Thunder Dragons is a beautiful archetype I wish Konami actually created more support for it (actual starters, more fusions, legit spells) as it would make sense since they did it for other archetypes. But hopefully they also take other cards and make legit archetypes for them for players to just explore or enjoy a favorite card. FREE MY MANS COLOSSUS!!! DAT BOY GOOD!! (dpYGO reference) lol 😂

Machine king, gate guardian, pumpking the king of ghosts. So many cards could use legacy support. My opinion is especially Gate Guardian since it was the earliest point you could suggest an archetype was a thing.

@@k.f.kobold7910hey guess what! They did indeed finally come around to making gate guardian an archetype. You don’t tend to use the OG guy in it, but they made a retrain of him as a fusion monster with actual effects, so it’s fine
Fun fact: in duel links aloof lupine and chaos dragon levianeer and thunderdark and other cards that are have been put to limited 2 and 3 are there because of thunder dragon players and because of them they hurt the metaphys player when they hit aloof
Colossus is available in the OCG so I can play one in Master Duel. I appreciate this video and I'm going to make a thunder dragon deck now, especially considering, when I was a kid, a Twin-Head Thunder Dragon was my first rare I ever opened in a pack.
I remember when these came out... Splashed them into a Batteryman deck - colossus could be made easily using a spare nine-volt or microcell, and let me stall until I got the pieces for a Batteryman otk, and having duo, hawk and dark let me reach lethal more easily than with just Batterymans.

as long as OCG doesnt ban Colossus, there is a considerably good chance colossus goes to 1 in TCG besides, it wouldnt even be tier1 in the current meta just like how OCG shy away from it
Colossus at one, maybe two. It’s not really hard to get rid of anymore and most of the options to get rid of it are already being run as standard in most decks.
Is it too much ask for a twin attribute archetype that not Light/Dark. I know it normally symbolizes good/evil, order/chaos, and nonsense. I would like see them do a Dark/Fire or Wind/Light. See what symbolism come from that mixture.
Thunder Dragons in the current meta is played by mixing in Chaos cards. The cost of summoning them by banishing becomes beneficial as you will be able to activate Thunder Dragon Monsters effects. Because Chaos cards have several level 8s along with Thunder Dragon cards like with colossus and Dragonduo, you can make generic Rank 8 plays like number 38 for spell negation or dingritsu for removal and protection. As for how I play Thunder Dragons, I lean them more towards spam link summoning like Avermax with IP effect while still holding chaos engine, allowing me to have control over the game. The main weakness to this is nibiru since I would be mixing link summoning with Fusion Summoning (under verte effect) and with colossus and maybe a Rank 8.
Danger cards are also a good mix to Thunder Dragons as you get to discard your thunder monsters (which is even more fun for you if dimensional Fissure is on the field) from your hand to summon them. Also, Bigfoot and Thunderbird are Level 8 monsters which again allows you to do Rank 8 plays.
I wish they’d make more legacy support like this. It’d be so cool to have an archetype based on some of the old fusion monsters like Dark Baltar or Last Warrior or things like Paladin of White Dragon, Hungry Burger (obviously), Tri-Horned Dragon, or Serpent Night Dragon. I still haven’t lost hope for Gate Guardian support.
Figured since Noajenk made a summoning chant, it's only fair I threw in my own. *Ahem!* Merciless force, become personified as the dragon with scales as dark as a thunder cloud. Command the sky with your electric wrath! Yugo Shokan! Emerge from the eye of the storm, Thunder Dragon Colossus! I came up with this in about a few minutes, so I hope it's not too bad.

Nah I think the deck needs to go the chaos/combo route... give them a themed link 1 and 3, more starters like a themed aloof that is a thunder with a similar effect, that would be much better
I have been playing pure Thunder Dragon for awhile now but I think that transitioning to a chaos dragon variant might be better, as I just don't see what benefit the pure variant has anymore. Going second with the pure version is alright but fielding enough damage for an otk through disruptions is getting harder and harder.
@@GoldenNovaYugioh They never finished that series. There's still FIRE, WATER and WIND missing. Sadly in all this time there haven't been much strong fusion themes of those attributes. Well there's Metalphoes but I guess that wasn't enough for Konami to make Fure Hex-Sealed Fusion. The only prominent WIND fusion theme uses contact fusion.
Lunalights are dancing with a familiar unbra witch weather painters are happily sitting on their clouds dangers are all being rounding up in cages whole the others try yo free them and earthbound immortals and still dead in the ground despite being you know IMMORTAL.
Personal suggestion as a tech pick for weather painters, kaijus obviously work well with thunder canvases effect, so why not up the tributes with laver golem, also as another tech pick, Metaltron XII, the True Dracombatant, you already run a bunch of continuous spells and traps to facilitate summon and immunity, but also if it gets destroyed you get a free summon from the extra deck, and considering you don’t use the extra deck, you can throw any applicable target in there.
This archetype is basically my favorite Pokémon, Zekrom, as a Yu-Gi-Oh archetype. It could just be the Tao Trio as a whole, since it's a chaos attribute archetype. To quote The Cali Effect K.O.G, "Free my brother Thunder Dragon Colossus!"
No no no sir, here's a REAL silly tech pick for you. Watt fox. A level 2 watt tuner searchable with fusion. Normal summon it and synchro with dark or hawk into watthydra attack directly and banish another thunder dragon from your deck :).
@@findout2655 actually I only thought of that specifically to spite rank10ygo for when he said watthydra would have been a decent tech in a few decks like Shiranui but its summoning condition makes it unsummonable in anything but watts

I’m surprised people haven’t used him in tournaments against zombie decks ( golden lord and some zombies are doomed against him). @@demonking8766 yeah you summon kycoo and opponent just goes: lord discard eff to pop Kycoo is strong but not consistent enought to make an impact, it's the same deal with thunder king raioh... maybe if they limited spellbook of judgment he'd have a consistent deck that could play him

I mean, while Colossus was there, thunder dragon was a control deck for like 2 months then immediatly evolved into a super aggro danger guardragon deck that had to get hit on every single banlist until colossus got banned
