Great documentary. The tunnel in Orinda ends up in Oakland at Rockridge Station. The Trans bay tube is by all means the greatest feet in the history of civil engineering.
This has the feel of a 16mm film they'd show us in 8th grade on a Friday afternoon. I guess it's the music....and the narration. I'm pretty sure my 3rd-grade class took a field trip through the tube in late 1974.
Really cool video! I noticed it’s pretty low resolution. I wonder what the source media is. Is a film reel still available? It would be amazing to see an HD transfer! Is there a museum in the area with this material? Thanks!
I'm really am going to miss the current cars. I just hope the new cars will blend in well with the surrounding areas. The new cars should have longer windows that can be separated into two, so that passengers know where they are, especially for those that are disabled, and also to bring in more views of the Bay Area.
