Dimitri: Must you continue to conquer? Continue to kill? Edelgard: Must you continue to reconquer? Continue to kill in retaliation? I will not stop. There is nothing I would not sacrifice to cut a path to Fódlan's new dawn! Dimitri: Enough of this madness! This future of yours is built on a foundation of corpses and tears!
I love and hate this line. I LOVE Dimitri's intent - for once you're fighting against the other team you could play as and it makes SENSE (Cough cough fuck you fates). But then Edelgard's lines... could have been way better. Just, if not more, as hypocritical as they are now. But just worded better. I guess the heat of the battle doesn't focus Edel's speech skills lol
@@milesdavis607 Edalgard is a consequentialist. She doesn't judge means, just the ends. Its not hypocritical coming from her, she literally means it-her means justify anything she does in pursuit of them. She doesn't view her actions as something she exactly wants to do-but if Dimitri continues to resist her, he's forcing her to fight him. She just points out that if they wanted to stop the killing, he (and presumably everyone else) could surrender to her point of view.
Dimitri: You will not kill one more soul. You will not steal one more thing. I will not allow it. Here and now, I stand against you! Me: *moves Yuri over to Dedue and steal the vulnary he has on him* Dimitri: Okay but that realy was the last time ok? Me: *moves petra over to Dimitri and steal his vulnary* Dimitri: STOP IT!!
For such short battles they went REALLY hard with this song, same with Paths that will never cross This song made killing "you-know-who" much more emotional
In Silver Snow it's such a bitter tune that shows just how far removed Edelgard has become from Byleth and how far she's willing to go to save the world in her own way. But I'd say it also reflects on how Byleth has failed to protect and/or save his student.
SPOILERS Jeritza "Step back, Mercedes." Mercedes "I won't. This is the path I have chosen. It's the same for you too, Emile. Is it not?" "Someday, we may meet again in another life. Whenever that happens, I hope that we'll remain side by side, always..." Jeriza "My dear sister... I am sorry."
@@MidnightCapricorn2696 I lowkey didn't know it was her younger brother and the moment I heard the line I immediately just went "..are you fucking kidding me?" One of the few times a Fire Emblem game made me cry
I was half asleep. At 3 AM I woke up to drink some water and while I was drinking it suddently came to my mind without a warning or any motivation. Just "Fu*k it, Dimitri on da boat". I spilled the water.
I prolonged the fight by like 8 turns because of the music. It also gave el the chance to crit me when i realized something. Her crit cut in is different then in CF. Shes sad, she doesnt want to fight byleth. They actually made another cut in for her just for this fight.
@@Ninjaananas The final battle anthem "Apex of the World" which is seen by many as the definitive final theme of the Blue Lions since it basically captures everything that the Blue Lions were fighting for while also being heavily related to Dimitri's character arc when you listen to the lyrics, but there is also "The King of Lions" which plays whenever Dimitri is giving a speech in cutscenes and so it is associated with him as well
@Tundra Apex of the World is Edelgard's theme. The only point for it in Azure Moon is that Edelgard is the final boss. Like with Nemesis getting his theme in Verdant Wind and Rhea getting hers in Silver Snow. The Apex of the Wold does not have lyrics. It is based on Season of Warfare whichs lyrics are actually from Edelgard's perspective, hence why the song has the official alternative name Girl of Hresvelg or Lady of Hresvelg. The chanting in The Apex of the World comes from Sothis' theme and can be seen as a connection to the Immaculate One whom you fight in Crimson Flower.
Of the battle themes this one is absolutely the best in the game, maybe the entire franchise. They should have had an animated cutscene of Byleth/Egelgard fighting Dimitri this music fits so well. (It was still an awesome fight tho)
Dimitri Vs Edelgard in his route: Apex of the World heroic music Edelgard Vs Dimitri in her route: Indomitable Will tragic music Guys, there is no conspiracy. The music tells us the story, and Dimitri is the hero, Edelgard the villain.
As much as I love Dimitri, that's a silly way to put it. In AM, Edelgard is the final fight, everything has built up to this moment, and this is your moment of triumph to finally reclaim what's been lost. Sad and tragic music does play after she dies, too. In CF, this isn't the final fight. It's Dimitri getting in the way of Edelgard despite having no chance. He's fighting with everything he's got, and Edelgard doesn't necessarily want to fight him, but they have to. There's no way to have a peaceful coexistence. So it makes sense tragic music plays here.
@@makironi1247 The album has it mislabeled. No biggie though! Edit: Apparently the CD refers to this song as Goodbye King of Delusion, but the in game sound test calls it Indomitable Will. It's not consistent.
@@LousyCreepers Once you play Verdant Wind, you learn that Edelgard is way more delusional than Dimitri. While he got the reason of the Tragedy of Duscur wrong, she got a big chunk of the history of Fodlan wrong, and she thinks she's right because it was a knowledge "passed down from Emperor to Emperor". Calling Dimitri King of Delusion was too exaggerated.
I wanted to save as many people as I could by recruiting everyone for the crimson flower route. I never felt as guilty until we had to fight in the kingdom. Ingrid, Sylvain, and Annette were so worried about betraying their home and fighting their families. Meanwhile Felix: it's ok I'll do it. Me: you're not going anywhere near your father T_T
i thought the tailtean plains battle was already amazing, with the rain and the music. nintendo really said "we can do you one better" when they pulled this out
This is probably my favorite song from this game. This may sound corny, but I often listen to this song when I disappoint myself, like when I procastinate to study. But when I listen to this, I remember my will can be strengthened.
Yeah it's one of my favorites too. It's used in such short battles but they still went all fucking out with this one. It's basically Dimitri's Crimson Flower theme to me. Definitely deserved to be in Smash
🎶🎶I'm on a boat! (I'm on a boat) I'm on a boat! (I'm on a boat) Everybody look at me, 'cause I'm sailing on a boat (sailing on a boat) I'm on a boat (I'm on a boat) I'm on a boat Take a good, hard look at the motherfucking boat, yeah
My quotes if this Soundtrack was my boss battle theme (Crimson Flower Route) Me: So, you've decided to join up forces with Edelgard's army to beat up Lady Rhea? I will stop you from going on here and now! You will regret not to have chosen the Church of Seiros instead of Her Majesty! Edit 1: VS Byleth Professor! It has been 5 years now! But you are way wrong! The Church of Seiros is magnificent and they are the Goddess Sothis's believers, unlike Her Majesty! Lady Rhea trusted you when you enrolled the Officer's Academy as the new professor of the Black Eagles House. Edit 2: VS Dorothea Dorothea: Lara! Is that really you?! If so, then it is nice to see you again! Me: Oh, Dorothy! You missed me so much, my beautiful commoner! But...but I cannot join you! Dorothea: Why can't you join Edie's Imperial Army? Did I do something wrong to you in the past when we were...classmates? Me: No Dorothy, it is not your fault! It's just that...Lady Rhea forced me to join the Church of Seiros and beat up Edelgard. I...I am so sorry! Dorothea: Lara (*sniffs*), I do not want to be your opponent. But if you think it is a good idea to die, then...the Goddess awaits you in her skies. Me: Dorothea...
*Ashen Demon, The Master Persuader:* Sylvain: Hey Dimitri! *pulls out the imperial flag Dimitri: You were always a pushover, weren't you? Then I guess I have to kill you! Byleth: Claude might've been The master tactician, But I'm the master persuader Mercedes: *pulls out the imperial flag Felix: *pulls out the imperial flag Annette: *pulls out the imperial flag Ingrid: *pulls out the imperial flag Ashe: *pulls out the imperial flag Dedue: What the f***!? Dimitri: y-you traitors, I'LL KILL YOU ALL!
My quote during the battle with Edelgard, Dimitri and Claude when this music plays: 1. Edelgard von Hresvelg Me: Oh no! Sweet Edelgard, I do not want to harm you! Edelgard: I understand your feeling, my dear Lara. But unfortunately, I am your opponent. Me: B-b-but! You are so beautiful! I love you so much! My heart is smashed into pieces! Edelgard: Farewell Lara. I must leave you know. Me: Edelgard... 2. Dimitri Alexandre Blayddid Dimitri: Lara? Is that really you? I can't believe it! Me: I am so sorry, my dear King, but I am obliged to kill you with my blade. Please, do not cry because of the situation! Dimitri: I wish I didn't have to hurt you, friend. But the war is tearing us appart! Me: Dimitri... 3. Claude von Riegan Claude: Well, hello there, sweet girl! It is nice to see you again! Me: I am sad, Claude. I do not want to hurt you! Claude: I see, I see. Alas, you are obliged to use your legendary weapon to take me down! Me: Claude... I made up these quotes. Everything in this comment is from my pure imagination!
Probably titled GKOD for Dimitri specifically, and Idomitable for Edelguard specifically. No unique one for Claude. They must’ve just defaulted to idomitable since it sorta makes sense for all 3
