Love your rambling! I started at the beginning of your channel and am very impressed with your knitting skills and love your fun attitude to life! I love the word “bespoke.” 💫❤️💫

St George is the patron saint of England. As a child I grew up with lots of stories of George and the dragon

Yes! And the dragon is on the Welsh flag! I felt very silly when I didn't make that connection...

Loved the fascinating discussion regarding advent & church music/worship. Please play Helmsly for us sometime...do i have to wait for next advent?! 'So excited for you, for new job & location! Very very helpful practical helps/hints for steeking. I feel much braver to actually attempt a steek now...maybe this year for sweater knitting. Thanks Emma!🥰🧶🧶🧶

I am going to jump in and knit the Throwback cardi - will be my first steek experience. Thanks for the inspiration!

So much math 😓 going to need your help going the opposite way - cardigan to pullover!

I love your videos! Maybe you could do a steek knit along. Your sweater knowledge is incredible

Love your sweater and your new digs. Thanks for the low down on changing a pullover to a cardigan. I enjoyed your ramble about church music and Advent. I too am an Anglican (Canadian). My son and daughter were servers (modern term for alter boy). They went to Catholic School for a few years and my daughter was not allowed to serve during their mass (no girls allowed with those Catholics). When some famous bishop came, my son and his best friend (also an Anglican) were allowed to serve and the bishop commended them as the best of the bunch- go Anglican go Anglican- lol! I was a greeter (new term for sidesman lol) and sang in our church folk choir, so can relate to the choir and server robes. The music was my favorite part of most services- prayer in song and really builds community! I served in many roles in the church- chair of women’s work for the diocese, secretariat of Cursillo and such . The church s pretty liberal but has a LONG way to go yet! That’s my rant- I am now mostly a heathen, but a life time in the church still holds.

Thank you for sharing this! I went to the historically Anglican college at U of T and an Anglican Church there and it was so wonderful. Lots of fantastic music.

I will definitely have to refer back to this video if I want to turn a sweater pattern into a cardigan pattern. I wish your thumbnail was you holding that mannequin head though! You two looked so cozy. 🤣

Heritage is available from Schoolhouse Press. Not sure why you don’t mention them anymore, esp since they stock the entire spindrift range. Is it because of TWT? I love them, but schoolhouse press is great too.

Still can’t get why you add one stitch and how do you pick up button band before cutting the Steek? Maybe I missed something. So nice of you to explain everything. Thank you.

Good question! You add a stitch so that the yoke is symmetrical. If there is an 8-stitch repeat, for instance, you want to start and finish with stitch 1 of the repeat so that it is the same on each front of the cardigan. For the buttonband, I recommend knitting fully through each stitch next to the purled steek stitch (i.e. insert needle through the full V) instead of along a cut or folded edge. This is a bit hard to explain, but tutorials may come someday! After I pick up and knit the buttonbands, then I cut the steek open. Before blocking the buttonbands tend to curl outwards anyway, so they don’t get in the way. I am just really concerned that picking up and knitting stitches along an already-cut steek bridge will disturb and pull on a thread if I make a sudden wrong movement with a needle!

Did you say that you waxed your basement walls?

I didn’t, but the owners might have- it’s just painted and very clean and dry! Hoping the yarn stays safe.
