous animal was out there killing people and pets.

Man, I hate these cliffhanger stories. It's a nice setup, but that's all it is, the story has yet to begin. Sure, it's realistic that the story ends prematurely, but it's not nearly as satisfying as a full-length story.
