The reason Mr.Batman only knew about the conclusion is because teachers use this site where they type in the essay and check if it was plagiarized.

I got accused of plagiarism because I used the word ‘thus’ in seventh grade and the teacher was convinced that a seventh grader wouldn’t know that word. She asked in front of the class how many people knew that word and everyone except like 3 people raised their hands. So she dropped it.

Honestly, I’d have taken that Public Speaking thing up with the school as a serious complaint. If they’re testing you on your Public Speaking skills, that’s a completely different thing to testing you on your Speechwriting skills. If anything, they should have given you the speeches to see what flair and skill you bring to them. It’s an oracy class, not a writing class. To fail it for plagiarising a speech is unfair and definitely complaint-worthy.

I plagiarized twice. Once I handed in a copy pasted like 30 page science report in middle school where only the first couple pages were written by me. Teacher knew it was sketch but couldn’t prove it at the time so I got away with it. Second time I just handed in a book report that I had written for another class a year or two prior, and my mother found out and told the teacher and THAT I got in trouble for. Plagiarizing myself. 🤦🏽‍♂️

I failed a subject because I did "self plagiarism" seriously I filed a complaint to the school. At the time I didn't know it was illegal to use one assignment for two classes. Self plagiarism was never mentioned in the student handbook or was discussed during orientation. I won and ended up getting the lowest passing grade.

Here's how I never got in trouble for plagiarism, I just copy, paste, edit. So I edit the copied text, that way it looks more like I wrote it myself, instead of copying it from some website.

Funny how my school doesn't take any sort of action plagiarising homework. Also, every student that I know who always copy in every test and exam, have never been caught before. Skills.

One thing I didn't realize till I started taking dual credit classes is that you can actually plagiarize yourself

In sixth grade, there was this girl that I thought was suitable to be a friend (this was a mistake). Let's call her Burger King. My class was assigned a presentation where we can talk about literally anything we want. I think the topic I picked was about sugar. We had the option to work as a partner, and Burger King wasn't the sharpest of the class, so inevitably, she turned to me. And since I was an idiot, I said yes. And this girl was doing absolutely NOTHING. She would literally talk to her one friend while I worked. I told her to start helping me, and she still didn't. So I decided to make her do her own project. Fast forward to a couple weeks later, I wasn't happy with my presentation. So I chose a whole other topic and made a whole other presentation. On presentation day, I showed the second product. But when Burger King when to present, she spat out the very same information I had in the first presentation. She didn't get punished because 11-year-old me was too stupid to tell someone. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

So I take college classes although I'm in hs and I had to write a 4-5 page essay and since I didn't have enough words to make it to the 4th page I went online and looked up some articles. My teacher today told us that not only 1 but 5 people plagiarized. I wasn't scared because I had changed some of the words but when I checked my grade I had a 0 and my heart dropped. After class I went to the teacher and he asked me if i plagiarized and I lied... He continued asking me and showing me evidence where my writing was almost the same but i kept denying it. And where i live they take plagiarizing very seriously where you cannot enter university in the entire state and have to go to another country. I finally gave in and told him i did... I feel guilty and almost cried but he said he wasn't going to report me and make me change class. Although since I lied he said he will still think about it... I'm too afraid to tell anyone in my family cause I know they will be disappointed and have to live with this awful guilty feeling. I'm hoping that he let's me stay and won't report me or else idk how I'm going to tell my family... I'm legit scared cause my future can be ruined and I'm hiding it from everyone cause I'm supposed to be "smart" and I'll just be embarrassed... I'll update you guys if he does or doesn't kick me out so please don't plagiarize. Update: He let me stay in his classroom and he's acting like nothing happened which is unsettling. Whenever I see him I'm tense and on guard and when I walk to his class I'm always trembling. Hopefully I can change to regular classes the 2nd semester because this is detoriating my mental health.

The fact that i JUST watched CGP Grey's video about pennies and then coincidentally clicked on this video right after is just..i dont know.

Heres my tip: Copy and paste something onto your project. once you edit the text font and size, edit the text a little bit. e.g: Joyful --> Happy. then go onto Grammarly plagiarize thingy, and see if it can detect plagiarism. Im pretty sure thats how a lot of teachers find out you've been copyrighting, so edit the text until grammarly cant figure out its been plagiarized.
