This podcast wouldn’t be close to as good if Ben wasn’t there. I know he refers to himself as nothing but a laugh track, but I die every time he loses it at one of Tim’s irreverent rants.
💯 - a) Crucially Ben's laughter is real and joy is contagious (my partner can't watch anything with 'augmented laughter', let alone a laugh track) b) Ben's a brilliant foil for Tim Dillon's serious/angry persona and Ben's laughter punctuating the rants lifts the show. c) It's especially fun to have someone to laugh along with when Tim is ranting about things that would horrify and appall many people. Didn't mean to write an essay but your comment got me wondering why it is that Ben is so good with Tim.
I always look to Ben before I laugh at Tim's jokes. Are they too much? Tim's very dark side can be very funny if you don't take the current geopolitical global clusterfuc* too seriously. I like the MIT physicist Consciousness theory proposed by Donald Hoffman... that basically the virtual world...is reality...Icons on the desktop...mimics the true state of the world. He discusses this in great detail and he has a mathematical formula...that proposes his ideas may be false...but it is fascinating. He is also a fan of Deepak Chopra. Check him out on the RU-vid!
@@orlandoolague9292 everyone in the NFL and NBA are basically medieval peasants in terms of intelligence, its true. Occasionally you have a GSP who is really intelligent, or a Pacquiao who can become a senator, but most athletes are just idiots, tim is right
@@369pendulum as if anyone will remember today's athletes either. No one will remember anyone alive today given a long enough period of time. And it really won't take very long either. Especially when we're talking the age of the universe
Yeah, because you have to be a gymnast fan to have an opinion on the topic. Set gymnastics aside. Just think about the fact that she is a straight up loser. There should be no reason to drop out of the olympics whatsoever other than severe health issues. Not mental health but health. No respect for a quitter. Especially when the reason to quit is all in your head.
@@Nonamegoodsir4332 damn, I guess losers win gold medals. 🤷🏽 also, since when is mental health not a part of overall health? If you’ve ever experienced it, it can be damn near physically debilitating.
@@dammitbobbi_ think its just become so redundant nowdays- like he said everyone self-diagnosing themselves, everyone using a "mental health problem" as an excuse or reason for any/everything. To me, only in this day and age would someone that spends their life training (spends very little time doing things "normal" ppl their age are doing) an outrageous amount of money, and the self-discipline to do all that would quit for that reason. Tim is wrong on many things but I know he tries to be an outrageous alex jones type ass-clown who likes to make rediculous blanket statements about things he is ignorant about which he did a lot of here lol. Anyone with any sense at all shouldnt take his ass seriously lol. While he keeps bringing it up, wouldnt doubt it if he didnt have a touch of what his mom "supposedly" has
@@Nonamegoodsir4332 dude shut up bro calling the best gymnastic girl ever a loser... You have no idea the real reason she quit ... It could've been they wanted her to.turn her back on the flag and she refused to do it so she quit .... She was winning then just stopped something isn't right and it wasn't her
its funny but terrible. I dont think he has any empathy for anything that doesnt benefit him. he is mocking someone who is struggling. shes young and she worked all of her childhood for her career and traumatised her body. dont think she quit because mental health struggles was trending on instragram. him with his body shape commenting on someone who put themselves trough hell and is in physical and mental pain all the time showed me who he really is. I liked him a lot.
@@elise9537she’s 27… she’s not exactly a child lol. The worlds a tough place, welcome to the world of comedy, where jabs are willing to be thrown in order to entertain. Not sure what surprised you here.
@rrar rarr she continued to keep making money. And good for her. It's a career like any other and she got her bag. Why risk killing yourself at the stupid Olympics when you've already succeeded that much.
I wish Tim could always play on a split screen over every news channel in america live 24-7. WAKE EM TIM! Thank you for all you do. Seriously love you man!
Of all the jokes I've ever heard about vegans/crossfiters/rescue dog interjecting those things into conversations, it doesn't come close to the anxiety-chiqe crowd bringing up their self-diagnosed depression.
Yeah he's got some solid manic ignorance. Wouldnt be hard to believe he's Roseanne & Alex Jones' love child🤡. Peterson has some problems in his own train of thought at times also
I was a gymnast for 5 years and I saw a couple coaches be real talkative to the high school girls. I also think that my growth was stunted due to being a gymnast.
I love this mother effer…I happen to play baseball and golf but I’m also a Carpenter? Lol i’m not CEO material to be completely honest lol I’m literally in tears
Tim Dillon is spot on about the fetishization of mental health. I have been formally diagnosed with a condition and take crucial meds for it, including side effects that while tough sometimes, are manageable. But countless people cling to their "mental illness" because it's become sexy and they just want to fit in. "I'm soooo OCD". No, Becky, when you have to vacuum the floor three times every morning the same way each time starting at exactly 7:05am, you have OCD. You just like having a clean and orderly apartment..
I don't think that is fetishizing OCD, I think that is people not understanding OCD. They think if you are annoyed by something not being a certain way, you have OCD. In real life, I haven't heard anyone say they have a mental illness when they don't. In any case, I would rather people self-diagnose and get help (which at worse will lead them to a psychologist who says there is nothing wrong), then live like I did with OCD for five years not understanding what was happening to me and wanting to die every day. I think more awareness is always going to come with people over analysing and over diagnosing themselves, but I think the harm from no awareness about mental illness is far worse.
@@bbbb8285 Nah, it fucking is fetishization. Just look at all the big social media pundits flapping their punchable lips about how they have some kind of self-diagnosed bs.
This applies to being an artist too. I dedicate most of my spare time to being a good musician but at the end of the day it doesn't fucking matter because maybe only a handful of people are actually gonna appreciate what I do, if I'm lucky. That's why I'm a drunk, because only when I'm drunk can I enjoy making music without the bad thoughts of reality
He's right about athletes not having minds. Listen to an interview with Simone or Lebron and try to keep your brain from melting. They do one thing. Stop admiring them.
@@orlandoolague9292 LeBron is not very bright at all, that's obvious. Doesn't stope admiring his play on the court and basketball IQ wise - he is a genius
I figure gymnastics involves some pretty risky maneuvers that require significant focus. If for some reason you can't get your head in it, you serve no one by pushing through and getting hurt. Like in Final Destination
Yeah meth is supposed to be a hell of a motivator. Im not surprised she didnt want to continue once they took the magic fairy dust away. Typical fucking tweeker
@@yeyuan6273 ada doesnt care about certain people if they have a "medical exemption". Remember the days of TRT Vitor and Lesnar? This is the same deal. They werent technically "doing drugs" because it was doctor prescribed, but we all know they were using PED's to gain an unfair advantage. To me if you cant compete without "medication", in this case amphetamines that just sounds like you should be relegated to the special olympics at best for your "medical condition", or outright disqualifies all together for using PEDs. Anybody that doesnt think amphetamine is a PED should research what the germans used it for. Call it debunked if you want. Im calling it REbunked. If you cant do it without drugs it isnt really you doing it.
He’s like the Urban dictionary version or Jordan Peterson. You listen to Tim when you need another version of what the “Mainstream media” is defining right and wrong.
gymnastics most definitely stunts growth, as does intense dance training from ages 3-18, 3-5 days a week. but i will admit, as a 28 year old, i do not have a weight problem. but is the child like body worth it?? my own mom used to pick up my clothes when they were fresh out the dryer and say “who’s baby clothes are you washing?” 😩 they were mine. she couldn’t believe the size clothes i wore, despite being 18 at that time. she then proceeded to ask me if she could “pay me to go buy bigger clothes”, because i “can’t wear clothes that look like babydoll clothes.” 🥴 that’s just my body. 🥴 i should’ve taken the money lmao
You need to get on ESPN to help them understand sports. Sideline interviewers ask athletes difficult questions they can't answer, or some activist gets an athlete thinking about social/cultural issues and ends their career like Kaepernick. Great rant.
I think Tim is 100 percent right. An athelete only requires a brain to circumvent the pain and fatigue signals they experience while the rest of us derive pleasure from their physical exertions. Other than that, their minds should just be on pause.
Goddamn of Tim isn't right about this. I have a perfectionist personality type and always tried to be the best and improve every aspect of my life. Constantly over analyzing everything I did wrong or couldve improved.. now I'm almost 30 and realized that shit doesn't make you happy, literally everything about that way of thinking is superficial and breeds a person with nothing more than bragging rights to people who couldn't give a fuck 1 way or another. So youre great/ talented/ good looking/ athletic whatever the fuck, nobody cares
She should be banned from the Olympics after selfishly quitting on her team and her country. There’s nothing heroic about that. She disgusts me. That spot could have gone to someone who really wanted it.
Also the sport automatically selects out larger females because of the physics of the movements. You can’t sustain that kind of load on your joints when you get bigger and are not a male.
People are just butt hurt If She went out missed a jump and broke something people would b like oh why would she do it if she didn’t feel 100%? It’s just the outrage culture looking for something to b outraged about. Let her sit it out Ain’t no biggie
@@GalacticNewsNetwork1 she was supposed to prove to the judges that she’s the best? that’s kind of the whole point of going to the Olympics, what kind of goat quits halfway through...
I would not put my children in gymnastics and it should definitely be a matter of concern these kids are physically stunted to perform impossible flips and tumbles.
at what point does a physical fitness record become unbreakable? like the absolute peak of human ability couldnt beat this record in whatever sport event.
