Tips for troubleshooting and fixing some issues with ELRS (or Express LRS)

Have you ever had a solid light in your ELRS receiver despite doing everything correctly?
Are you using an O3 and all the connections looks good, you have followed all the instructions correctly but nothing happens when you move the sticks?
If any of this problems sounds familiar watch this video, I may have the solution for your problems.

Hey Juan, my iflight evoque v2 also came with crossfire and I changed it to elrs. I have no issues regarding the sbus, I guess iFlight removes cables while assembling drones?

Interesting because they don’t. I have repaired at least 3 evoque O3 because if this issue, and I remember vividly because I think they are such a pain. To remove the sbus from the O3 you have to disassemble the whole drone. I really don’t like to do repair evoques. You can open and check the cables on the FC side without having to do much. I will really like to know if you have the sbus connected and haven’t had any issue. As I said, not all FC/RX combination shows this problem.

Now I know to move the RX tx to another uart I had this problem with one of my drones and ended up putting it to another quad

I bort a flywoo flylens 85 new and the ELRS receiver light doesn't double blink(bind mode)even if I do the battery in/out 3 times thing,the light stays a slow blinking and after 60s goes into WiFi mode. Any ideas on how to cure?

Sorry I don’t understand. You said first it doesn’t double blink, but then you say after 60 sec goes into WiFi mode. That’s contradictory. Double blink means WiFi mode. And if you are in WiFi mode you can just do whatever you want there: upgrade, change passphrase, etc.

@@NordFPV It's not going into bind flashing mode,it shouldn't need updating via WiFi as it's new v3 firmware from the factory.the only thing I'm concerned with is why it's not going into bind state regarding the light mode(.btw fast blink is WiFi mode double blink is bind mode)

@@cyclops-fpv I found the easiest way to modify my ELRS RX is using the wifi page. It doesn't matter if it's new or not. You go into the wifi page, and do the changes there for the passphrase. Passphrase is the best way to bind in my opinion. Depending on the FW version of your TX you may need to modify the version on your RX. Again, the wifi page is the easiest for me to do this. Make sure your two versions (RX and TX) matches, and that you have a passphrase set in both, and ll will be good. True, double blinking is binding. I tend to forget about it since I never use that method. I take any new ELRS RX wait until it goes into wifi, write my passphrase and all is done.

Well I’m new to it, and it’s been a nightmare. My boxer was crap, from day one. Then I go through this flash process, not run professionally. Apparently a usb flash is a hard thing to do lol. I should have done more Reddit research.

Sorry you are having a bad experience. I don't know why, but I really like the way it works. I was never a fan of the other processes like with FrSky or Crossfire.

@@NordFPV Thanks, after 4 hours, it was obviously radiomaster sent me a bricked boxer radio. The flash processes are very disappointing, but hopefully with the tx 16 and boxer I ordered today , one of them will work and I will return the other. I have a Mac, so this process was extra bumpy for me. They don’t say the buddy edge tx website doesn’t work for Mac’s…. But eventually it’s obvious. Elrs feels like raspberry pi reliability/usability at this point, but maybe my mind will change :) Thank you for the response!
