I'm in the minority I guess, YT shorts are a plague, and I remove notifications on any channel that starts uploading them. (I don't mind shorter videos, but the format YT shorts is just "Tik Tok RU-vid" imho) Writing this because I love TimeGhost uploads, but I don't want to be disappointed when I see a new upload and it's a "short". I would use Tik Tok if that's what I wanted...

I unironically agree, YT shorts are just Googles attempt to compete with Tic Tok. I'm not here to be excited about an upload and then it's 50 seconds.. notifications removed. I still love TimeGhost content, in fact I would not care about them making YT shorts if I didn't.

Damn... And here I thought Sparty and Indy wouldn't be wearing long pants anymore, but were going to wear whatever style of shorts were customary in whatever area they were covering. I'm sorry but I have a dissenting opinion. I love TimeGhost and related channels like WW2. I "subscribe with notifications". Shorts are for Tic Tok, I will remove notifications on any channel that does "RU-vid shorts". I'm *only* arguing about shorts on YT, they're fine on Instagram, Tic Tok, Twitter, etc but RU-vid should be long form, imho. This is not meant as critique against TimeGhost content.

Our shorts age 5 minutes long… they don’t fit on RU-vid shorts. We will use the RU-vid shorts format only for promotion. We can’t maintain our aspiration to quality and depth in one minute.

We mean the former - 5 minute videos - that’s what TimeGhost shorts are. We will only use RU-vid shorts kind as a promotion tool to get people to watch our full length videos.

Hate the shorts format. I've unsubscribed from a few channels I've been a long-time follower of that started putting these out, my feed is busy enough without been spammed by sub 1 min vids that use 1/3 of my screen. Please do it on a different channel till YT give me a way to opt out.

Our shorts are not RU-vidr shorts, they’re about 5 minutes long. We do have some promotion visits for the RU-vid Shorts format, but they shouldn’t spam you.

I truly don’t understand comments like this. In seven years of doing two world wars, the interwar years, and a variety of shorter docs has anyone, ANYONE, ever had any say in our content but us? Why would someone instantly assume that would change? You know how much money we’ve been offered over the years to produce content other than exactly what we want to produce? We’ve never done so and have no bizarre plans to start now.
