The flip one piece front end requires braces. Continuing the Ford F100 build, in this video I built and fit adjustable stays to stiffen up the front. #fordf100 #onepiecefrontend #flipfrontend #tilthood #ratrodsforafrica
Would like to do this for my 65 F100, but was brainstorming to NOT have to cut the fenders, but to create a SLIDE then TILT, in other words the COMPLETE fenders would remain in tact, NOT cut across the outside surface, the slide would allow the fenders to slide FORWARD to clear the cab & then tilt, the front wheels could be turned to the max position to aid in the front end to come forward, based on your experience thus far do you think my idea is feasible? Just subbed
That would require a complex mechanism! That front end is heavy, so it would have to be some serious enqineering. Wondering if it is worth the trouble...
@@ratrodsafrica Well you already have the tilt part figured out, I was thinking about something similar to the rollers & channels you see in kitchen type cabinet drawers, the slide mounted to the cab behind the fender and 1 or more rollers mounted to the inside of the fenders at the slide location, the slide guide would keep the rollers in position to roll the fender from away the cab the distance where those ends of the fender would clear the cab & then tilt as you have it. just an idea, you tilt mounts could slide out as the fender ends slides out 😁
