Just to add a tip for whoever is reading: You can unlock the Perfected Heavy Armor set from one of the journeysteps. This is a great armor set for thralls, since it gives more armor than your regular heavy armor, and all the pieces give +5% Agility AND +5% Strength (if crafted with a T4 armorer, preferably a shieldwright ofcourse). If you use this armor for your thralls, you remain a bit more flexible with what weapons you can give it. There are min/max sets for strength and agility, but I prefer the Perfected Heavy set for my thralls. Great vid!
Thank you Wak for putting out another video that thoroughly explains what each stats for thrall is about. I started playing Conan when Age of Sorcery Chapter 1 was released and I am still playing the game today. Your videos have helped me to learn a lot about the game. Things that I learned in Age of War: For lower level, it is probably best to knock out a T3 Dafari or Exile fighter first. After that, it is a good idea to try to get your hands on a Cannibal Brute, Ritualist, or Thugra. Players on my server have gotten Brutes with 100% growth rate in BOTH Strength and in Vitality. They are squishy when you get them, but does a monstrous amount of damage at level 20. Bearers are also a good option. When playing at a higher level, getting the Berserkers from Mounds is still a great option if you plan to do some purges. They start out with 2600hp with great damage. Pretty good right out of the box. The best way to get Named Archers/Fighters, Dancers and Bearers is to do a purge. Doing Level 8, 9 and 10 purges will give you the best thralls. Crafters are unavailable though. Important: Always put your defense into testing with a level 1 purge and slowly move up from there. The easiest way to defend against a purge is to use "Fence" or "half wall" to make a long choke point and have 10 - 20 Berserkers to guard the exit of the choke point. One thing that I noticed is that the Fences(half wall) seem to mess up the pathing for the Purge A.I. They would somewhat get stuck on their own inside the choke point. On the other hand, they move swiftly through normal walls and Door frames, and it would just be a bloodbath when that happens. Be ready to lose thralls when testing out with the new purge, which is why I recommend using Berserkers(level 0) for defense as they can be easily replaced.
Nice video Wak. Glad you showed us how this works. My biggest takeaway is the vitality for the thralls! I've lost several thralls recently with all the changes. However, I love the ability to reroll the thralls perks. That makes getting the higher vitality much easier. Thanks.
Thank you for putting out this info, there's so much misinformation in the community because most people don't understand the various hidden stats/multipliers!
Growth percentages are not truly random. Catch the same guy enough and you will start to see patterns, pets show obvious manipulation with some of their growth locked at the 40% minimum. Something noteworthy is that adding the growth from each stat will always give you the same number for that faction: some factions even get enough points to have a chance at 100% growth in two attributes!
Yeah, I have noticed that certain factions tend to get higher % in specific stats@@Mister_Peppers , but there are also hard caps: the Relic Hiunter Treasure Seekers could not get more than 80% growth in agility (last year, have not tested this year).
@@MadPirateShini have notice hykerian and shemite archers of all factions got a bump to their ranged multiplier. This includes rhts (#10 and 12 i think). I had to spawn them to see what their models were and they were indeed hyk and she.
I've noticed that when leveling my thrawl, they usually get positive perks more than negative when I have well-trained active over war party. Once you have them to 20, switch to war party and have fun but know they will not have those extra HPs from well-trained.
Thank You!!!! Finally the DEETS!!! THANK YOU! As a popular CE content creator, it's great that this info is finally laid bare for more people Sorry if you saw my annoying comments about this before.
Bonus information: the stat grow rate indentifies how likely it is to get a +1 on the stat, but after this gain there is a second gain roll at half the grow rate. A thrall with 100% vita grow will get +1 vita per lvl for sure and a 50% chance to get another +1. If you boost it to the max, (100%+14%) you have a 57% chance to get +2 vita per lvl.
yes I have seen this damage bug with bows lately to. you can see the hit register and do nothing, sounds like with your testing it is actually 1 damage but still a waste.
@4:50 you should also clarify that archer/fighter has no impact on being better in melee/ranged... simply put it does not matter in game. Give an agility archer a bec-de-corbin and they will be deadly with it, should they have have enough agility... or even better get any named bearer with heartsblood or the festering one and they will live long enough to kill anything, because of their crazy health, plus have the slots to carry your loot after the fight ;)
Great video, TY. What happened with accuracy? That used to be thing. My brutes eg. I don't give them bows anymore cos the last time checked (on beta) they seemed to miss a lot whereas the dragoon archer guy hardly ever missed. I doubt accuracy would've been removed entirely from the game because of the mechanics it was tied to that are still in the game.
Thanks for the info. I just don't understand why I need a certification in trigonometry , to make graphs, 20 sheets of paper and 5 hrs to figure out all these stat numbers for thralls. Damn you Funcom! *shaking my fist*
Nice Video. Also, correct me if I am wrong, but thralls aren't affected by stamina. That's why I ignore Grit and just let them wear heavy armor. The more armor you have, the less another point gives. 1000 armor is 80% damage reduction already, a few points from grit doesn't change that. (math could be slightly off)
Grit is more than stamina. Grit grants your thrall bonus armor value. Each thrall has a hidden grit ratio where they gain specific amount of armor per grit point. For example a thrall with 10 grit points and 100 bonus grit armor listed in the stat attributes window has a 10 modifier to grit.
Hi, so I just need to ask you… If I’m leveling up a thrall on strength, and it has a very very low agility… would that affect on how the thrall will behave when fighting!? I mean… coz when thralls are low level they tend to be pretty clumsy and inconsistent… does agility has something to to with it!? Or is it purely for the “agility weapons” thing!?
all things being equal one Eina the Light and a camel mount are all I need. Authority. SkeloMaster armor. ?Bow? Venomed Daggers. Keep her in Guardian Armor. Upgrade as you can. every thing dies with 20 stacks ov bleed 10 stacks ov poison and 5 stacks ov sunder. Apply. Wittle. Dodge. Repeat. Home defense is Crom's Rest Home for Troubled Berserkers. (archers and melee) recently opened a Cannibal Recovery Camp Crom's Blade tames the hunger.
So when you're talking about you want to level your thrall up in this or that you make it sound like you can control manually what stats a thrall goes up in but you cannot. When they level it puts points in their stats based on that percentage. Unless there's something I'm absolutely missing which I would highly appreciate being told
Feeding them specific foods will boost the growth % of various attributes. For humans: gruel increases STR growth by 14%, while the grilled steak increases VIT growth by 14%. You have to get them to eat after each level, since the leveling ‘uses’ the increase. Certain foods will over-write the increase from other specific foods, so try to keep your follower on a strict diet.
So... how exactly this damage modifier work? I was certain that it was it that determin how much % increase you get per SRT/AGI point, you say it is somethink diferent And that it is important. But... how does it work???
not exactly true. Because the faster you kill an enemy the less time they have to kill you back. The tankiest thralls with all the points in vitality and grit take far too long to kill something. They might take 100+ hits from the thing you are trying to kill. Where as a high damage thrall with a little health might only take 10 hits in the time it takes to kill. The only exception to this, is if you plan on doing all the damage. In that case a very tanky thrall is fine while you beat on the enemy.
@@highcommander2007 Through a bit of playtesting (not extensive, I don't really care enough to truly Min/Max) I don't find too much difference between the innate melee damage bonus for the thrall with the small percentage upgrade from a combat stat, however the armour and health bonuses tend to, at least to me, provide a more tangible benefit, than a few extra points of damage on whatever weapon they're wielding. That being said, It's a game, play the way you want to. Enjoy it the way you like! The opinion I have expressed above above is subjective.
@@altakiri4001very true. Most people play it differently and all manage to get done what they need too. Its really only for like 2 bosses that having a min-maxed thrall makes staggering difference. rest will get by with buffs / food
So I went on a mission for black ice, I took my strongest thrall (level 14) T3, I make it near the mountains and decided to swim across the water to access the mountains, as soon as we touched land we were attacked by 6 npc’s, killed 3 the 3 that were on my thrall he killed one and the other 2 finished him I ended up diving back in the water and fleeing in terror, I marked that location on my map I will avenge him…I was able to sneak past that area and did find some black ice, has nothing to do with this video, but I need to level my thralls better so here I am
Good luck Bro. I lost about 2 or 3 level 20 Thralls. Oh it sucks. Almost every time is because if I die they will bug out and just stand there while getting beat up. I lost a Level 20 to the Dredd Cannibals which normally my Thrall will destroy them all herself. But I died goofing off and ran back as fast as Possible but was 5 seconds to late. I scene her just standing there not fighting back at all with about 6 Cannibals beating her up. Made it 5 ft from her but she died. I was so pissed. I figured I'd get back there and she Kill them all or would have left to return to my Base so just a warning. I got a Cimmerian Berserker now at level 20. She's very easy to get because she is alone, sometimes a He. But so far with her Legendary blades she's destroyed everything we came across. Oh and watch that Damn Snake at the Ruin's near the Sink hole in the desert along the river. It poison's you're Thralls so fast. Use Gas arrows. Oh and the last Boss in the Silver mine is brutal also, we had to retreat. But my Thrall and I been going through 3 skull bosses pretty easy so far. The first, second, third, forth main boss been pretty easy. I do feel heart broken after losing my Thrall's and we also get are revenge. We just destroyed all that Underwater city a hour ago. Are Journey sets forth for new danger tomorrow lol. Good luck friend.
Hey Wak, do you know how to get that armor now cuz the guys who sell this are gone? I never found a recipe for it even in the admin panel exist an epic variant of it. I do not want to cheat and spawn it in, but I can not find a way to get that armor, so you or anyone here have any idea?
however, the dmg boost a thrall gets from strength or agility is almost irrelevant compared to its melee or ranged modifier. Thrall dmg is obscure and broken...the "effects" category doesn't even work. not even mentioning how much inferior animals are. Golems seem to fit though, not sure about zombies.
A thrall gains 1, 2, or 3 points in a stat each time it levels. You can give food to help influence (adds 14% chance) which stat that will be. It is still random, unless you have a thrall which has a growth chance of 100% in a stat.
Damage is really important thing.Faster kill enemie -get less damage or even dont get at all.2 Brutes kill arena champion in 3-4 sec and dont get single blow back.Try the same with bearers or zombies, even more then 10k hp each
@wak4863 Then that is something that has changed. I don't have the thralls anymore because I have higher lvld ones, but I've had more than one thrall before that had that perk at either lvl 15 or 20.
6:24 my guy your confusing the fak outta people. Just say there is a STR and AGI modifier for every thrall. Here I am listening to you talk and thinking there's an additional tribe specific 8%/4% in addition to those.
