mine arrived last week, break in complete. they're still available on deep sale now. i think $225. i was very pleasantly surprised. thanks for this video!
I have and really enjoy these boots. The weirdness on the back stay is always covered by my trousers so I could take it or leave it. A very comfortable boot!
From what I have seen. Bench welt is their catchall for the boots with traditional makeup including cork filling and standard gyw construction with less composites. Speed welt and feather welt reduce leather omit cork filling completely and use fiberboard foam plastic and so forth which make it lighter. They are all technically gyw technique.
excellent review of a pair of beautiful boots. I have Landons and they are incredibly comfortable with almost zero break in compared to my Grant stones. Cheers!
This was an amazing watch. It was very informative. The best part was the end in which you compare them to similar brands and offering. Comparing both quality and pricing.
I ordered these and expect their arrival this Thursday. I already own the Higgins Mill in Light Brown Suede. Very excited, however, if price had been no issue, I would be wearing Grant Stone Diesels instead. Sale price on clearance was $219.
really well done review. i just got these on mega sale from the AE website. mine are firsts but would probably be considered seconds from some other brands that operate a similar price range. just some little knicks and wrinkles that im not really bothered with. they are uncannily soft and comfy out of the box. being able to get a eee width is a huge deal for me. overall, i really like them.
Your videos are superb. I like the detail, in particular, the business side of the business. The business organization HAS an effect on the quality. I own 10 pairs of Allen Edmonds boots. I started with their dress shoes (Park Ave) and have migrated to boots as my footwear needs have changed. I usually buy from the Allen Edmonds Shoe Bank (factory seconds). At $187 - $150 they are a good value. Their full retail prices are a little steep for the quality.
I totally agree about Allen Edmonds' website! I bought a couple pairs for the first time during their Black Friday sale and it was pretty bad. Very hard to navigate on desktop, and a disaster on mobile.
The leather sounds similar to what is used for US desert boots. If it is the proper cleaning tool is a brass bristle bristle brush. Danner sells a brush with both brass and nylon just for those.
Allen Edmonds usually uses a wooden shank if they do use one. Its hit and miss whether they use one, depending on models. I do think the boots use one though.
@@Bootlosophy I've heard this from an AE salesperson "they have gone away from using shanks for most shoes or boots with a 365 GYW" They feel the 365 GYR provides enough support.
Their website and shipping department needs some attention. At least you got the boot that appeared in their website. I ordered a pair of Landon boots, got a box labeled Landon, but their Liverpool boot was inside instead. Their customer service is good at least.
Just grabbed a pair in mahogany at the same price! Definitely a bit leaner than Higgins and the arch support (or lack of it) really is the worst part, especially in a 13EEE.
I always wondered what the saying was about considering it wasn’t in the earlier videos. In the end it’s Teik’s channel and if he feels it’s important to be in the video so be it. You can always fast forward 5 seconds.
I agree. I was subscribed. Unfortunately he lost me with the political victim hood mentality he is enabling. He seems like a very nice person, but I thought I came here for boot reviews.
