Tips on How to do a Cinematic Zoom Transition on Shotcut the Easy Way - Tutorial

One of the first thing I did when I discovered Shotcut is try to make cinematic travel videos. I love the awesome transitions and crossfades the other editors can do, and I looked for ways to replicate it on Shotcut. One of the most common cinematic transitions was the cinematic zoom transition effect. After some careful trial and error, I have finally settled on my favorite zoom transition process. There are other things you can do to make it even fancier zoom transition in Shotcut but this tutorial gets the job done.

Nice one Ben, I've watched a couple of your videos and you explain things really well. Loved the parallax one too, I've done similar in Blender, but it's so much faster in Shotcut. Great stuff and thanks!

If you've updated to the latest version, which 20.09.13, they combined the "Size & Position" and "Rotate & Scale" filters into what is now called "Size, Position & Rotate"

Great vid - but I think you need to show the finished result much more explicitly: "here's the effect we're doing to day" " - now everybody knows if this is something they'd like to do ... and - > "And so it all ends up looking like this" .

I don't like tutorial videos where the introductions and the motivations are too long and the actual trick we were looking for is very short. When we search for tutorial videos on RU-vid we already know what we want and we would appreciate it if you get down to it at once instead of making the tutorial longer than it should.
