My first comment is one, that I say to myself during DIY projects all the time- "just get it done, it's a HOUSE not a museum...it doesn't need to be perfect"
I used “self leveling” in an few spots that were quite low. Ground out the high spots. It sucks but take the time. It’s worth it. On a side note, the self leveling is not so much. Be prepared to float it like concrete and grind out transition to make a level surface.
Saw a great video from Home Renovision Diy, where he installed this dimmpled plastic on a giant roll. Seems way easier and more cost effective. Great job though. Looks like a pain for sure
That works and I that is one way I would do it if I can get a 4x8 sheet of tongue and groove down to the basement. Often times you cannot get a 4x8 sheet down some basements without cutting it which defeats the purpose of tongue and groove. That's where I would use this more expensive system.
I saw a video under dricore that said to install the flooring first and then the drywall, I guess because the non square of the walls will compound the issue. I guess.... your thoughts
It would suck cleaning up the mess from the drywall mudding and sanding on the OSB. They can scrap the concrete easier. Just measure first and make sure the joints are far enough from the edges. Cut on an angle if needed. And make a cross cut jig!
When you lay a segment floor, you start in the middle work out toward the sides and stager your pieces so seams are not continuous. Look at bricks on a house.
Why Dricore reduce the thickness for 3 mm? You increase price from $5.80 CAD to $8.38 CAD during pandemic period and reduce thickness!!! What I should do know if half of my basement covered with "old" product and new doesn't fit know!!! Just money in mind!!! Not quality!!!
