This is part 2/3 of my 2021 southbound thru-hike of the Arizona Trail. The AZT is an 800 mile National Scenic Trail that traverses the length of the state of Arizona from the Utah state line to the border with Mexico.
This second part of my hike takes place in the remainder of the northern forest section and some of the central desert section of the AZT. Some landmarks and locations featured in the video include Coconino National Forest, the Mogollon Rim, Tonto National Forest, Mazatzal Wilderness, Four Peaks Wilderness, Roosevelt Lake, Apache Lake, and Superstition Wilderness.

That is so kind of you to say! Thank you very much. It’s funny because since I hiked the AZT, I have filmed other thru hikes like the JMT and Colorado Trail, but just haven’t gotten around to editing and uploading them. I’m currently in grad school in Flagstaff and it’s so time consuming, but I hope to post more videos at the end of the semester.

@@habibihikes That's so freaking awesome man for you to love the way you shoot. I understand I hiked the Colorado trail in 2020 and all those videos are just piled up. It does take a minute to get to. I was just in Flagstaff a few weeks ago I love that place and I went up to that observatory. You picked a good place to go to school brother! Nice vibe town. See you when I see you :-) I'll keep watching these because I'm doing the southern half this fall (sunflower to border) Your videos are helpful thanks again

@Habibi Hikes Can't wait to see it. Your editing skills are light years ahead of mine. My videos are more vlog style I guess, but thanks for the kind words brother.

Really enjoying your short AZT series! FYI 14:44 that is black locust, and it's a cuddly lap kitten compared to cat claw. I'm guessing you've already found that out.

I’m glad you’re enjoying it dude! I’m halfway done with the Colorado trail right now so that video series should be released in a month! I thought it was cat claw since this trail worker told me to watch out for it that day but the desert really doesn’t have a shortage of plants that will poke you 😂

You showcased the Mazzies well. Btw, that plant was New Mexican Locust. Equally as annoying as cat claw. 😂

The Mazatzals were so difficult but one of my favorite sections by far. And thank you for pointing that out about the NM Locust!

It took me 42 days, 5 of which were days spent resting and not hiking. I started 10/1/21 and finished 11/11/21.

Inside! This is still the only time that I have woken up to puddles of water inside my tent luckily.
