It's a thrift haul!!! Finally! I filmed this one before my vacation, but then it took me forever to get it edited and ready to go. We'll call it an end of summer thrift haul. Do you enjoy thrifting?

My parents were married in 1943. I have and use the toaster, similar to yours,that my parents went to housekeeping with. I believe the cord has been changed..I believe the original was like a cloth cord. Still works like a charm. I traded mom a 4 slicer for this 2 slice. I cherish it. Both parents are gone now.

If I were lucky enough to have something mint-in-box, I would both use and display it! Our items want to bring us joy and be of service to us. Using them gives them life and energy! 💜 Also WOW; the black lace gown and matching robe are super pretty, and so is the cute floral and butterfly skirt.

I think using our treasures lovingly, honors the items and the people that loved them. When I pick up vintage items, I always stop at the door or before stepping out of an outdoor sale and thank the previous owners for their gift and promise to cherish them as I know they did. I also notify any negative attachments that they are not welcome and that they need to get out and not follow us home. Yeah, I'm spoopy as well as vintage 👻

@@ArwenNMyrtlesMom Another spoopy vintage treasure hunter! You shop kind of the same way I do. The one time I had a chance to shop an estate sale, I thanked the previous owner and honored the space that was once her home. When I’m out and about in the thrift shop / antiquing world, I know an item is good to come home with me if I love how it feels (I guess sort of a spoopy version of Marie Kondo’s description of something “sparking joy”). If something seems a bit “off” about it - too sad, heavy, some anxiety with it - then I leave it alone and I know it’s not supposed to be mine. 💜🕊️👻

I use vintage stuff I buy. Can you imagine the look on your friends face when you present her with a plate of cookies you made from the cookie press she gave you. I think you should use it. I love your channel. You remind me of my mother’s high school pictures. She graduated in 1955.

I really like the toaster and cookbooks. Personally I enjoy using my old stuff. I still use my grandmother's 1950s vintage electric percolator. I am amazed it still works. I just feel soooo old fashioned while using old stuff...and in a good way. I really enjoy your channel!

I inherited my parents' house when my mom died- it's a 1940s kit house- not exactly sure which manufacturer. The property record says it was built in 1942, but the info I've found says that non war manufacturing was halted and there was a lumber shortage. That was in NYC, and my house is in Oregon, where the lumber grew on- well, trees 🤷🏽‍♀ Anyway, the closest kit I found was the Bryant. It got a couple of unfortunate 70s upgrades(??) that we immediately ripped out when we started working on it. The last whole house paint job is what we not so lovingly refer to as Institutional Green. My hope is to restore it to full 40s glory (that is my decade of choice), complete with actual linoleum- actually Marmoleum, which is an environmentally friendly version of linoleum, and period paint colors. We are taking our time putting it together partially do to life and because this stuff's expensive! I have a Pinterest board with my ideas and wish list items. pin.it/40OW0Ws Bonus is that our family house is a late 90s ranch-ish style house. It is a basic, open floor plan that is plain enough that it would mesh nicely with a midcentury vibe.

That lamp is a hoot!! And that lampshade I think probably goes for alot of money. Its very iconic. And oh!! The Ballet pictures!! Every girl in the 60s had those exact same pictures in their bedrooms!!

Freddies of Pinewood for jeans are amazing! Such quality denim - you can find them second hand sometimes as well on Poshmark, ebay, or depop!

Did you end up finding any for a good price? I live in the KC area too and thrifting here is so different! Much pricier. My grandmother lives in Wyoming and she always finds the most beautiful - and name brand - vintage glass for such cheap prices!

I can’t believe you found a Pendleton for $3. I live in Pendleton so even when we find shirts and coats (not even blankets), especially vintage, they are at least $25. Even if they are from a thrift shop from somewhere in the region, not just in town. And that’s even for kids sizes. So you’ve got a good deal on your hands!

You must live in no where land, to find the Chinese TV lamp for $5, a steal. The lampshade, absolutely, you will need that. The radio would not be all transistor from 1951, maybe 1961, $5 wow. It is atomic. $4 for the lamp. bargain. $4 for the ballerinas, amazing. Laci, I need to move in your town. These prices are incredible.

So, I made a cup of coffee at sat down to enjoy this video...I don't know if you do this, but I have an idea... Eventually your home will have too many vintage treasures to hold. Maybe you can sell some of these beautiful vintage things on Ebay or Etsy. That would be a win-win situation for us all. We could purchase what we love and you would have this income plus your RU-vid income. I have a feeling that your channel is gonna get more popular! If we get your subscriptions up, then you can quit your job, and thrift full time :)

Lacy, Here are a few of the stores I mentioned earlier. Vintage in Bloom 724-228-8400 , Coligan Sarah 724-942-3128, Vintage to Vogue 724-941-4040. Best of luck. Side note: The town that these stores are located in are birth places for famous singers, Perry Cuomo and Bobby Vinton.
