Tire Pressure Monitoring System Install & Review TST 507

We had this installed on our Class C RV prior to our trip to Colorado. We’re first time RV-ers and wanted every advantage on a long trip. Well, we got a flat tire on the left inside dual and we were so very lucky that we were still in a city (but still on the inter-state). The TPMS system began to beep. Checking the monitor and observing the air leaving the tire quickly I was able to find an exit within seconds and make our way to the parking lot of a Super 8 motel. Roadside assistance showed about 1 1/2 hrs later. He took the tires off and discovered that the tire was fine. It was the TPMS transmitter attached to the valve stem that caused the flat tire!!! It became loose but still had enough contact with the valve stem that the air escaped around the base of the transmitter flattening the tire. We were extremely fortunate that we were still in town so that we could gain access to an exit immediately so that we could be away from traffic on the interstate and enable road assistance to safely work on our RV. He strongly suggested that we take off the other monitor from the right inside dual and we concurred with his advice. The RV is still under warranty and is going back to the dealership tomorrow and hopefully they will explain to my satisfaction why this device caused a flat tire. On the other hand the system did work to the extent that it sounded the alarm for the flattening tire which is very good. Obviously, the fact that it caused the flat tire is a serious issue that I hope will be resolved and never happen again...to anyone.

Loving the new logo! Seems like a great little unit. Even in my car I check the tire pressures all the time, but I'm sure it's even more important on the trailer! I like that they have all the possible tire configurations for you to choose from. That's handy. What is the point of the tool compared to just hand tightening? It didn't seem like it did a whole lot from this perspective.

Great video. I'm hoping to get one for next season. What are the dimensions of the entire monitor minus the antenna? I'm making a custom center console for my class A and want to recess it like the radio, rear view monitor and AC controls. The antenna will be able to sit behind e oak panel so I don't need a cutout for that. Just want to. Are a clean install! Thanks

Just watch the TPS video very informative. Looks like a good system. With this and other products and camp ground reviews what is usually important to a lot of us is the cost. Please include this important info so we can make a comparison.Love your videos keep them coming. Autotech182

It is funny. I was just discussing these with my friend this morning. I have always had difficulty using a tire pressure gauge and have not been able to accurately check the pressure on my camper. I am trying to decide if it is worth the cost for just the two extra tires on the camper. I know it would be a huge safety upgrade and I like the idea. Do you use the system on your truck when you are not towing?

One question .... How do you recover the air lost in the installation of the sensor? ... on the other hand I thank you very much for the good video, you are rightly an explosion of a tire ... it can be fatal for our lives and that of others and apart from the loss of your RV

on your truck do you have steel valve fillers , did they come with truck or did you have to replace

Funny how people who get free shit can review a product by installing it and not actually using it for a period of time. Exact same thing on every channel TST gave one of these to.
