I found a transmission for my brothers 1960 Cadillac on craigslist and now I think its time to start working on it again. Amazon Store www.amazon.com/shop/bah53
As another commenter said...I've been watching for years and never knew about the Cadillac. The third Cadillac didn't seem too bad...maybe you should try to get two working Cadillacs out of three and have a "winter beater"?
I was NOT at all expecting this!!! Congrats on the parts cars, Brent. This was a very exciting video. Looking forward to seeing the progress of the Cadillac.
Controlled-coupling Hydramatic...4-speed non-overdrive. Not the same transmission as in the '63 Olds though. Make sure you keep track of and properly adjust the throttle linkage that runs between the carburetor and transmission. Won't shift right without it and will burn up quick.
The problem is, that the crankshaft must be rotated to access the flywheel to fluid coupling bolts. The fluid coupling does not just pull out from the pump, like a torque converter does. I removed a Jetaway transmission from a locked up 389 Pontiac engine, and had to break the transmission bell housing to get to the bolts. Was not a problem for me, as I was able to use the bell housing from the original transmission from the car. Don't know what to tell you on this. You may have to remove the crankshaft from the black, as you need the bell housing.
@@bah53 It is a pain in the ass to have to do that, but worth it. Those transmissions are expensive to repair/rebuild. Good luck with that. BTW, I have restored 61 Olds Super 88 "bubbletop" and a restored 55 Cadillac Coupe de'Ville.
