When I was a teenager 13 I had braces put on after the Orthodontist pulled 4 of my teeth using only novacaine. No pain pills just aspirin.😢 When I got home I wanted to cry my parents put on the 3 stooges marathon I laughed 😂my ass off didn’t think about the pain. ❤ laughed so hard I cried tears of joy! God bless the 3 Stooges all 6 of them!❤

We used to watch the stooges as kids in the 70's. For me, the comedy team that hooked me on 1930s comedy teams were the Marx Brothers. Groucho's biting satire, puns and putdowns, Chico's Italian accented con man and Harpo's brilliant pantomine. Cant forget poor Margaret Dumont , who.although not part of the Marx team, was the hapless straight lady to.their wild antics in most of their early films.

I was born in 1956 so I was just the right demographic for when the stooges shorts were syndicated for TV. Me and my friends would roar with laughter everyday after school. But I always had a huge curiosity about who these guys were in real life. For a long time there wasn't much available. The best thing I have seen addressing this is Moe's son's series of videos called ( hey Moe, hey Dad ) its excellent and very revealing.

When I was a kid, I would watch the Stooges on TV with my two siblings. That was in the 1950s. It was actually before Joe Besser and Joe DeRita. Curly Howard was gold. Shemp was a clear step down, comedically, from Curly. When we saw that some episode had Shemp, often we would not bother. I saw Joe DeRita as Curly in a theatrical movie, Stop, Look and Laugh. I have not seen the film since but to this day I remember that I thought it was terrible.

Near the end of his life, Larry wd do commercials during 3 stooges broadcasts sitting in a wheelchair, basically begging for money. A sad end to a comedy titan

It started out with Moe and shemp and then Larry fine then ship left because he hated Ted Healy so they brought in curly

Ted Healy hired Larry fine when he was performing on the stage he actually paid him $100 a week to not play the violin

In the long run, I think Larry was better off in comedy over boxing. Boxing usually results in brain damage, as does USA football.

They almost never did their own stunts. Yeah they really got hit and hurt, but anytime there was a stunt that had to be done that could put them at high risk, was too dangerous or they couldn't do, stunt doubles or dummies were used. So, yeah, most of the time stunt doubles were used.
