I was watching every new episode and it was SO MUCH BETTER than the '85 version... Sadly the toys werent hitting that same high quality and the show died.
There was a funnier one in the original 80s series where Mumm-Ra had pissed off the ancient spirits, and then tries to call on them to transform and they just cut him off in the middle of his incantation and tell him to fuck off.
Snot Nose I know, but hey, networks need a way to make money somehow to be able to pay for the animation. Its so expensive here in america that we have to outsource everything to Korea, Canada, or India. This show itself was animated in Japan actually. I guess I cant blame them for trying to keep money up in this economy.
Snot Nose If it makes you feel any better the producers said that this was supposed to happen in season 2: - Pumyra would've been transformed into an insect like creature to combat liono and his sword. - In a battle between the two Liono would've stayed his blade because he knows Pumyra can still make the right choice but instead Tygra gets killed taking a blow from her meant for Liono. - We would've seen the backstory of Sly the lizard general and seen that he was the victim of Cat oppression when Claudus ordered Lynx-O (the blind cat we saw in the first episode) to burn down the jungle that he and his family lived in. After years of fighting the cats he always failed and decides to sell his soul to Mummra. - Sly beheads Lynxo in a prison camp Liono and Panthro infiltrate to save him in. Sounds violent I know but they explained their not going to shelter kids from violence. Also I assume it would happen off screen. - Snarf is also revealed to be the original Thundercat. Mummra Created snarf in a lab (he was a geneticist) and was amazed that no matter what damage he takes Snarf would come out of it unscathed. And so he cloned the entire Thundercat race from his DNA. - Also the reason the ship carrying all the animals crashed into Third Earth was because Snarf got loose and crawled through the ventilation shaft cutting wires with his little claws. Feel better?
if it was up to me and save little more money, I would happen to buy one of those action figures. no matter how old I am, anything to get the new show back! thundercats hoooooooooooooo!
No. He's an evil lich with granted powers all his own not a manipulative emperor with innate dark powers. He's his own character and a good one at that. If you want Palpatine expys, there's Ghetsis from Pokemon and Serrator from Power Rangers to name two.
Yeah, his transformation is a clever plot-device to allow him to alternate between being Emperor inspired and Darth Vader inspired. And Jaga is an obvious Obi-Wan Kenobi ripoff.
From what I've heard, it had to do with lacking toy sales. Really sucks too, because Next to the 2002 reboot of He-Man, this show was a friggin masterpiece.
You can not comprehend the forces you are dealing with....(Me thinking he is talking about the power of the sword of omens he is trying to steal) When he said "ancient spirits of evil" I promptly spit out my drink because he was di** riding himself and his own power!😅😅😂😂
@@drixg555 no, no it didn’t. You could actually interpret the reflection weakness in a lot of different ways. It helped be part of the mystery element that made the original Mumm-Ra interesting. It was also a weakness that could easily be overcome since all he would have to do is avoid looking into reflective surfaces. And even after all that, he lost that weakness after the first season. This Mumm-Ra…well, he has bat wings, he’s weak to sunlight, he doesn’t live in a pyramid (since it’s just a spaceship), he doesn’t rest in a tomb (since it’s just the cockpit of a tank), he wasn’t a human and instead some random bat alien, and even the “Everliving” part of his name never really plays into effect in this series like it did in the original as we get no hints that he’s even undead, since he looks exactly the same in the present as he did in the flashback episodes. It really does feel like they just wanted to make a vampire alien and just slapped the Mumm-Ra name onto him out of obligation.
“You cannot comprehend the forces you are dealing with! Ancient Spirits of Evil, transform this decayed form into MUMM-RA… THE EVER… LIV- *_AAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!”_* I don’t know why this is as funny as it is.
I've liked this since I was a small one, LOL 😂🤣 and I wish they would bring it back 😢❣️ Unfortunately it's probably not going to happen 😭 but I can hope ❣️
I ask this out of curiosity.......Do the Thundercats know about Mumm-ra's real name (and about the time when was a mortal man) ???? Or is that just in the comic series?
Karissa Rasmussen maybe just in the comics That Mumm Ra was an Alien warlord who enslaved many of animal-like Alien race and he was probably from the same race like Thanos
It's just that in the Reboot everything takes place mostly in the same planet with some travels while in the original they were on Third Earth for most of the series. It's generally agreed that Third Earth is supposed to be either a prehistoric or post-apocalyptic version of our earth, hence why there are some human characters and Mumm-Ra himself is shown to have been human in the comics.
They already made a comic book crossover. But if you're talking about an animated movie special, I would love to see that. Just don't let Kevin Smith direct it
I always found this mumm-ra more scarier than the old one cause he has a way better reason to hate the thundercat species and he once wiped an entire galaxy just to get the materials for his sword but that’s my opinion you guys have yours too
He really wasn't, his voice sucked compared to Earl Hammond's epic evil voice in the original and his ever-living form was very poorly designed, the original cartoons still looks scary and evil compared to this version. I liked this show but it had a lot of problems such as the voice castings of certain characters and plot holes.
