Are you crazy? Why the apology for not showing more progress? This is incredible, and the fact that you didn't see everything involved upfront - well yeah, life is full of surprises, and that doesn't take away the tiniest bit from your achievement!
Don't apologize! All your projects are extremely labor-intensive, and your work week is way more than 40 hours! And you have reminded us that while rehabbing the bathroom you have your daily chores as well as the remote jobs that make your life in Portugal possible.
I do hope the pink toilet bowl is now resplendent in the garden with Sweet Peas growing out of it👀😂👍. Always enjoy your shenanigans. Be sure to rest, love and laugh enough too. Xx
Honestly I love watching all you are up to. I always get excited to see your posts on Saturday mornings. Watching you two interract is probably the best part!! My favorite part of this video: You asking if you should chuck the toilet down the stairs and K laughing.
Actually, I loved this video, the head-banger music whilst blasting apart the pink wall, your honesty, humor, and -- thankfully -- humanity regarding shifting plans, like the rest of us. As Eisenhower said, "Plans are useless, but planning is indispensable.” So keep on planning, and scrap plans as needed. And don't be afraid to hurl the toilet down the stairs should the urge arise again. Might be mighty satisfying. :) Lee
However long or short, I just appreciate the fact u can drop us a video without too big a gap from last. It’s lovely to see progress .. however big or small you think they are (to us it’s all ‘big’, because it’s comparative to our own lack of action .. we’re living vicariously through you 2!!!) So keep it up. It’s great. Whatever u offer.
I don't know how you both find the energy and enthusiasm to keep going. Your hard work and dedication is commendable I for one, appreciate the hard work that goes into making and editing these videos and I thank you for giving us entertainment and never ending knowledge every week. Well done to you both.
It's like you're literally 'sculpting' a house. As an artist, it's very satisfying for me to watch those time-lapses. No apology needed here. Besides, the more surprises you uncover, the more there is for us to watch. Carry on. (And thanks for bringing us along).
I really enjoy these shorter, more condensed videos. We still all get to see the process and I hope it is easier to manage for you guys. The longer videos are great also and I am sure those will show up too as time and energy permits. It all looks so amazing!
Wow really feels like full circle. Back where it all began! Finally no more pink in the bathroom! It really feels like a major achievement for you guys. I really respect how you guys treat this huge undertaking. Also it’s amazing to watch you guys work. 😊 mad respect here.
You have a great vision for your home and super high standards for all your work, which, while it takes more time, will make your home a joy to live in. I have watched other RU-vidrs take a run down home and do it up in a few months but the results will never come even close to yours. To each their own, do what makes your heart sing.
love how your first video of the year talked about you slowing down, and then you've proceeded to work balls out since. really enjoying all the videos.
Knocking down that pink wall was so satisfying for all of us I think. Perhaps it turning into a grand make work project is just par for the course. Anyone who renovates at all knows the score and no apologies please, it was vey productive. All the best.
you guys are doing an amazing job.. this type of renovation is extreme, it is obvious that it will take you years to finish. There are only two people working so no need for an apology. thank you..
I personally like the go fast videos. You can see the work getting done, so maybe you need to look at it yourselves and give each other a pat on the back for all your hard work. You have done so much over the last year or so. Amazing.
From the smallest kitchen renovation, to the largest Chateau restoration, the one thing you can be sure of is that nothing goes to plan. No need to apologise. You two are hard working and conscientious. You do great work 😊❤
No matter what you decide to do it is interesting to see what it takes to work on a rock building. Really hard work and I commend you both for your hard work.
everything is great. no doubt, it is very interesting to watch. I miss your longer videos so much, even if you paint white on a white wall! 25-30 minutes with your wonderful dialogues! This video, if it were longer, I would also be happy to watch. You don't have to make an action-packed video. when you show your personality in a video, that's much more important to me.
Don't apologise - I am in awe of your stamina - watching you work exhausts me so goodness knows what it does to you! Don't overdo it - you don't want to burn out! 😍😍
I am happy to watch whatever you post. It's always entertaining and informative. It must be a little bittersweet to have the pink toilet and tiles gone; (NOT!) the end of an era. Very sexy pink toilet music, by the way! I actually loved watching the last coat? of plaster going on in your living room and to see the pink disappear to be replaced by a good, solid wall. Thank you for sharing your life with us. Have a wonderful week Guy and Kylie!
I know it doesn't feel like it, but you guys are making progress. And the work you just completed is necessary to get to where you want to be. It's all steps in the right direction and things are looking great.
Doing such an awesome job! Both of you are making incredible progress despite the fact you'll be side tracked beyond your control, several times a day! Your filming and working are extremely thought provoking and completely glues me to your videos! Thank you for sharing your journey!
When you first started I thought "wow look at that prison pink bathroom" 🤣 ....... you have covered a lot of ground over the last few years and I have learned a lot (watching you) about this kind of undertaking. Doing something right takes a long time so good on you and thanks for sharing!
I love what you guys are doing.Your wife is amazing.I don’t think she is afraid of anything. All men could use a woman like that around the house. You guys work so well together.Thank you for taking us through your life.Amazing, amazing you have come a long way.I still can’t wait to see you guys cooking..Ed from Michigan
Nope, that was just great so no need to apologise - but the explanation is so useful. 6 days of work in 10 minutes is incredible editing of course but we celebrate the removal of the boudoir pink pan - and tiles. The laughter off screen of the 'chuck it down the stairs' remark was enjoyable. Doing the plumbing in one video would have just been too much excitement for us watching! Thank you again...
Yes on the livestream. Never Never apologise for a short video, I for 1 look forward to having your videos each time they come on YT. I’m looking forward to seeing you finish your home in the next couple of years.
RIP the pink toilet - a strangely appropriate colour. And when you're finished, an amazing career as motivational speakers stroke marriage guidance awaits. Lovely. ; )
I am just grateful to see you two with your project moving forward. The intensity you had before was making me sore all over just thinking of how hard you both were working. I think it is looking wonderful and you are tasking different jobs and not just driving yourselves mad by over working every day. Can't wait to see more. Have a wonderful weekend and love from Italy
Your doing fine with the way your videos, love your up dates and the work you do turns out beautiful. You have so much to be proud of how much you've accomplished being its just the two of you!!! Looking forward to seeing your progress.
I've been following you guys for years now and it's never not interesting. I actually like how you've adapted to this 'problem' of getting overworked. It's nice to see you got the priorities straight and keep going om in a way that makes you feel good, makes the content much more enjoyable. I look out for your videos every week and admire how you shape your project into a dream come true. Keep at it, you make the world a better place...
Perfect soundtrack for tearing out pink tile!!! Renovating always takes more time then can be planned for. We had a small 1930's cottage home in California and a father in law that spent his life renovating homes. It still took a lot of time and we lived in the house along with the work, jobs, college and life. You 2 are amazing. An occasional live stream is a great idea and also you can create some smaller videos to share that are brief. Those are fun too especially when you get to parts that become more detailed. It is short bursts of information. Thanks for sharing it has been a great experience.
No apologies needed! I’m more than happy to see the work that took a week plus. Don’t go flogging yourselves silly just to get a video out! The trouble with whatever any of us do is “life gets in the way”. Life’s like that, what we plan in our minds somehow fails to materialise in practise. The job will take how ever long it takes, pleases don’t put yourselves under pressure.❤
I’ve been waiting for a new bathroom for 15 years, at the moment we have a shower cubicle with a shower curtain that sticks to my legs and bum 🤣🤣 apparently that’s what renovation is about, according to my husband. You are doing a grand job x
Goodbye pink toilet! Very nice video. Love watching the progress. It's "real life" - it doesnt need to be fancy. I do appreciate the great quality, but really just enjoy seeing the journey. Live stream could be fun if it doesn't feel too invasive.
Wow, that pink bathroom was incredible and so strange but pink was a big color in the 70's for kitchen and baths. The floor tiles were interesting with the design they made.
I thought you accomplished quite a bit. I can't wait to see it when you've finished. I do have to say your sound system is outstanding. I watch so many other DIYers and they do not have any kind of professional set up for sound. It's so hard to hear them. I come to watch you and I never have issues hearing and understanding you. Kudos for that as it makes watching you so much more enjoyable.
Frankly, I have started to follow so many Portuguese RU-vidrs that it’s actually really nice to get an update that doesn’t take a half hour of time. Not that I don’t like those too, but sometimes it’s good to see a quick update of your work. Also for your sake, hours of editing really don’t help you get your real world work done.
Love your videos no matter the subject. It is so interesting to see all the work that goes into bringing these old homes back to life. As you say “Crack On!”
I am amazed at the stone walls within the house. For some reason I didn't expect that. No wonder this project is going to be complicated. As for the "enjoyment" of seeing a pink toilet very gently (😮) removed, maybe someone who has animals nearby would appreciate a decorative water "bucket" in pink ceramic. 🤷
No...please no live stream! 😂 I was just thinking what a shame you hadn't found this property 20 years ago! While I love what you're doing, it's already a marathon 😊
Im so amazed by you two, you are doing such an awesome job bringing that beautiful old house back to life, you are extremely hard working there's no need to apologize for not doing work that you were planning to do You have come such a long way and it looks like that most of all the labor intensive work is done (well except for the upstairs bathroom that is) love the work you are doing and every time i watch you two makes me want to move back to Portugal and start renovaing my grandparents house Keep up the fabulous job you are doing but also take time to enjoy your life
Thank you for all of your videos which I really enjoy. And thank you for giving some context from time to time - like how long it really takes to do all of the work. I would enjoy a live stream once or twice. We renovated a small town house 12 years ago and changed our minds all the time while experiencing hurdles and drawbacks. I like to see, how you handle yours. Please - don't apologize - this is all part of the process.
100k pretty soon, ty for your videos and hard work through these last few years and would love to see a livestream Q&A maybe if you are up to something like that. Any content is good content no matter what, love your content regardless of what it is.
Lots of work going into a short video. I had a old white toilet and placed it in the garden against a wall, planted it full with flowers. It look very nice. I also have a old bath with fish in it. I am in the process to figure it out how to make a shower above the bath with a light and pump to let the shower on at night.
I won't accept that there wasn't enough progress! You're doing an incredible job and, I have to say, today's video was really enjoyable. This year you're making slightly shorter videos but I think the quality is better so I feel satisfied the same way ❤ On the other hand, I would like to mention the good bye to the pink tiles and toilet. It's been a long time! 😂 Good hard work team!
If the live stream involves banter i would watch. Love your relationship and iur hime is starting tolook amazing. Love seeing whatever url get up to. Good luck❤
I'm at the tailend of my project and can get discouraged at the amount of time and energy spent taking care of ALL the tiny little details even tho I know I'll turn the corner and BAM the project I'm doing (and all the bits and pieces that must be done to do that project) will be finished. Kind of like having toddlers. You seem to be in that season forever and then suddenly that toddler is graduating... So, let me (us) be your cheerleaders. You can do it! You've learned the most important lesson- slower, steady progress that allow room for life, friends and sleep is the most sustainable way to go about it. Crack on! (As an American I love saying that!)
It is a good thing you have so much stone rubble to fill in those walls! Can you imagine the amount of plaster you would need to fill in those holes?!! Step by step, you are getting there. I’ll keep watching…
I love the way you edited that I really like how you tell us how long each job took I did miss the some time has passed cut fillers maybe a Day one two three into the time lapse could help people understand just how much work it takes to get to the point you planned to be at in the starting intro.
Hay Guys, (no pun intended) it is amazing seeing you getting back to the upstairs bathroom, I have been watching you since you first bought the your property back in the day. You are doing an amazing job, I am a self builder, so I know how hard it is to make progress, particularly when you are a perfectionist(right Kylie). Just keep chipping away on daily basis, break the big job down into a series of small jobs, if you look at the whole job you can become overwhelmed by it, but when broken down into individual tasks, things won't seem so bad. P.
Oh my goodness.... this reminds me of many years ago when we had to deal with the same Pink problem lol and more wall paper on the ceiling than I ever cared to remove in my live . Oh and we had a Roman tub as well. - Good job guys, these are huge steps! The speed version makes it look so easy, but I know it is a ton of work!
Love this channel look forward to each video you bring, no need for apologies, I have been following your channel for a very long time. Remember when you all were redoing all the floors. Now you are down stairs finishing the basement area I guess it would be out the lower level. You both inspire me by all your hard work in doing things right and making it so amazingly beautiful. Keep up the amazing work, looking forward till you can move in out of the tent to a nice warm area and more comfortable for you both. Such a beautiful country to live in. Would love to see a live stream, it would be great to watch. I love watching the renovation, and the plastering of the walls.
