I personally loved this game. You get to BLOW UP THE FUCKING OCEAN for Mr Torque.

It had the excuse that it was developed in a pandemic (and experimental) but its sequel does not have that excuse so we have every right to expect far better

Wonderlands was a great game for a play through. Great story, and great villain with a good gameplay it’s just the lack of end game that ruins it.

Currently playing this game with my buddy, we're having a good time, I'm a spells only graveshot and my buddy is a trigger happy stabbomancer. I understand that its a DnD parody, so alot of it is just Gearboxes version of DnD adapted into a borderlands game, and its just enjoyable imo.

I was confused by the appearance of this game because we'd already had it, in Borderlands 2 DLC. Tina has already taken us on a DnD adventure, with actual character development and story. Why would we do it again?

I bought it and played it. I actually found enjoyable up to chaos 10. If drop rates were set at an across the board rating instead of depending on dice and kept raids and chaos chambers separate I would’ve given it more time.

Imagine if it actually got real post launch support like borderlands 2. Or at least borderlands 1. it would’ve at least been replay-able with some good dlc

I personally liked the game but I finished it once, I saw the end game and deleted it and went back to borderlands 2

I actually really loved wonderlands at launch. The story was enjoyable, the game play was on par with borderlands 3, and I thought the Dragon Lord was pretty entertaining. That said, the endgame is what lost me entirely. Although I didn’t mind chaos chambers (before they added 100 of them), the game needed more raid bosses and story-driven content, which the dlcs didn’t deliver. I remember thinking that if this game had great dlcs, it could be up there as one of the best in the franchise. Unfortunately, that never came to fruition.

The biggest problem with it was just lack of replayability the no new game plus ruined it for me thats always been part of borderlands identity thats sold the series for me its always cool replaying through a story with all the cool gear you found by the end of the game the story was leagues better then bl3 so its actually fun to play through whats the point of having good guns if theres nothing to do cause chaos chamber is boring asfk to me ive never been a fan of the round based missions in borderlands personally.

I remember my bud enjoying a single playthrough of this and when I saw what it offered, it didn't interest me. I haven't had a Borderlands itch and when I revisit say BL3 or BL2: it just smacks me how much the franchise has missed just by utter competence and feel bad for any dev who works on these due to someone like Randy or higher guys rejecting the most basic ideas.

I feel that this game was actually pretty solid for what it is. Clearly this was some kind of experimental project where they saw people aching for some TTADK themed stuff and they wanted to try their hand at making a whole game based around the concept, and I feel like they did pretty well for someone experiencing the game for the first time. That being said, it is unfortunate that the game never really got much support afterwards and the effort they put into the post game was minimal. I am hoping that they have listened to the community and plan on reworking some cons and adding quality of life changes in the sequel, making it a game that actually holds up to what people are expecting just like the transition from BL1 to BL2.

i cant wait to see you, mak and thicc with bl4 being honest and upfront about it. question since gearbox rarely learns from mistakes since mak is forever off the team will they do a battlepass and mtx's like they were planning for 3?

To be honest, they even screwed up the addition of melee weapons. It was suppose to be an all new weapon type like pistol, assault rifle, shotgun, etc but instead it’s basically just a reskin of your melee attack. You did too little damage even with a dedicated build, holding a bladed weapon to do better damage just defeats the whole purpose, and to top it off most bosses and some enemies couldn’t even be meleed. However, being able to have 2 skill trees from different classes was handled well and the best new addition that should obviously come back, it was the only reason I played the game longer than I wanted to.

The wizard class with a one shot pistol and dual casting spells just walks through the game on super easy mode.

Wonderlands is quite literally the *only* game I’ve ever found myself so thoroughly disgusted with the developers responsible that I couldn’t bring myself to play it anymore. Invariably my philosophy is: “if it’s fun I’ll play it who cares about the suits my time is valuable and I want to enjoy myself” but they behaved like such complete and utter scumbags I was actively having less fun after each update. And this is without even factoring in the chaos chambers. Such a shame how this turned out.

I can understand that having a Fatemaker who doesn't "make Fate" is weird, but by the same logic our characters weren't really Vault Hunters in the older games either. We always just followed the ones who got there first. Steele opened the vault in BL1, Jack did in BL2, Zarpedon did in TPS, and Vallory did it in TFTBL, tho this can be debated since the vault needed to be reopened. So the first time we play as a so called Vault Hunter - who both opened a vault and fought the monster inside it - was either Rhys and Fiona, or - ironically - in BL3 with the Promethea vault. But come on, it's a tabletop game withing a game franchise. Why would their title be Vault Hunter in a fantasy setting of a role playing game ? :D Also, Tina IS expanded upon, but Wonderlands chronologically takes place either before the Commander Lilith DLC where the B Team is formed, or between that and BL3 where she is grown. This is TINY Tina, with her grief still lingering, trying to cope. I thought this was pretty obvious.

I personally love this game because i play this with my older brother and im making good memories and the ocean is CRAZY and some of the side quests are amazing and feel like main story quests the plant one after you blow up the ocean and teh soul system is amazing the spells and skills are cool and the intro animation is amazing with the hate on the newbie and the gun system is kinda cool like having a billion different weapons unique on there on way and the legendary items are actually nice

I really really enjoyed Wonderlands on the first 1-2 playthroughs. Meaning start a new hero. And for you to say that you enjoyed it on your first playthrough makes it weird that you don't recommend anyone playing it. There are many games out there that are 1-2 playthrough games that are great. The side quests in Wonderlands were among the best side quests out of the whole Borderlands series imo. Yeah there's no endgame. And that's fine. The combat, especially the melee combat is super fluid and fun.

I tried playing this with my dad, and it was ok, but it could've been a LOT better, and the splitscreen Co-Op crashing just pissed me off lmao

Base game was fine with those 4 small "side quest" in overworld like small DLC that were 2/3 hours long each. If game had 4 big DLCs like BL3 it would be awesome

I played the first few levels and left it for a while, then I forgot I had it, no desire to pick up where I left off. But back on B2.

I enjoyed my first playthrough, but there was no replayability and no real support from gearbox

When they first increased the Chaos levels, I jokingly commented under a video that their next step would be to increase it to 100 next. I hated being right about that. I slogged through the first increase, but I think I didn't even bother finishing the CL100 once. I might have stopped at around 70ish. I had played the entire main game once, and the only incense for playing it again was for a friend of mine to watch via Discord. The biggest gripe I had was the melee integration. I LOVE melee. I especially love melee in shooters. The melee weapons also were somewhat viable. Mostly outclassed by guns, but still very strong - UNTIL the final boss, which is a mandatory fight, has several phases that are completely unreachable by melee, as well as some other side quest bosses haveing the same issue, and I think 2 of the PLC bosses as well. "Here, have some melee. But screw you if you want to be a purist about it!" Then they added guns that melee bonuses. Which is crap, for two reasons: 1) They were stronger than actually melee'ing, so the solution to melee problems was simply not playing melee, but just scaling off the melee stat. 2) It simply felt like not playing melee. They deny the fantasy that they themselves were giving me, of running into enemies and hacking at them, or smashing them to bits. But yeah, Wonderlands is a GREAT game for a single playthrough. If you can grab it for 20€, you'll have a wonderful time for that money. Just don't replay it for a while and don't bother with the endgame.

Borderlands 2 was really a special game, and Tiny Tina was definitely a big part of it. She was very well writen, as every other character. Her quirks have a meaning and the more you get to know her the more you care. Even the RPG session on the DLC adds a lot of meaning to her behavior. It's the reason I came to hate her on every other game. She never matured, she never grew up, they kept her as this caricature of herself, deprived of any depth, meaning or development. Quirks alone can't sustain a character, and Tiny Tina's Wonderlands was yet another game that tried to capitilize on her quirks. That just doesn't work, that doesn't resonate with the audience, specially those who played the Godtier game Borderlands 2. Unless they understand why that game was succesful, every new release will be met with indiference.

Seriously, they need a Borderlands 4 with Tina as a playable vault hunter. I could imagine some of her skill tree including things like "All Tina's grenades have MIRV (5, 8, 10, 12, 16, depending on how many points are spent) ability. If your Grenade mod already has MIRV ability, each of the child grenades also has the MIRV ability granted by the grenade mod." and "All your grenades have the Homing ability, If your grenade mod also has homing ability, homing speed is doubled" and "Tina can use grenades during Fight for your Life" and "If Tina is out of grenades, using the grenade ability consumes one non-equipped grenade mod to fill her grenade capacity" The "All your grenades have...(whatever)" skills would be in different trees at tier 3. These kind of skills would give us the Tiny Tina we all want to see.

The potential of this game alone got me so excited. Back before it released, my DnD buddies and I talked about this game and what kind of weapons, guns, stories, characters, places, and whatever else they could add from the DnD manuals or other inspiration to Wonderlands. We all played it when it came out, which we all had a good time with it, but once your done with the first playthrough you start to see the actual issue. For me personally, I am such a Borderlands fan, this was just fun for me to play. Not that it didn't have it's issues(it definitely does), but having that new coat of paint for basically the same game was enough for me to enjoy this on it's own because it's different enough where I can play it when I'm bored of the other games.

when the chaotic great edition was on sale for like 80% on christmass i bought it. i mean, if you got it just because you want to play more of what you already like then it's good it pained me to realise however that the only bit of extra content are 4 takedowns, and not only that, the next level edition doesnt even include them, as it came for free on PSplus and couldnt play them with a friend that was on ps4 because he needed to buy them

God I remember when I first picked up Wonderlands on launch lmao. It was fun. Tons of fun. I was enjoying exploring the maps, finding new cool loot and secrets, playing the sub missions, messing around with my class and the multi-class system, there was a lot of good fun to be had here. But that's all it was, strong foundations. Foundations that after end game and some Chaos Chamber playing, after I had beaten all 4 raid bosses, I jjst sat back and waited and wondered, "Well that was fun, I wonder what's next? I can't wait to see what updates and additions they have in store for the game." Well here we are now and since then I have never picked the game back up. Not even since after they added those Mirror things. I just didn't have any incentive to play anymore. What a load of dung like actually wtf? Gearbox had a very strong foundation for a very special game to stand on, but they kept it barren and naked and empty. It was just sad to see how quickly Gearbox dropped the game's development. It could in a weird way have been like the TPS we never got, an extra BL game for the franchise aside from the main numbered entries that is as big and vast as one of them. Welp that never happened. I remember coming up with ideas as to possible DLCs with my friends. Ideas of different fantasy like places and settings Tina could think up of. Maybe having some other BL characters like Marcus or Brick or Mordecai make their own smaller-set DLC-sized campaigns where they tell the story and are the Bunker Master lol. Yeah we all ended up forgetting Wonderlands existed after a while 😂. Fkn pathetic honestly.

i dont know if you mentioned the loot dice but i found it to be cool but tedious. i was happy to find one but i was never happy with what it dropped

New borderlands player here, I just came from the top five worst players vids and tiny tinas wonderlands was my first introduction to the whole borderland universe and I had a real ball with the game it was fun, feeling like a hero, going on magical adventures with my friend who joined me and I had an absolute blast with it and I plan on buying Pandora's box edition and give all of the main line games a try and hopefully enjoy them too. Only thing I hated was the servers kicking my friend out and I had to jump the rings to get us back on 😅

Just for the record, I loved Wonderlands and because it was based off Tina's whole D&B campaigns I kinda knew what to expect. Good game but it did feel like Gearbox kinda stopped caring about it

Wonderlands is BY FAR my favorite borderlands game. The enemies are way better then in borderlands.

You don't do CC 99 times, you can skip 5 levels at a time until level 50, then you have to do the rest one by one for some reason.

Spells are not lame grenade mods, at least in my opinion. Could just be that I don’t vibe with grenade builds too much but I never really end up using them unless I have a fastball, or a slag nade in bl2. I really enjoyed the spell slinger and its ability to spam magic. I’m also bias as a dungeon master irl so there’s that lol

The only thing that still catches my curiosity is what I thought were the X-com Vipers cameoing in the Pirate sections. Considering the fact that 2K owns both Borderlands and X-com, I thought that would've been funny and cool to see like some Content Crossovers. But this was probably just a coincidence and not intentional.

It still upsets me that I pre-ordered this game and got the special edition that included all the "DLCs" or what I thought was promised as DLCs at the time due to my faithfulness to the franchise of the Borderlands games, also bc doing that was usually $10-15 dollars cheaper than buying them individually. Because of this I will never do it again especially not for Gearbox

I played for the first hour the skeleton boss fight was good the introduction to the town was good then you go to the next areas where you just get a guy in a screaming echo in bs at you then going into a cave of nothing got bored and never touched it again i probably got better but i dont have anyone else playing coop which also killed it for me as i always play coop for borderlands games

As a borderlands fan I have never played this game, I was extremely busy when it released so I didn’t even bother with it, then hearing all the backlash I just skipped it. I do want to visit it one day. I did buy it with all the DLC for about £15 so that’s not too bad.

Borderlands is all about the endgame, replay value and dlc while Wonderlands didn’t have any of that

Personally I think the biggest problem was making it for teens. That and adding modern comments, like vending machine congratulating you for surviving capitalism. It was built up like it was a full game in the style of dragons keep. Then get lectured by a teenage Tina about name calling when as an adult she does it in B3. But demonic possession, that’s fine. I preordered chaotic edition, but after this (and plc bullshine), as well as making tales 2 cannon. B4 though I will give the movie a chance unless it’s rated teen then I’ll pass.

Remember you're playing a board game within the Wonderland The game was too small but had great experimentation towards applications for Borderlands 4 I was over all frustrated with the length but the playability was great

if TT Wonderlands 2 come out out I would like for them to fix their mistakes but also allowing me to use melee weapons again the dopamine I get when I run up and smack the shit out of an enemy with a slow but powerful melee attack and watching them fly hits different

I mean, people seem to forget this is a spin-off. I like it as it’s own thing and don’t associate it with the core borderlands. It is its own game to me

The failure to add any sort of new game plus killed it for me even just a campaign reset button would of been fine, I know its not for everyone but I enjoy replaying at max and farming as I go thats how I have always enjoyed these games

My biggest gripe with this game is that they treat it like an MMO, theres no overpowered builds theres no builds that take you to chaos 100 i got hard stuck at chaos 35 because i cant min-max my character to actually do damage to anything. Everything that did damage in this game they nerfed until it couldnt be used. And i understand that one build being used is bad but the solution isnt make that build bad its to make other builds more usable than them. Spells and pixies is all you can use in this game.

It was still a good game for what it was I got the platinum to the game it was great I didn't bother with the chaos chamber. I just got to level 20 chaos in stop there because that's what the trophy required.

Fun for a playthrough but then there's literally nothing left to do other than the boring same old chaos chambers and dlcs that have a half hour of playtime at the most (btw I never even bought the dlcs just like you)

What still baffles me about this game is how not whacky it is. It's a full fantasy game run by Tina, but it feels... pretty standard. Other than a few things, like blowing up the ocean. It feels less whacky and more standard than a main Borderlands game. They could have made things a lot more weird and unpredictable than they did. Also, a thing I noticed about both this game and BL3 is they have a bad tendency to introduce a character, then drop them and forget they exist. Like... Lorelei is there for Promethea, then you never hear from her after that. Clay is the Eden-6 character, then you never hear from him. Both games have so many characters that are just in and out. And there will always be SOME characters like that, but it shouldn't be ALL of them

I thought that PLC stood for Players Loosing Choice. Also, instead of of the tiny Tina games and tales from the borderlands games. Gearbox should've focused on quality of life patches for bl1, bl2, and bltps like MAK said.

This was actually the first BL game that I just stopped playing and Uninstaller. With all the others, I not only felt compelled to finish, but afterwards, I wanted to go back and play prequels and then sequels.

fun fact, I thought this was literally just the tiny tina from borderlands 2 just as a standalone game. Like same plot and gameplay from the dlc. It made me so confused, since it looked the same as the dlc. I had no idea it has a different plot if it does lmao

I'd say we like it actually quiet a bit. Got it on sale for around 10€ and played in a group of 3 ans it was fun. Some of the jokes were good, the Tabletop Overworld was very charming. Just a decent game that is also playable on Steam Deck. Give it a try.

After Borderlands 3 left me feeling so disappointed I had no care in the world to play another Borderlands game or even a Gearbox game especially since I preordered it back when I was streamlining preorders like a junky my last being Cyberpunk. Until I was so excited to see the anti woke Stellar Blade that I put my money up because I wanted to get more games like it and less games that are touched by Sweet Baby Inc

I have played all the games and DLC's. But I could not get into Wonderlands. The guns are weird, I didn't understand a bunch of the skills and buffs and thought becoming a bobble head and running across a D&D board could have been done in a much cooler fashion.

Regressing to BL1's lack of a playthrough reset option because you falsely assume the problem is multiple playthroughs rather than the painful story pacing of BL3 and the complete lack of a reason to play tvhm in it. :(

Outside the things you pointed out, my biggest gripe was how the game still focused on guns. We had a character a decade ago that should have been focused on melee, and the loot lists should have included them as options to equip instead of a gun, so the attack button would activate melee attacks. This would have led into BL3 and Amara with her focus on melee. Instead, Amara works best when equipped with a specific GUN that fires punches. Then, TTW would have had it built in that fantasy RPG characters could choose to use melee weapons instead of ranged weapons (go figure, right?). Instead, they kept to the 'everyone loves guns!! Why would they ever want to use melee instead??' crap... despite having characters that would definitely choose melee since the second frikkin game.

I didn't even realize it was a standalone game. I thought it was just a DLC for the main Borderlands game. Apparently I've been away from borderlands for too long.

The only dlc I bought for this game was the one that added the Shaman class. The rest I couldn’t care less about.

If they fixed the small level cap, endgame and no overworld we could have a good wonderlands 2. Also dedicated drops

Buttstallion's death was kind of like Roland's in borderlands 2, and the story would've been better if she'd have stayed dead, and after a couple missions I forgot about her lmao

I enjoyed Wonderlands for the short campaign, it had more laughs for me than Borderlands 3. It was way too short though, and its replayability is low. They should have released more content for it, but let it die to work on B4.

I think the saddest thing about tinas wonderlands is how it just makes want to play any other medieval fantasy game

It failed because of the structure of the game. The BIG issues for me were - No NG+, really. So just as you leveled to max so now can't use build - No story DLC. Perfect setting for big story DLC but no, chaos chambers - F^&k chaos chambers, they were just boring as F. I enjoyed my one and only play through the story though :)

i gave the game like 3 whole playthroughs, i think coming back and running through the story every so often is pretty much the best this game has going for it, which is admittedly how i like playing Borderlands mostly anyways. not having extra story content DLCs to either get even wackier with the setting or flesh out some of the interesting characters the game introduces was a huge mistake and of course the chaos chambers are kinda shit. although i will give the caveat that i'd actually like to see chaos chambers or something similar return to borderlands or maybe an eventual wonderlands sequel, but it absolutely CAN NOT be the only offering for endgame activities and loot needs to be target farmable more efficiently. i just think the randomized rogue-lite style dungeon runs is a good addition to the franchise it's just the execution was... messy.

I'm likely in the minority here, since Borderlands is famous for its guns, but I think this game should have been bold by getting rid of guns *completely* and fully embracing the medieval fantasy setting. The closest thing to guns in my opinion should have been crossbows, and there should have been an even stronger focus on melee weapons and magic. That would have really distinguished it from the main games and given it its own identity.
