The gear reducer was used on fords with 3.91...4.11..and 4.30 rear gears. Dont loose it as $600 used, if you can even find one. What you need is a chevy screw on cable end. Easy to adapt to your mustang cable. Its called a drag pack cable...for 71 and 72 mustang.

I just put the gear into the side of the transmission and it seemed to fit fine. Do I need another adapter?

I thought muscle cars are rebuilt not I'll have this guy fix it for me!

Richard that is too much clack, I had a roller cam, roller lifters and roller rocker and you still have to adjust the lash for zero since it’s roller. Keep those reducers they are hard to find nowadays.

I hear you Mark. Jeff and I are going to have this conversation this week. This seems complicated and tricky to me but I'm watching videos and trying to figure this thing out (how to do it etc). More than likely, it will happen soon. Thanks again.

@@MuscleCarMadnessGarage Richard, it’s not that hard to do just a little time consuming, I can walk you through if needed. If you start with #1 cylinder and use the firing order you can knock it out quick.
