Hi Lynn, I had 4 kids, too! 2 boys & 2 girls. They started around 7yrs. Doing their chores. I had them within 51/2yrs so the girls were in-between the boys! They made their beds clean the room, took out the trash, washed didhes, sweep & mopped, vaccum as they got older, they would make a dinner ,then cleaned up! Wash their own own clothes. Mow the lawn etc. They did this gradually as they got older, they did more chores & I did pay some allowance or they got something they really wanted. As adults. My boys could cook & clean house very well. My girls, one like to cook & the other liked to clean. They learn the other things as they got to be wifes & Mothers. Another thing I did was rotating their toys, before rotating was even an idea, back in the 70's. I would cleaned their rooms when young take a bunch of toys & stuff animals & packed them away in a big box for several months, then changed everything, they thought they had new toys etc. I didn't buy a whole lot of things, just what they needed. I had at least 2 bed sheets for each kid in case of accidents or sick etc. A dresser & a closets! No fancy computer, no electronic games. We played old maid, tic tack toe, sorry, & other games I can't remember. But we had fun! So I do understand! You do pretty much what I use to do! My kids are now 52yrs, 51yrs, 49yrs, almost 47yrs. I have 14 grandkids & 3 great grandkids. They're all spread around so don't see all of them. But with all the electronics now I can talk & see them now! Thanks for sharing! ☺️🫂🍄🐾🦉🦋🦩🌹✨️
I have 4 boys and they got chores starting at 7. Dishwasher, yard work, really cleaning their own rooms. Beds are always made before school. They live here, they help. My oldest asked to start mowing at 9 😂 They do their own laundry at 12. I want my boys to know how to do everything by the time they leave home. So they can be good husbands and Daddies ❤
Love your video! Yes give kids responsibility! It is key for their life! For me I think I fear aging and leaving this earth mostly because it is something new and I can not understand it all. I can not fathom NOT being here and knowing things and being around my family and friends. So to be true I scared about that part, but obviously that day will come, sooner or later, so I just do not dwell on it and try to enjoy the time I do have here on earth living!
I am turning 60 this year. For the past 5 years I have steadily gained , I hate how I feel and look. Last year I logged all my meals on my fitness pal. I didnt diet, I made good choices, watched portions along with training for a 5k and 10k I finally lost 12 lbs. Yay! But couldn't lose more. There is more to my health journey but won't dump that. I just want to say it is so frustrating, so I feel ya. ❤LauraD
Oh Lynn.......I so wish I'd had your tips and advice to help me manage my kid's 'stuff' when they were growing up. I did pare their things down from time to time but would love a 're-do' to be able to employ your good and wise tactics. You are amazing and you are still teaching me your 'tricks of the trade' and I am 81. You are generous, loving and kind and such a role model re parenting, homemaking and being a good wife. Thank you for you. Love, Dorothy.
Oh my goodness YES!! I’m not scared to die, i know I’m going to Heaven, I just don’t want to leave my kids and grandkids!!! I don’t want to miss ANYTHING they do and accomplish!!!!!!
I know alot of people fear aging because of their outside appearance and they don't want to die. My motto is ..grow older with honor for the ones that didn't get to. If you make decisions in fear ..it keeps you there.
Hey and this is indeed very heartwarming and very wonderful and the house is so beautiful and the kids are indeed very adorable and this brings back such great memories of when I use to be a 90s kid and an early 2000s kid and I am a new subscriber as well:).
I love this house so much more than the other, I think it is a home, you actually live here and have found peace a beautiful place to raise your family and a beautiful place to grow old.❤❤❤❤
I'm the same! I've always feared aging because I don't want to leave my kids and grandkids!! I'm 69 now and I'm trying to enjoy my life and retirement and not think about it. But it's always in the back of my mind! My only saving grace is the fact that I take after my mom and she's 96 and still with us!! I hope I can be here that long and still be viable!! I just don't want to leave my family too soon. 😀🙏❤
Totally agree with expectations as children will rise to them if they are in common sense!! So often as moms we think they aren't capable but if we do this we actually handicap them in a sense 😔 raise strong kids 💪🏻
Just a suggestion but I’d you swap the boy’s entry door to their bedroom to open the other way it wouldn’t feel so congested when you enter the room. 😊
Whenever i do a declutter or a deep clean, I get a black trash bag and go room by room and throw everything out that hasn’t been used in a month and it is always so effective!!
Yep it’s one of those things that makes it frustrating getting older as I’m 43 this year and makes it harder to keep healthy, I do walk every morning for a hour, but still have some things I need to accomplish and win on as such with eating more healthier etc. anyhow, many declutting I need to do soon in my school holidays in July. Have a awesome week Lynn your amazing 💜
Several years ago I was gaining weight, exhausted (literally would fall asleep with coffee in my mouth and the cup in my hand), etc. and discovered my Vit D level was in the toilet. I had to go on the prescription Vit D (weekly capsule) for a few months, then OTC daily since then. Now I can always tell when it's gotten out of whack again.
Lynn, I enjoy your knowledge every video. You look fine and healthy, thats what people only see. I have arthritis and probably hurt every day but they only see the outside appearance. We ladies know when something is not right... Anxious to see how you do with all your changes. HUGS xo
Hi Lynn I have been getting my pellets for 4 years now. I have had great results when it comes to down to more energy less emotional etc. I have a blood disorder that doesn’t process iron or hormones easy. But the pellets have helped so much. The 1st month of my pellets I was hungry a little more but with more energy it kind of balance out. I’ve manage to maintain my weight after the 1st initial round of pellets. Unfortunately as women our body go thru so much & sometimes we need to get help & that is totally ok. Know we love watching you & appreciate all that you share with us. Sending you much love. & hoping you feel yourself soon. Jacky 0:03
I was just at the endocrinologist 2 days ago about this very thing. I have Hashimotos (hypothyroidism) and my glucose is in the 140’s…. And I’ve gained weight. He upped my levothyroxine and told me to “mind the carbs” (oatmeal, bread, pasta, potatoes) and sugar (bananas). Who knew? I ALWAYS thought oatmeal and banana would be extremely healthy. They maybe for people w/o thyroid issues but apparently not me. He told me to eat protein…lots of protein. Good luck on your journey. BTW-I’m 72
So sorry for your loss. I lost my baby Snowy in October and I'm still dealing. 💔 🙏🏻 I know it's hard. There is nothing helpful to say other than I can commiserate with you. ❤️🩹
I remember using a journal notebook called Throw It Away by Guru Notebooks that helped a lot. It's hard to work through the emotional process of letting go of stuff.
Hey I would like to recommend a cookbook for balancing hormones naturally. I am going to be getting it myself and everything in this book looks so yummy. It’s called meals she eats.
Have you ever heard of Dr. Haver? The Galveston Diet..all about how to help your hormones… she is amazing and so is Dr. Pelz…Fast like a girl… so helpful!
Odd comment alert: I’ve been subscribed for a while and every time I see your videos you remind me of the singer Kobra Paige. You both have those high cheekbones and eyebrows and you’re both stunningly beautiful. Much love. ❤
My kids didn’t like what I cooked one time so I threw it all in the trash and told them they would make their own meals from then on. Of course I cooked the next time!! 😂
Hi Lynn, you're a pleasure to watch, enjoy all your content. Wanted to suggest for you (in your health journey) to consider looking into the carnivore diet and healing your body... Dr. Ken Berry, Dr Anthony Chaffee, and 5 minute body are some of the RU-vidrs I listen to often. I (45) and my mom (65) have started the journey to heal from autoimmune diseases, chronic pain and hormone issues amongst other things. Many have healed themselves with this way of eating (WOE) and I'm confident that you'd benefit as well... Regardless, praying for success in your journey 🙏
Hahaha probably Amanda from this crazy life. I will often put on her videos just to feel like I’m spending time with her. She’s one of my favorite people.
I love watching your videos . This is Denise. Can you tell me how to keep the house tidy while working long hours? I try to do it all on a day off but need to keep it tidy even on the days I work, but does not seem to happen. Have any suggestions.???? Please???
I also have low vitamin D, low omega 3s, and low testosterone. I also have to count my calories. Anyways just letting you know you're not alone. I take supplements but I declined the testosterone because of the weight gain issue.
Excuse my Ignorance, I am not in the USA, but what are pellets? and Lynn, Can I just say, there are a million people wishing they looked as good as you!
You are very sweet :-) hormone pellets are basically hormones placed underneath the skin. Your body absorbs it as it needs it. I do not produce testosterone and that can cause health issues.
I think you would fear aging less if you can grasp the fact that aging does not equal death. You can get sick or die in an accident, it’s also possible that you may out live your children and husband. Only God knows the date and time.
