Very good! Been pushing snow since 1976 and agree on the rear blade. Used front loaders and snow plows and bobcats, but never found anything better for driveways than a cheap ole rear blade! You obviously know how to use one and that is key. Thanks,Tom
Your video was spot on, you made it look so simple by not plowing the same area 3 or 4 times. Found a 3pt 5' Meteor snowblower here in NJ for $200, used it one time. If you don't have a cab, forget about it, (never been so cold when that fine snow hits you or clogging up the chute with wet snow) mounted mine on a JD F935 using it as a 5' snow pusher for finishing up. People need to plan ahead, l even park all my vehicles side by side in front of my garage leaving one door for my tractor to come out plowing
Great video Ben as always!! I've got old rear blade never used one much till watched you're video last year I tried it worked great cut my bladen in half compared to box blade. That's prolly what I'll use from now on. Thanks for sharing Ben be safe have fun enjoy ya'lls family time and ya'lls homestead
@@khtractors I was surprised at how quickly you were able to clear the snow. It took me about four times longer with my bucket but I still enjoyed it and had fun.
Ben you luck we are getting our snow tonight and tomorrow 4 5 inches can't wait have had little snow so far my BX is 4 years old rear blade and front mounted blower works great took time to learn how to use that back blade getting better hope all well with you and yours God Bless All PaK
Great Job buddy.. angle blade works great.. I rarely ever run my Kubota bx wide open unless I need the hydraulic flow for something i always keep it low about 2k to 2500rpm
Nice video. I noticed you use just turf tires. I live in Nova Scotia and most winters with 6 -8 feet of snow they works fine for me roo. I have a front blower and rear back blade on a bx25. Gets the jobs done. As I live on an unpaved road I push the snow at the start of my driveway that the road plow leaves, (it is usually full of rocks) with the back blade turned around. When we a have just 2-3 inches of wet slushier snow that the blower don;'t like, I use the back blade angled in the proper position to clean the driveway.
When I got my bx23s, my dealer told me to run it wide open. I don't think I ever have, but I usually keep it a little higher when running the BH because you don't get the multi functional movements if you run it too low. Usually 2500 when doing loader work or using the blade to clear snow.
Kind of odd somebody from the south... Would give tips on how to remove snow with a bakblade... I'm from as far north as you can go without being in Canada.... I will show you tricks about moving snow you have never heard of.😁 But it was a nice video
I was moving snow yesterday with my rear blade. We had about 10 inch of snow and usually I use the blower but the blade was mounted and I went with it. I use Pats Quick hitch and found a weakness with them while backing into the snow banks to push them back . I think the weight and force of pushing heavy snow released the latch forced it open. Lucky I was looking back and saw the blade fold under and stopped the tractor......a few more inch's and and it would have been real ugly. So if anyone out there use's the Pats make sure you modify the latch so they will not open .
i accully made a rear blade into a front loader mounted blade by pining on a frame from a bale spear and pin it to the hitch mounts wich was pretty slick project
Try the PVC pipe on the cutting edge hack, I tried it for the first time last winter and it works so well I don't see myself using my blower much anymore.
I’ll tell what I do if the snow isn’t packed you can back blade it with the rear of the blade (opposite of the cutting edge side). It won’t cut into the gravels that way. I’ll have a video doing some of that on February 21. Thanks
Get a three inch PVC pipe, rip a cut down one side with a circular saw and slide it over the cutting edge of your blade, I have a video on my channel showing how well it works and I have a gravel driveway. Its in the tractor stuff playlist, I will be making a better video this coming winter and I did the same thing with my ATV plow yesterday so I can't wait to give that a try.
@@timberray9572 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Eo8N3VQDndA.html I did what you described - works well. I try to grade the gravel nice and smooth before it freezes so it isn't so hard on the PVC. Might try a steel tube if it doesn't hold up well and if I can find one cheap enough.
I’d recommend a light weight 5 foot blade. I had planned to get a 4 foot but my neighbor has one and he encouraged me to go with the 5. Thanks for watching!
I was set on getting a 48” blade and then talked to my neighbor who has one on his BX. He recommended going with the 60”, which was a good choice. Hope this helps, take care!
@@khtractors thank you friend! my dad in russia was listening and he was really interested (used to live here in NJ, USA where I am). So it's cool to find out - we thought kentucky/west virginia - close! :)
