Welcome to my new series called Tip-sy Tuesday where I will show you tutorials on some basics of cross stitching.
In this first episode, I will show you some methods of how you can start and end your threads at the front. Of course, this is just how I do it - you may do this differently but wanted to show it for others in case they would be interested.
If you like this video, please like and subscribe. Really appreciate it!

Happy Stitching!

I have seen a lot of tutorials on these methods, and your tutorial was the best. You did them slowly, spoke in a soothing voice and your camera angle was spot on so I could stop and start as I needed to fully understand the methods. THANK you so much! I have saved a link to your video in my list of best tutorials for future reference. Please feel free to make more tutorials. Thank you for sharing your skills with us.

Thank you so much for this tutorial! But how can you end single stitches (on HAEDs) on 28 ct fabric using 2x1 Tent stitch? I tried tucking the tails on the back but it’s getting really bulky. PLEASE HELP!
@BernStitches
@BernStitches 8 месяцев назад
Ah sorry I’m actually not sure! I don’t stitch on HAED’s. What if you park the thread somewhere where other threads will go over it then you can snip it when it’s covered?
@charlottesantos4199
@charlottesantos4199 4 месяца назад
I haven’t done a HAED either but I have watched another just pull the tread out from the front a few stitches away and snipped close to the cloth instead of parking it because the color was finished or they didn’t want the bulkiness on the back. I can doing this way because another thread would tie it in. I hope that helps and I explained it well. Happy stitching. One day a HAED for me, but will do a mini first.
@charlottesantos4199
@charlottesantos4199 4 месяца назад
Edit: … so where they add another color that thread will close in the last thread somewhat parked there.

I thread my needle using the loop end and just push it through the eye and sometimes I’ll moisten it if it doesn’t work after a few tries. Works 99% of the time w/o threader 😊😊😊
@BernStitches
@BernStitches 2 года назад
I used to moisten my threads but it got so hard to push through, especially when working with Dimensions where you sometimes have 5 strands.

@BernStitches

This is actually a clip magnet that I also use as a needle minder aside from holding fabric. You can get it as a pack of 20 from Amazon ☺️

Hi! I was wondering if you have a video on how to do this same method with three strands? Start and stop from the front using three strands of floss. Thanks so much!
@BernStitches
@BernStitches 3 месяца назад
I never stitch with 3 strands, unfortunately. But I imagine it would be the same concept.

@BernStitches
@BernStitches Год назад
Are you stitching from a kit or a pattern somewhere? Kits like dimensions sometimes uses multiple strands especially for half stitches. For most full crosses, 11ct uses 3 strands, 14ct you can use 3 or 2 strands depending on how much coverage you want and 16-18ct is usually 2 strands

Also As you first pull your thread coming out, loop the loop through the needle so that the needle already has the loop as you first pull it out. Then continue going back into the same hole as you instructed

I think the concept should still be the same for pin stitches.
