Thanks for the great video. The perforation mode was a great tip. Getting a Bolt in the next week or so delivered. Wondering about which brand of leatherette do you prefer? I have seen a lot about lone start adhesives and I just started a JDS account. Seems much better price on JDS, but wondering about quality between the two of them.

I just recently setup my thunder NOVA35 80W (Previously was using a strong diode). I had no issue with the diode once I found the proper settings. Unfortunately I am having trouble taming this beast and I cannot get it to be consistent. One day on certain settings it will work great and then it seems like the next I burn right through the second layer with the same settings & same color. Sometimes I will put a bunch of leatherette on the bed of the same color and engrave them all, and maybe half will turn out fine and the other half will burn through or not burn enough. I cannot for the life of me figure out what I am doing wrong here as I had no issue with this stuff before on the diode.

Not sure about your laser, on my Epilog I can adjust the DPI. On the engrave to metallic leatherette I use 600 DPI. All others I use 300 DPI.

Leatherette is typically made from PVC. Is yours, and if so, how do you mitigate the chlorine gas/hydrochloric acid issue? I would love to be able to do that.

Like your video, but it would be very helpful to explain what leatherette and metallic leatherette is at the beginning and actually show examples so we know what you're talking about before you go into your presentation. Just a thought. I learned 40 years ago in instructor school that you're making a mistake if you just assume that your audience knows what you're talking about.
