This is a video about Chinese history.
This video shows every main emperor of China.
China has a long history with united, divided, repeat. So, there are different emperors at the same time sometimes. I can't add all the emperors to the video. There also may be some mistake in this videos, sorry for that.
The dynasties included in the video are as follows:

Chinese history was so long that the timeline between the first king of xia dynasty and the middle of han dynasty (1 CE) is longer than the timeline between the middle of han dynasty (1 CE) and today.

It is such a big research! Very appreciated! As a Chinese I also don’t know bunch of them. There are lots of emperors between dynasties and they are very chaotic so that’s fine to exclude them. Still very impressive!

There's no Western and Eastern Tang! Only Tang Dynasty. Wu Zhou is just an interegnum of Tang Dynasty. Dynasties differentiate it whether it's Western or Eastern based on it's capital location. Examples: Western Han - Chang'an Eastern Han - Luoyang *Chang'an is located on the western side while Luoyang is on the east. Western Jin - Luoyang/Chang'an Eastern Jin - Jiankang (Nanking) Western Zhou - Fenghao Eastern Zhou - Luoyang Northern Song - Kaifeng Southern Song - Nanking Whereas Tang only has Chang'an as its capital.

Just inquiring. Was the very first Chinese ruler to declare himself Emperor(皇帝) not Qin Shi Huang(秦始皇)? If so, all previous rulers that preceded him were thus not Emperors but Kings(王).

even Qin Shi Huang is still considered inferior to huang di and yan di considering that everyone after them are called 炎黄子孙 (The descendants of yan and huang) In chinese history, 3皇5帝 (three huang five di) is the early descendants of the gods or the messenger of the gods. There were rumors that three huang five di were aliens but it was very fictional and very few Chinese actually believe that, considering there's an 2000+ year old book writing about the historical records that are passed down since the Xia Dynasty (note that Xia Dynasty started 4200 years ago) which have clear records about advanced technology sightings.

To simplify the explaination: -The ones you mentioned are Mythical Emperors prior to Xia Dynasty. -Xia, Shang and Zhou are considered Kingdoms only and ruled by "Wang" meaning King. (E.g. King Yu of Xia, King Tang of Shang and King Wu of Zhou) -Qin Dynasty is considered the First True Empire of China who unified all the warring states and pushed the boundaries further north (Mongolia) and south (Vietnam). First Centralized government and Has a lot of Firsts in history including the standardization programs. Ying Zheng is the first ruler to use the title "Huang Di" meaning Emperor.

@@jhengleone yep. Qin Shi Huang is the first ruler since to use the title of 皇帝 (Huang di)(even tho it's called emperor, but it's higher than normal emperors). Even the 3 Huang 5 di did not use 皇(Huang) and 帝(di) together during their reign. They are either called 皇 or 帝. (Look at the reply below this for more info) But still like I said, in the heart of Chinese, Qin Shi Huang is still considered inferior to 3 Huang 5 di.

@@jhengleone I'm not sure if you know about this Even tho 皇 (Huang) and 帝 (di) means emperor, 皇 is considered to be higher than 帝, as 皇 are considered rulers whom are descendants of Gods while 帝 is basically emperor. The reason 皇帝 is put together in this manner by Qin Shi Huang is to show that he is superior than the 3 huang 5 di as he is the emperor among all descendants of the gods. (About this info, I learnt that on a website but I'm not sure if it is legitimate or not) For me, it's quite an exaggeration for only uniting China tho lol. Some of the Chinese still don't think he deserved the 皇帝 title while some do.

It was counted because the Qing line counted them rightfully as part of their dynasty. Genghis Khan and his 5 other successor was there too and they didn't enter Song until Kublai. But they all counted because they fall under the Yuan line.
