Throwing a big 10 pound clay pottery vase on the wheel

No stoneware is a great clay to use. If there is tons of grog in it (which I knew a guy who would put loads of grog in his clay and his hands looked like ground beef) it will cut your hands up, but some grog helps strengthen the clay body!

I am a newbie in pottery...do you have any tips for clay-centering...I am impressed how you quickly managed to center such pile of clay. Thanks!

Ive encountered a problem dan, whenever i throw thin like pieces and i stick my palm in to pull, my thumb seems to protrude out and extend sections that i dont want sticking out. any tips? Thanks Elias
