This was a mixed bag of a camp with things breaking and failing but I have all the things fixed and the tarps sealed now so no more to worry about. I have silicone sealant here at home, it came with the tarp but I never needed it until now it’s the first time it leaked in a good many camps, I will seal that up and the other one and I’ve already patched the air mat. All the best

Thanks for the comment. Gear issues only show you what you need to do better, I will never use my ultralight sleep mat on the ground again for one thing, it’s fixed now but I learned a lesson. All the best

It is very close to being back on the road, it needed a new starter motor and because I had to wait a few months for my mechanic to come and fix it I also had to sign it off the road, now waiting for a new tyres then it can get taxed and moted again and I’ll be back out there

Yeh I have missed my amok so much the past few months. Nice! The 5.0 is awesome, just like the ultralight but in the durable fabric, my favourite is my 4.0 in camo. All the best

Awesome the hennesey line always looked great when I was looking at gathered end hammocks, yeh the flat lay style and fact you can turn around on your side and stomach make the Amok a massive upgrade. All the best

It’s not a scam at all! You can’t tape seal silicone nylon tarps like some other tarps because the tape won’t stick, amok send out the kit to seal every tarp and it’s a step your meant to do yourself as with a lot of other silicone nylon tarps I just never got round to it because it only lets the very heaviest rain thru

@@TimRobson30 I still think it should be done by the manufacturer, it's the same with the Tarp Tent Scarp 1, they charge something like $40 to have it factory sealed. Just my opinion but if I was to spend my hard earned cash on something i'd expect it to be ready to use, but hey that's just me! Haha

@@bewleybrothers yeah they charge that extra because your paying them to set the thing out in a big open floor space that they might not even have and by hand apply the stuff to every inch of the seam and then leave it set up for 12 hours, have you any idea how much extra work that is for a small manufacturer or company run out of small offices, your lucky they only want 40

Yeah most hammocks need a little modification to keep them dry in the rain that’s why most people add drip lines or whoopie slings to there hammocks. The sleeping pad is fixed it comes with a patch kit. All the best

How did you do it, I need to do mine but don’t have floor space, did you do it with the tarp set up or on the ground?

@@TimRobson30 I did it on the ground using same methode on Amok website video straight from the tube on the brush and work it out slowly. Took about 30min, hang over a door for 24hrs. Done mate

I was trying to workout how you did the woopie sling but still confused 😕 😄

@@farid5661 I took the straps out and attached the fixed small loop to the metal buckle left on the amok. I then use the straps as tree traps and then use the marlin spike hitch method to rig the whoopie too the tree. If you need more advice please feel free to ask, but if you need more tips I suggest watch Shug he has a video series on hammock suspension

Your right there it’s good to do now and again to make sure you don’t get caught out. I was ok for ticks this time surprisingly, I always get them at this spot
