The crystal bowl at 12:59 is Gorham crystal, specifically the althea cut collection. My stepmother worked at the outlet in Pigeon Forge years ago. It's the crystal I've collected for years ❤ my favorite!!
Almost everything in my house is thrifted, including my clothes. I've been doing it for years. Not only do you get great deals but you're saving the planet by not buying new.
The white casserole dish is made by Fire King. The pattern is called Green Meadow . They were made between 1968-1974. I collect Pyrex, Vaseline Glass, Uranium Glass, Jadite, Amberina…anything that glows under a black light. Your crystal choices are beautiful.
The large crystal bowl and the large pitcher are absolutely gorgeous! Display them with pride (and tell anyone who admires them that they're family heirlooms...).
That’s a crystal bowl, beautiful! The glasses are crystal! The little pitcher (maybe a creamer)is crystal. The big bowl is crystal. The large pitcher is a gorgeous piece of crystal. Girl, you did good. This was fun.
Hi Brooke, Yes, in my opinion it's all crystal. The small pitcher you displayed looks like pinwheel crystal. You can tell by the design on the piece, which looks a pinwheel. very pretty. The other pieces are definitely crystal. This was a great find. 👍
What?!? Not a thrift haul!? Not my favorite content on RU-vid!? LOL! Hope you enjoy thrifting! It is one of my favorite forms of shopping! Thanks for the continued content!
With the sourdough discard, I made waffles, blueberry muffins, rolls, and the ones that you stated. There is a sourdough started recipe that you don't need to do the discard. I tried it and it turned out great. Thank you for reminding me that I need to start on my sourdough starter. 🌞 Awesome channel and person!!!!
We love to thrift. The thrill of the hunt. We have found some amazing finds. But we stopped going when they started charging the same price as new or more. Wen a dollar store item is being sold for $5-$10 it just left us not wanting to go. However yard sale season will be here soon...
On that creamer, if the top sawtooth pattern is sharp, you have cut glass. If they are smooth, it is pressed glass. My inclination is that since it IS crystal, it is more than likely also cut glass. Everything you have shown is crystal. The water/lemonade pitcher is gorgeous. Sadly, thrift stores have become wise to people buying and reselling, so they have jacked up the prices of things that were most likely given to them, driving, or at least making it more difficult, resellers from the market. Total greed on the part of these stores.
Love thrift hauls! Re: Crystal: my mom collected crystal for years, a particular brand was called Princess House, they usually had parties where you could collect pieces. Old Crystal usually is made up of those jagged top cuts in the rims and if I remember correctly crystal fruit bowls and crystal bowls are usually on sale at Christmas time or holidays like Mother’s Day from big department stores but if you find them in antique shops or thrift shops then yes they are more expensive! You found great pieces! Our shelf broke on our curio and all of our crystal came crashing down one day after 30 years, we saved what we could. Oh yeah, those baking dishes are what I’m always on the hunt for especially when making casseroles! ❤❤
I have a bowl very similar that was my mother's. She used to put the Cesar salad in the bowl ,croutons, and the dressing on top, then put in the fridge for an hour. When you take it out to toss, that crystal makes it so cold and delicious! I still do it. Love your finds and great new hobby!
Thanks for taking us along on your thrifting trip! I'm excited to go out and look myself, now. Just getting out of the house is half the battle for me, but I know if I go it's great for my mental health to get up and move! I love that crystal pitcher you found. As always, you put a huge smile on my face! I love all of the content you put out and this video did not disappoint. You deserve all kinds of nice things Brooke! Have a beautiful and blessed day.
The glasses look like mine from my wedding registry (24 years ago) Mikasa and the Pattern is called Flames D’amore. Currently they are $39.99 per glass on Replacements.
The thrift store you went to today can I just say " wow " their prices were ridiculous and pricey for me. Thank you for the video. Have a blessed day you and your family.
@@AprilAiteen it’s called Karm: A thrift store with a mission. They help put addicts into rehab, and they feed the homeless. They also employee a great deal of college students to work with their school Schedules. Their mission is pretty great, but you have to pick through their expensive stuff to find goodies lol
@@AprilAiteenyup that old Corning ware and Pyrex is definitely collectible. Same with the coke glasses. I used to work in a collectibles shop. The amount people would pay for collectibles is crazy. That was back in the late 90s. I can’t imagine what that 1950s drink ware and depression glass would go for now! 😂
I thought the same thing while our thrift stores can be pretty high today they are way cheaper than all the vintage pieces which is pretty sad unfortunately with everything when something becomes a "Popular" item they jack the prices up. I have a lot of those vintage which fortunately I bought when the attitude was "That old thing" nah. Same with Tupperware. I don't collect to display though I use mine love them and love the thoughts of how excited the original owner was to buy them back in the day and how they used them to serve their family. Oh my goodness girl some of those thrift store prices were crazy ( that instapot)!😮 I don't know anything about crystal but they're all so pretty! You found some great deals and now I want to go flick glass at my thrift store 😂
I agree with you on just a hot dog and bun with chili and mustard, so good. You’re great, Brooke, with a heart of gold. Love your channel. Love 💕 and Hugs. ❤❤❤
I don’t care if that pitcher is Crystal or not, it’s beautifullll❤. Also sourdough pancakes are one of my favorite things in the world and I’m hoping you’ll show us if/when you make them!!!
I love thrifting! Love ur videos, my husband and i watch one of urs and dustys videos every night. We say its like sitting with old friends. I sent u a Christmas gift to your po box. Hope u got it it was my thank u for the laughs and great videos. They make my day ur too funny. The gift was from ashley h.
I've been watching a vintage channel and got the urge myself. I recently picked up the same casserole dish you got for 6.99 for $16. I was so excited when you showed it; even more so that you bought it! You got a good buy!
I just love watching, Brooke! I say yes on crystal but even if I'm wrong, they're so pretty. I love that you're making starter and cheering you on. Keep being a light and spreading love. As always, be blessed my Southerland Squad! xoxo
Carl and Ginger, I love it, I have had sour dough starter for almost a year. When I get tired of making sour dough bread, I just place the container in the fridge and let it go to sleep. When I am ready to start making it again, I pull it out the night before, feed it, let it come to room temp and go from there. Enjoy and Happy New Year
Brooke, you did an amazing job correctly choosing crystal! I could tell immediately by the "bell reverberation" when you tapped them. I also could see the prism effect, and with the over-weigh for size, I am absolutely sure they are crystal. What kind, you will have to investigate that, the notched edged creamer looked old and I have seen them as a set with a sugar bowl that has a nesting lid, the cut sided round dish is also familiar, but can't remember where I saw that. Great job!
I sure don't know if it is crystal, but I agree, it passed the tests I know about. No matter what, it is all just gorgeous to have sitting around. All the money you save on food, you deserve these nice things. Your husband is good to you. I think you got a good deal!
Hi Brooke, Happy New Year to you and yours ! You definitely got some crystal there. I have been making a my "chili dog casserole", with leftover chili for years. I mix up 2 packages of Jiffy corn muffin mix as the package says, except I use water instead of the milk it calls for. Then, I pour it into a greased or sprayed cake pan and spread it evenly across the pan. Note : It may not look like it's enough, but you're not making cornbread. In reality, it's a "pie crust" so 2 packs is enough for a 10X14 pan. I slice up a pack of cheapo hot dogs and press the slices into the batter. Then, I bake it at 350°F for about 20 -25 minutes or until it's almost cooked through, just slightly wet on the toothpick, when inserted in the middle. Then, I pour chili over the cornbread spreading it evenly. I add some shredded cheese on top and pop it back in the oven until the chili is hot, and the cheese is melted, about 10 -15 minutes more. THIS IS DELICOUS !!! My family LOVES it ! God bless you and your family.
Your Crystal pitcher would look great with flowers in it! Be sure to USE all of your beautiful finds! That’s what they’re meant for! Loved everything you got!!!
I was told once from a friend... If you have crystal and dishes that are for special occasions. Use them. You, Your family and friends are special. You found some beautiful pieces. I collect Royal Albert (Cottage Grove) dishes. Love them. They make me smile. Isn't that what it is all about? Being happy.🌷
I have the same glasses and pitcher they are most definitely crystal and I paid way more than that for mine. You found an amazing deal on those pieces. I may have to travel up to Knoxville one weekend and check out those thrift stores.
You def got some crystal. Just remember some of that stuff becomes a chore. Dusting becomes your life. Most of the thrusters I've been watching are looking for pieces they can turn over in online sales. You know the ring of crystal!
Can't wait for you to get back to cooking several recipes, I love it when you cook and actually see someone eat it and not just show look what I made.I want to know how it tastes, that's what I love about you and your family.I know holidays were a lot of work. But I miss your different beans and rice recipes and I know there are so many more.
There's lots of stuff you can make with the discard. Waffles are one of my favorites. I am mostly thrifting clothes from now on myself. I love thrift stores because they're filled with things that still have so much use left in them and they cost so much less than buying new. It also gets me out of mindless consumerism and into more intentional spending.
Thank you very much for your videos, sometimes it's not so cheap because I'm from Germany an stuff like meat or cheese are much more expensive but some recipes I even can adapt in Germany. So thank you very much :)
You done so well!!!!!! Way to go,that stuff was definitely crystal.I think the prisms almost always tell the tale but I like the bell test too. Braydon cracked me up at the end of the video. Great video from my favorite youtuber and her amazing family. Can't wait until next time.
Beautiful and neat finds. Watch with using heavy crystal for food and drink, lead leaches from.the crystal. Love the clothing haul too. I'm gonna try making sourdough this year but I have to see about doing this gluten free. Hopefully its possible. Love you and your videos Brooke. God Bless You All.
Next time you're checking for your crystal, don't hold on to it, leave it sitting on the counter and then flick it. If it has a beautiful tone to it. It's Crystal if it has a doll tone to it. It's just glass but don't hang on to the item
I loved the thrifting I believe you have some new crystal pieces!!! Enjoy them!!! Thank you for introducing us to Carl n Ginger. Looking forward to seeing how they come out!!! Yayyyssss I will be trying the corn dog recipe! You’re amazing Miss Brooke!!! Xoxoxo 🎉❤🙏🏻😘
I haven't bought anything retail in years. I buy all my clothes at thrift stores. They are high end clothes that cost a dollar or two. I love thrifting! I feel sorry for people who think they're too good to buy things at thrift stores.
Happy New 29:50 Year Brooke and family 🎉🎉!! Brooke I also believe you got great deals on the crystal pieces , the little pitcher is a creamer but would also be a great gravy boat or syrup pitcher ! I love the large pitcher for lemonade or any drink ! The pretty bowl would look beautiful to serve veggies or pudding in or even mixed fruit dessert in or even rolls , really anything would be beautiful in it! I think you did a great job and got some great deals on everything including the clothes ! Thanks for taking us along thrifting, I love thrift stores and saving money ! I hadn’t seen the corndog idea but it looked delicious ! Brooke you can use your starter discard for all kinds of breads , I’m like you I don’t want to throw it away , so you can make pancakes, cinnamon rolls , biscuits , muffins , Cakes, rolls or all kinds of things like hotdog or hamburger rolls or donuts or honey buns or danish with pie filling in the center , and it will live a long time in the fridge , I saw on a page I watch that she left her starter or discard in fridge for several months and she had forgotten about it as it got pushed to the back of fridge and when she took it out she just left it out to get to room temp snd she fed it and it woke up snd she made bread with it and it turned out great, so don’t throw away your discard it will keep !! 😅Great video Brooke and I love that more snd more of your beautiful grey hair is growing in fast it looks so very pretty on you ! You know women pay a lot of money trying to get the beautiful silver color your hair is naturally 👏👏👏! Have a great day and thanks for the great video ! God bless ❤️ 🙏🙋🏻🌈🙏
Dear that was a very nice thrift store!! WOW. I Would say you got some great stuff at a great price. You are absolutely right about the ring, if it’s crystal but I also know there is leaded crystal. . That might be the heavier pieces, IDK 💕🙏🙏

i live in Orlando and the lg well known nonprofits seem harder to shop for decent priced deals I often find things for higher or equal priced items as new you really have to look to find a good deal Omg I keep forgetting to ask for my senior discount 😮😅 I forget I' m a senior😅 63 yrs old, lol obviously unwillingly growing old, 😅 love the casserole dish,...you are right , people toss so much others can use...
