I'm six weeks in and relate to this so much. Thank you!! One of the most stressful things I've embarked on - and I've done a lot. It's good to know that a lot of what I'm feeling is normal - esp about differentiaton - arghhhh!
Enjoying these videos, I finished my degree last year and miss learning so much! I did a TEFL internship in Spain when I graduated and found it challenging but rewarding. I think it would be fun to plan lessons, build relationships with students etc., in my actual subject and within students who speak my first language as I remember all the teachers I liked in school and how I could emulate them. What has your experience been of teacher's unions? I am a trade unionist and would be interested in getting involved - is there a lot of politics involved in schools surrounding this and things like Ofsted and writing reports? How much independence do you have to set your own agenda in the classroom? I see myself as a bit of a free-spirit in terms of the sort of emphasis I'd put on things, so don't want to get surrounded in 'red-tape', so to speak. I'd appreciate it if you could reply, but of course understand if not! Thanks again Miss Jones.
Thank you for the video. I’m starting a PGCE (secondary) in September. I’m a bit anxious because I’m juggling this with a 4-year-old. When did a typical day start and finish? And what expectations were there to stay beyond the day’s last class. (Just thinking about childcare.)
Sorry about the delayed response. I travelled (by car) around about 20-25 minutes for placement 1 and 50-60 minutes for placement 2. However, they are very accommodating depending on whether you drive or not.
