Funny I’m watching this from the carribean. We’re here for the week. Yes that teal on the Steingass sweater does look like the turquoise water here.

That is amazing! I hope to see it someday...we never went on tropical vacations when I was growing up. The warmest it got for me was Arizona to visit my uncle once in February!

I knit with mostly reclaimed sweaters so a lot of ramen-esk yarn. I unravel the sweater onto/around my ironing board then steam it before balling it up. Very quick, no snarls and almost as smooth as new. I got my first glasses in first grade. I clearly recall picking out pink sparkly frames and my mother asking if I was sure, that I would be wearing them for a long time. 'Moooom, I won't get tired of them, PLEEEASE! ' Of course it took a very short time. I have the school pictures to remind me of how wise she was, and I learned a lesson that has stuck with me for about 55 years.

That is a very good idea when unraveling!! And yes, first grade is never a good time to choose glasses...I bet you still looked great in the school picture, though!

I found a knitting project bag once in the street. It was near a bus stop and rainy. I advertised in Craigslist “found knitting” and put paper signs up but I never found the owner. There was two almost finished projects inside….a cowl with Malabrigo yummy yarn and a baby sweater (also malabrigo). I finished both projects (had to buy the patterns because they weren’t in the bag) and scored two nice needles. I still have the cowl and gave the baby sweater to a family.

This made me laugh - today I'm wearing a teal handknit sweater (Brooklyn Tweed Loft in Tartan); a pair of plaid teal socks, and have two pairs of teal eyeglasses. I'm thinking there's a unifying color story in my wardrobe...

My granddaughter who is 11 is obsessed with teal! She even dyed streaks in her hair with teal. She is quite girl and has been on stage at the Flynn, your local theatre, stole the show in Annie!

Oh my gosh that is so great!! I played Annie when I was 11 at Edmunds, which is about two blocks from the Flynn! I bet she was totally fab.

I love teal too! Great glasses! Love all your teal treasures! Thanks for the tips. I have knit for years but mainly baby sweaters, hats and mitts- more recently socks, but my colour work ventures have all been pretty simple. My daughter and family are going to Scandinavia for a holiday in a few years and she wants me to knit colour work sweaters for all of them - the hunt for which patterns she wants and what yarns (she likely won’t want the coarseness of Lopi types of yarn so I will need to find a good compromise). My SIL has picked a Tin Can Knits pattern, my little granddaughter will be easy. However, my daughter has a big bust and finds colour work yokes accentuate her bust, so we are hunting for options- I have found cardigans that work, but she wants a pullover. Do you have any suggestions of patterns that might work?

Check out Beaverslide Dry Goods. The yarn is affordable, very soft once blocked very " natural" before. I think you'll like it!

Oh yes! I have used their fingering weight yarn for a sweater and I was amazed at how little yarn it took - the sweater weighs less than 200g! And it is one of my softest sweaters.

I do love that teal fade...and your whole riff on love of teal. Also..."hotter than Hades" is a nice workaround for the other phrase:) I'm wondering what you're casting on for TWT colorwork KAL, but maybe that will be in your most recent episode. I'm just catching up.
