I managed to lawn dart last night flying a GAA in Bomber Escort. Went to tighten up my turn, added a bit of rudder and boom! - right into a mountain top I was flying by (one of the Cold Peak maps). Still trying to get the hang of ruddering, but I'm trying. The P.1101 was my first tier 10, and it's absolutely one of my favorites. Those cannons absolutely melt stuff, though you need to keep on eye on the overheat. It's not as bad as the MiG-9s overheat, which takes forever to dissipate, but they'll overheat pretty quick if you're not paying attention.
So, I was that guy. Tabakki is my in game name. I like every tier 10 fighter except the swift...still haven't mastered that one. My fav tier 10 heavy is tge Mighty Javelin...hard to turn your nose up at 2x the health of thebother heavies...especially with the state of bomber tail guns in the game. Love the vids...keep them coming. New content is great when you've already memorized Postal and Vee Bat's entire libraries.
The Swift comes alive when you have it fully specified in specialised configuration. The guns become serviceable and the airframe is terrific. As for the Javelin, at least on the EU server - which I know isn't the case here - it's the best counter to tier 10 bomber spam.
@@skunkbeard4205 They seem to be what the British call a "marmite" section. I have people tell me they don't like them and people who tell me they're the only reason they watch! Whatever you've watched, thank you!
Regarding Gatling guns in the game, I think the M61 on the tier 9 F-94D Starfire may be the closest you come to one in WoWp! I enjoyed the replay and I look forward to more when you can.
@@AytchZero I'm not a military historian, but if the M61 isn't a Gatling gun, its design must be inspired by it. In terms of damage output, the guns on the Me P.1101, for example, are close in effect, for sure!
@@AytchZero Yes, the M61 is a gatling (as is the GAU-8, the 30mm on the A-10). The M61 has been the cannon of choice for pretty much all US fighters since it was introduced way back when (1959). First official kill in Vietnam was against a MiG-17 in June 1966 (from an F-105). A total of 39 kills were confirmed by the cannon between 1966 and 1972 in Vietnam against MiG-17, -19 and -21, with the majority being MiG-17s.
