The search for the former Yakima police officer suspected of killing two people, including his ex-wife outside a West Richland elementary school, and abducting a 1-year-old ended near Eugene, Oregon, on Tuesday.
Oregon State Police spotted 39-year-old Elias Huizar driving on Interstate 5 around 3 p.m. They initiated a pursuit, which ended with deputies reporting Huizar sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

I called it! So he impregnates a student as a RCO and loses his job then goes to other nearby school district to put other children at risk! Background check or not how does one school district hire him. Obviously his references went unchecked--recent places worked show up during background! They didn't find it odd a recent ex-officer is applying as substitute teacher? Red flags! Disgusting! Do a better job at keeping our kids safe!

Excellent work by law enforcement.....a fast apprehension. Still, it's a terrible tragedy that we see way too many of. There must be ways to prevent these, but those solutions remain elusive.
