Thanks for the video. Just ordered mine in mahogany brown. Production time is 3-6 weeks. I own a pair of Allen Edmonds cap toe dress shoes…they are 20 years old and still look amazing. This is my first pair of AE boots. On a sidebar, I had a terrible experience with Thursday Boots. The original pair had defects. After an exchange, the second pair were also defective. Sent them back and received a refund. I’m hopeful the AE boots are as amazing as my AE dress shoes. Thanks so much for your informative review!
Received the AE boots today. One of the eyelets has a sharp edge. The boots had scratches from the eyelet right out of the box. The welt on the right boot is misaligned. Very disappointed. I’ll be contacting AE tomorrow.
Great video. You are the only person I've seen who has reviewed this boot on RU-vid. I have two pairs of the Landon boot and 2 pairs of the Higgins Mill boots. I love the Landon in Mahogany and light suede. They work great with business casual and they take a shine very well. Thank you for showing the Olive color as I have been looking at that and the Carbon color. Sizing wise I wear a 9EEE in both the Higgins and Landon boot and both fit better than any other boots I own. Kudos.
Finally! A review of the Landon boot. I have a pair in size 10D. I usually wear a 10.5 so I did the opposite of you. There was too much room in the toe for me. My only issue with them is the heel. Going down half a size means the heel is a tad tight on the right. I don’t notice it much after wearing them for a couple of hours. Overall your review is spot on. Great job.
I’m also a 10.5 in the Higgins and 10.5 E is 65 last. After trying on in store, I was told to go down to 10D in the Landon. Store associates know it runs big. It depends if you are only going to wear dress socks or thick socks. I haven’t worn them out yet, but the Landon feels tight around the ankle. I hope it breaks in some. Still alright Don? Or should I swap out?

Great video and commentary! I’m fortunate enough to have easy access to a handful of AE storefronts in the major city I live near. I’m a 8.5E on the 65 last but a 9D in HM and Freeport boots yet for the Landon and Liverpool/Dalton boots I’m a 8.5D and 9E respectively. I’m currently debating if the Landon or HM will be my next purchase. Which one do you find grabbing more, the Landon or HM?
@@chalkboardshoes they came in - absolutely beautiful. In fact, I liked them so much also bought the Liverpool Chelsea boot in the same color. AE is discontinuing Olive for both styles and fortunately was able to get my size ordered bf they ran out. Besides leather conditioner, I noticed AE doesn’t have a cream polish to handle scuffs etc. What do you do you use for yours? Thanks
@@chalkboardshoes I live in LA and wear boots 3/4 of the year. The climate is probably why I prefer leather soles - I really dislike dainite. Cheers, thanks for the video!
