SIR.. THANK YOU VERY VERY VERY MUCHH. I have the Slim Plus model. There is used to rubbing under 8 clicks. Now there isn't rubbing at 5 clicks. Now i can grind the finest turkish coffee. Best tutorial ever. God bless you.
Spot on video. Had my nano for over a year and never noticed. Took it apart and there was movement in the outer burr. The paperclip hack seems to do the trick and definitely improves movement. Well done spotting this. You should let timemore know
Just applied this mod to my Slim. It was spinning freely at 8 clicks before, and now it's spinning free at 7. The burrs touch ever so slightly at 6 clicks, which I would assume means my grinder is now performing to spec. My outer burr wasn't wiggling nearly as much as yours does in this video, but the mod still helped. I'm sure I won't notice a different in my brews, but it does help to alleviate the feeling that my grinder isn't performing like it's intended to. Like you, I'm looking at upgrading but rather than Comandante, I'm likely going to buy a 1zpresso JX Pro. Even with the issues, it's hard to argue that any companies beat Timemore when it comes to being affordable and travel friendly, so I'm going to keep my Slim, but this makes me wary of ever buying any of their more expensive grinders. It's a shame because the new Chestnut X looks super exciting.
Totally agree with you. I also know the 1Zpresso is a great hand grinder, and it was hard for me to choose between the two. I chose the Comandante C40 finally however. Let’s talk about it a little more once we both got our upgrades ;)
This helped A LOT! I had burrs touching at 10 clicks, now they spin freely at 6. I first tried just tighten the outer ring, but after using it once the burr was misaligned again. Paperclip is definitely the best solution. Thank you for the video!
How do you tighten the outer rings? I tried the paper clip but it didnt work. My outer burrs was also not moving at all. I think it is just misaligned. My burrs are touching even at 11 clicks
@@baristaodla7640 Just slightly unscrewed the ring, set the setting to 0 clicks, so the burrs naturally aligned with each other and then screwed it back as tightly as i could. But this will not work, as it will most definitely miss-align without anything to support it.
Thanks for the video, I had same problem with my timemore nano. I watched your video and used the paper clips as yours, My grinder can free spinning at 8 click, it’s better than before.
Thx a lot for this upgrade. I ve done this and now looks great. Before you modyfication my Nano grinder rub on 0-8 clicks, now after your idea friction start only from 0-4 clicks. Product after all became 100% useful. Already shared this video with my friend who use it every day.
if you tighten the inner burr tightly into outer birr before replacing the lock ring they will self aline each other even more and then tighten the ring to keep it in place. :) thanks for the idea for the paperclip!
@@baristaodla7640 The birr set is made of two parts. With the lock ring off, replace the outermost birr part into the grinder, then replace the inner birr part and tighten together. This will center everything, then add the lock ring to secure the newly alined outer birr into place. I did the paper clip trick and that works great, the steps I mentioned are an extra idea. :)
@@PA30000 owh, so like assembling all together again, but without the lock ring first? Is the lock ring the one with the (coarse fine) written on it? Should I take of the outer burrs too?
@@baristaodla7640Yes, On my Timemore Nano The lock ring has a row of large to small circles that represent coarseness. The strength of the lock ring tightened down on the outer burr is not huge, this is why placing the end of a paper clip into the gap is a good hack. The paper clip jams the outer birr into a fixed position. The hack I mention would help align the burrs even more before adding the paperclip to jam the outer burr in place, it is all clamped into place by adding the lock ring back in. !!!! The lock ring unscrews to the right as it has a reverse thread.!!!! You don't need to remove the outermost burr, but you will notice it can wobble very slightly about when the lockring is not in place. This tiny wobble represents the degree to witch the burrs could theoretically be misaligned. Hope this helps, :)
@@АнатолийАнатольевич-х8з да, я тоже до 4-х допилил ее. для турки оптимальный помол у меня на 5-ти получается, на 4-х много пыли, но все равно помол неравномерный, эта овальность сказывается. Не стоит она своих денег.
I tried this tips, but seems still doest work, my timemore still have friction even in 15 clicks When i check the shaft get a tiny bit wobble at the second bearing (the bottom one)
Sux it had to happen to this model. I wanted to buy this for travel but now Im having second thoughts. Nice mod! but yea I'd be upset if I have to do that for that price. how is it now?
Great fix! I tried to do it, but can’t get the ring unscrewed that holds the inner burr in place. Does anyone have some good advice on how to remove it? It looks very easy here, but mine won’t release… Did anyone have the same problem and managed to fix it?
Timemore products can you adjust me a website to order it From your practice is the Timemore nano to espresso ideal or have you a another grinder to preffer, thanks
No, the Timemore Nano is not ideal for espresso. Even though it produces coffee ground that is capable of making espresso, the steps are too big for dialing in espresso. From my experience, you can only pull espresso shots within three steps (7 to 9), which is definitely not ideal for espresso. Of course, if you are using pressurized baskets, or if you do not aim for high espresso quality, then it is perfectly fine.
@@pianocc534 ahh I see, I am not really aware about the grinder parts 😅. My timemore slim burrs touches even at a 11 click. I think I will give your solution a try soon. Thanks for the videooo ☺️🙏🏼
