I like it! Suggestion, cut a groove with a grinder in the end of the pins so you can see if the hole for the retainer bolts is lined up without having to twist it and look for the hole. Cool project boys.

I was about to suggest the same, only I would have said to use a chisel to mark the orientation of all the holes in all the pins. Especially those near the front of the plough.

I've got to agree with Matt on the base. And it WOULD make life easier, at least at the yard as a place to "park" the tile plow when you need the "J" as a dozer,

One more idea: taper the tip of each pin a little if there’s enough material. That way the pins can find their own way into all of the holes. I love the beautiful iron work that you have added. The plow looks like a battleship.

To line the pins grind a line vertical on the end so the person putting the pin in knows what way it should be turned

Take a grinding wheel on your pin and scride a horizontal line across the pin and bracket that way you'll know what your pin alignment should be before you hammer it all the way in.
@silentepsilon888
@silentepsilon888 2 года назад
i would suggest a vertical line instead of a horizontal one so that it runs exactly the way the bore hole is for the bolt on the other end of the pin.

I commented earlier that I believe the structure will bend. I guess to be right? With these and earlier confirmations, it starts to look better. There’s quite a lot of power in that 850, as you can see from the stretching of one mount. However, the truth will only be revealed when you hit the stone at maximum depth. Even worse if the stone is only on one side and it twists the immersion arm. Have you thought about it? I do this kind of work, I design, build, solve problems.

This series has been great to watch. I’ll be watching for the next one with the guidance system install. I don’t believe you could be an engineer, in the R&D department, for a company because your design is to user friendly for the everyday person to do maintenance on it without having to take it apart. Being serious though, a lot of engineers could learn from this series of videos so they could learn how to make products user friendly for maintenance reasons. Great job

Nicely done, build came out great. Weld a nut on the flanged end of pins, be able to turn pin line up hole, or thicker flange. Also put a bigger lead in on pins, and tell nym to put on safety glasses when using hammer, one little piece of shrapnel is all it takes, stay safe.

Matt has the right idea for a stand, will make it easier to move the plough if you are not quite lined up on it. Improvements were needed, had no idea the torsion forces would tear the plate like that so quick. With all the pins pulling across the plough, this should help to spread the force evenly across the entire dozer. Just as well Jason turned up to keep you right with mounting the new bracket too !!!
