Thanks for the review. Iron rations refers to food not iron. It is emergency food supplies. That is the reason it looks like bread.

Thank you for sharing. I think your evaluations are pretty much in line with mine. I backed the game on KS, have played it, and like it a lot. But, I have all of the Thunderstone expansions, so I am bias. You're right, TQ isn't perfect even for me. But, TQ adds to the original and in a positive way. I like the addition of the dungeon levels. And, the use of lanterns, iron rations, and potions. A few things you didn't mention (and it's okay that you didn't) were the minis, the rulebook, the artwork. IMHO, the minis are nice, but sadly didn't add much for me, and the rulebook could have been a bit better. I like the card artwork. Also, I think they are going to come out with solo rules. Like the original, I think TQ would play well solo.

I got my copy of the game last week and finally was able to play it. We all loved the game. But our main problem with it is how long it takes to set up and put away. But that's an issue with lots of deck builders that use lots of cards. It's not bad enough that we won't be bringing it to the table a lot. I haven't decided definitively where it stands against my top favorites. But I know my friend who played with me says its his new favorite game. It's certainly my favorite deck-builder.

iron rations actually are food...

Deck building is my favorite genre and Mystic Vale my favorite as well as Valley of the Kings. Really want either TQ or Dominion. Hear great reviews about this game but there is a big love for Dominion, the Grandfather of deckbuilding. Any help anyone? Do like the art and color of TQ but more simplicity and setup to Dominion.

I only have eyes for Aeon's End now.

I finally got this game and just played and pretty disappointed as from what I can tell there is no player interaction! Im basically waiting during the other players turn so kind of dull. I preferred something like Hero Realms.

Ummm...Do you guys really not know what "Iron Rations" are? Are those roleplaying books on the shelves just for show? lol...
