I was expecting this product from Fellow for year for my espresso . Timemore came with the answer. Thank you Timemore.

Would love to see this compared to the Ode gen 2 w/ SSP MP burrs, especially with regards to clarity and fines. Amazing video, great work!!

I think Lance did that comparison or at least made a reference to this being his favorite budget grinder for filter / pour over (over the ODE with SSP MP). Pretty sure anyway.

Love to see an 064s / DF64 comparison as these seem to be direct competitors. The larger wattage motor in the DF64 has me scratching my head a wee bit regarding the smaller motor choice in the Sculptor.

Awesome Review! Just one question. How is the burr alignment out of the box?
@fatema____

Hey Pedro, great video! I wonder how the Eureka Mignon single dose grinder would compare to the 64mm version of the Timemore. I'm interested in the espresso grinders when they come out. Silly question but if you put a different metal catch cup underneath, would it still align with the magnet? I'm curious if the stock catch cup is 58mm in diameter. I can see that the 64mm version also has a different catch cup (shorter) and whether that has the same diameter. I suppose it wouldn't matter if you just use a dosing ring and pour the grinds in the portafilter that way so not the end of the world. I'd be keen on the white but worried about if it might yellow over time, or if that's even a concern.

I’m curious how their 180w 064 compares to their 400w 078. The kickstarter prices are pretty good but the 064 is less than half the wattage of the 078/078s.
@JohnZ556
@JohnZ556 Год назад
My guess is that the grind time will be near 2 times, and there will also be very noticeable differences in taste. For filter, the wattage is probably not a significant issue. I wonder if 064S would hold its performance over time under high-volume or light roast SOE.
@tomgreen2058
@tomgreen2058 Год назад
I'm wondering this, I picked up the 64 and 64s (one for filter and one for espresso) and I'm wondering if 180w is really enough for espresso. It is worth noting that the technology for the motor is fundamentally different for many other grinders; hall effect components can really make a difference.
@JohnZ556
@JohnZ556 Год назад
@@tomgreen2058 Ode2 is 140W with a bit lesser motor. Some people use it for espresso regardless. From what I see for 064s if you grind light roast on Turkish setting it will grind a bit before trigger the safety stop. That's good and bad depending on how you view it: They definitely built it adequately, but not that much more if you are really demanding.
@JohnZ556
@JohnZ556 Год назад
@@tomgreen2058 P64 for instance, having 300W brushless motor and it takes 20-30s for espresso. So I would expect almost double the time on 064s. Be careful not to run it more than a very few shots per day and avoid batch grinding if you want it to last.

@CoffeePartsTV
@CoffeePartsTV Год назад
We haven't tested the 078S with the new burrs that Timemore is developing, so can't really comment. However, I would assume for filter coffee, the filter only 078 will out-perfom the 078S.

@@CoffeePartsTV Build quality on the Timemore is better than DF83? I haven't used any of the Timemores, but theres a decent weight difference with the DF83 being heavier, but it's also larger most likely, and of course heavier weight doesn't necessarily mean it's higher build quality.

@@sebaba001 I can see chaff (and maybe some fines - it is difficult to tell from this video) clinging to it. I do not see any evidence of it "catching" anything, and certainly no substantial amount of fines (outside of static cling). If Timemore's definition of "catching" is "whatever clings to the exit nozzle," then, sure. But that isn't my definition.
@sebaba001
@sebaba001 Год назад
@Joe Tilman fines get caught by it. Doesnt claim to eliminate every single fine. Cant believe you argue semantics, its a nice touch and useful, and very easy to taste the difference with like half a gram of fines, try it yourself.

@@sebaba001 it seems you are missing the main point here. Eliminating chaff is more important than eliminating fines. Try to cup 1g of chaff and see how horrible it taste.
