TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew was grilled by lawmakers while testifying before the House Energy and Commerce Committee and dodged questions regarding China and Uyghurs.
The Chinese government conveniently called the relocations area "Reeducation Centers." People were forcefully taken there to be re-programmed to only communist indoctrination--inspite, of your ethic religious beliefs. You are forced to believe, what the government tells you--or else.
First of all, he worked in China his entire life. Wife and kids are both American citizens (you wonder why?). So where he is from is irrelevant. Second, TikTok is CCP war machine attacking American youth. He is the puppet of a foreign war machine.
And it turns out Mr. Shou Chew is indeed Chinese citizen in 2020. He said it himself to World Economic Forum when he was shortlisted for youth leaders. It was also shown that he was a communist party member when he was working at Xiao Mi, a Chinese corporation prior to Byte Dance, another Chinese company. And now he is working for a branch of Byte Dance called TikTok.

It’s actually a relevant question if they wish to see or demonstrate that he has blindingly pro-Chinese incentive compromising loyalties as the head of TikTok for the USA. Which would suggest an influencing of policies regarding the app.

I am from Singapore and we have 3 major races here. We call them Chinese, Malay and Indian. But these are races not nationalities. So the TikTok CEO is a Chinese Singaporean but have nothing to do with China except that his ancestors came from China from god knows when.

Its actually a very smart question to ask, at first glance it appears out of nowhere but it make sense to ask… the hearing is trying to determine weather the CEO is associated to china or INFLUENCED my chinese pressure on his company, the question itself go against chinese government interests, and is taboo in china, so if he avoids the question or says no, than it means chinese pressure is in fact at play, and china has influence over what he can or cannot say, can or cannot do.
