I was barely asked 3 questions. Having said that it appeared to me the visa had been approved before I even got to the interview so I'm not sure the questions mattered. They were basic questions about the work I do and my business generally.

my brother got 10yrs visa. they only asked him the reason of his trip. he said attending a business convention plus tour. they gave him 10 yrs visa within 5 minutes interview. he has another 3 yrs for the visa to expire. 2012 -2022
I'm lucky I got my US visa w/in 1 min. The consul just asked for my passport and then he said oh seems there's no problem we can give u a visa. Congratulation... We are going to hold your passport for visa stamping. You can collect it after 2 to 3 days. Then he gave me a piece of paper " Congratulations enjoy your vacation in UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" written on it.

I applied twice and was denied the first time. I practiced answering anticipated questions with my husband on both occasions. I finally got a multiple entry visa and excited to be in the US in 2weeks from now. What i did differently this time? I made it clear that I don't plan to move to the US permanently. (Like when the consul asked repeatedly "You are a nurse, why don't you just work in the US?", and i answered "No, my husband and I want to be teaching couple in Asia."
Bullshit! Now this is discrimination against single people! I have a high paying job, a nurse, but because I am single and do not travel. I get denied. Bullshit!

Thank you for your tips. I got my B1/B2 visa approved last August 6. I am a full time mom, my children are all grown up. First 3 questions all the same as you said. Where are you going? How long you intend to stay? Just make all your answers simple and honest, you are absolutely right! Was just asked like 6 questions. The last question was why didn't you stay longer in bermuda? My honest reply was " I need to go home, my children needed me here more than my husband does ( my husband is working in Bermuda, I visited him last 2016 for 2 mos). Ok your visa has been approved, it will be delivered to you in 1 week. After 3 days it was delivered to me. Thanks God!!!
Paramjit Singh i didnt apply for either. They just gave me the multiple entries. He didnt ask me anything money related. I didnt have anything in my bank account at that time anyway lol.
There's no amount of tips that can help applicants, no matter how calm or prepared they are... It's totally dependent on the interviewer who could be either NICE or a complete JERK......

Can you book a hotel for 3 days and show the hotel booking documents indicating 3 days yet you've just told them that you'll be staying in USA for 3 weeks?? Will they accept that????????
this video helped TREMENDOUSLY, just keep your answers quick & short, don't volunteer information, don't LIE , have RESPECT, smile , be comfortable, dont slouch , ALWAYS look them in the eyes when they are looking you in the eyes. most importantly dont be disorganized. :) .. i got approved on Tuesday , the 21st for 2 visas .. my C1/D and my tourist visa and its EXTREMELY rare for a consular officer to approve for both.. Last Monday I went to interview for the second time,but they denied again,they give me the same reason,they only want to take money from us,I had paid $448 for two time apply,they even never see all my documents that I have,they just denied to quickly. You need to prove you have strong ties like family and economic then you’ll get a visa. Proof that you’re not staying in America for long time. And you’re going back to Philippines.

I think it’s bcoz you don’t have an address to stay bcoz u said your bf booked a hotel for you he’s paying for your hotel. Consul wants you to show them you have your own money to pay for your trip not your bf paying for it. And when u say you have bf there it’s a disadvantage bcoz consul will think you’re not coming back bcoz you’ll get married to him that’s why that alone will trigger an alarm to the consul. Plan your strategy and try again. I was denied once bcoz I didn’t plan just curiosity that’s why denied then after 3 yrs I plan and got all documents needed and yeyyyyy I got my visa. Don’t lose hope! I know it’s a lot of money.

Ask your bf to visit you instead first then you visit him later. Having a u.s . Citizen bf is not guaranteed to get a visa. He doesn’t have to send a letter to U.s. embassy. If he’s really interested in you ask him to file for fiancée visa not you getting a tourist visa. You having a bf there is a red flag that you may not go back home to your country believe me.

My interview was smooth. From my interview experience, I think we should answer the questions firmly, concisely , clearly! Lucky me the only document that I have to show was the invitation letter! I think the reason is they do not want the baby to be born in the US. If so, the baby becomes a US citizen. A tourist visas sole intention is to come and go back to your native country and if they see anything that will prolong your stay in the US, unfortunately they’ll deny it. Praying you get it the next time you apply.
Truth Truth duh, this is an easy reject. There’s a chance that the baby would be born in the United States which would mean the baby would become a US citizen.

It depends on the consulate and how quickly you can get an appointment. Once you have an appointment, it should only take a week or so for them to return your passport with the B-1/B-2 visa stamp in it.

Hi everyone, I filled out my DS-160 and in the intended length of stay, I had written 5 days instead of 1 month. So I’m wondering if I should stick to what was submitted in the DS-160 form when i go to the interview or.. Can I say i want to stay for 1 month during the interview? Will that raise any issues? Or will I have to fill out a new DS-160 form? Also, can i edit the existing DS-160 form? Or will I have to submit a new one? Thank you!
