Hello everyone! As I said, I am very bad with numbers and math. I've been notified of an error I made in my calculations. If you include the hook in the calculations you will get a slightly different result than if you make the calculations without the hook, the heavier the hook the larger the error becomes in the calculations. I don't understand this, but it seems to be right, luckily the hooks i use is not so heavy so the difference would not be so drastic for me. So if you want the calculations to be more accurate, just don't include the hook in the calculations, not in the original weight and not when you weigh it after a while to check how much it has lost. Now you know! /Mathias

Elba V What do you mean? If you have been a mother for decades then you should have the ability to empathize with how she feels. Not being able to sleep and have to adapt to now have a child that is totally dependent on her takes time to adjust to. She has all right to “complain” about it, that doesn’t make her silly or an ungrateful mother. Motherhood is hard that just the way it is, so let her talk about it, jeez

Never ever hold back when it comes to telling the World about nature. The World needs to get back to it's roots and the populous needs to relearn the natural ways. Many people today are to sheltered. I was raised on my Grandparents farm in the summertime and got a chance to learn the ways of nature very early. Be safe and well. Love to all of you. May the One God keep and protect you all.

Tova, you are like a mother kangaroo carrying the baby. I think he can hear your heart beating and that must be very comforting not to mention warm and safe. Sad about the sheep and cat, yes that is the life on the farm, it's real and not always cinnamon buns and rainbows.

One the the most important things I have learned since becoming a parent almost 9 years ago is that you can do things you never thought possible. You can live with little sleep, you can carry your baby around all day (and all night, at times), you can garden and farm with a baby, you can do all these things. It is like you gain a new level of strength each day. Love allows us to do the impossible. Another important thing I have learned is that the important things do get done. Some days the important thing is that your child was held and loved and comforted and that doesn't end even when they are no longer babies. It all works out when love is the inspiration for all you do. Thank you for your videos and all the work involved in making them come to life. Be well!

Every stage with a child is great. Try to take a nap when he takes a nap. The first night they sleep all night is a milestone. The first time they use the potty will be another milestone . Your English has greatly improved and your vocabulary is growing with each episode . He is a cute little fellow.

Yes....always nap Momma when baby naps. Drink lots of water, rest, eat well, have Mathias give you a foot massage.....good milk for Ivar. I breastfed my oldest son for 14 months. The second one 16 months. Hey, it's free food. So good for you and your sweet Ivar.

It took us four years before we slept again. Two years of between 3 and 5 times nightly wakeups and then our second child was born. I distinctly remember "celebrating" the 1000th 'broken night' as we call it, at work. Four years, every.single.night. interrupted. Today our kids are 5 and 7 years old and are very sound sleepers. Phew! There may be light at the end of the tunnel, but the tunnel can be very .. very long.

Ivar sounds like he is having a growth spurt to bring in more milk supply, Tova! That is a perfect time for momma to take 2 days to rest more, eat more, make more milk! Then you will have a happy baby until the next growth spurt -- around 12 weeks, perhaps? Your family is doing so well!

I know what you are saying. My son is 35 and when he calls and says, "Mom, I don't feel good, I think I'm sick". It makes me want to tuck him in bed, and make chicken soup for him. I used to put cool wash cloths on his head when he was feverish and read to him. Some times I sat in a chair next to his bed when he was very sick or slept on the floor next to his bed listening to him wheeze when his asthma was bad. The days and nights rolled together. My Momma said to me....when Baby is napping, Momma should rest too. House cleaning can wait.

Tenderness and tenaciousness, even amongst the tiredness, and all in the midst of whatever Mother Nature sends your way. This is how it is, some days. We have an expression that says, "Some days, you get the bear, and some days, the bear gets you." I well remember my first Winter in North America, as a new immigrant, newlywed, a new mother, and my husband fell and snapped his ankle two days before Christmas. Sometimes, our steepest learning curves reveal new strengths to us. As a sheep farmer's daughter, I know the heartache of losing a breeding ewe in such a way. Nature can be cruel. And, vet care is often expensive, too. It shouldn't be a consideration, but it is. So lovely to see Ivar thriving so much, from the very beginning.

Thank you both for the calm that you bring to my life. I love being with you both, listening to your stories of daily life. Ivar is so lovely. I recall when I used to carry Sean and Meghan in the pouch on my chest. This time is important, for all three of you so please try not to worry about what you aren't doing and 'go with the flow'. Here in Vermont we are still on lockdown and I, at 77, a diabetic with lung issues and having had a stroke last August must be extra careful so for almost 2 months I have not been outside because I also have a broken knee and walking is no fun. I am happy, remarkably. Basically I am a home body !! My friend John and I were laughing the other day, saying how little we are really affected as our lives do not change much while others have been badly disrupted. It was very nice to see you had a new video out . Thank you , again.

I love all of your videos. Such sweet baby lambs. I got attached to my chickens even though I had dozens of them and then (Coyote? Fox? Bobcat?) 'something' started dragging them off I promised myself I wouldn't keep getting attached to them but it is hard. We form a bond with them and they form a bond with us too. I used to raise Nubian goats and they sometimes had problems that seemed to never end. Sheep seem to be a little more hardy than goats. Not sleeping when the baby sleeps is hard at first because you want to get things done, then you realize you're only running on four hours sleep and need that precious few more minutes/hours when he is sleeping so you can sleep too.. You guys are great parents.

As tired as you are I think today's parting shots were the most beautiful I have ever seen of you Mathias, Tova, and Ivar. A New Family is a pretty thing to behold! God's blessing upon you!

HOW LOVELY! SUCH a beautiful little family. Yes, there are sacrifices to be made when the family gets larger...but OH the REWARDS! You are young and it takes the energy of the young to raise a family. BUT...you are also homesteaders, with soOOoo many projects on the go. Do NOT let those 'projects' overwhelm you. Taking care of food, cleaning, animals take precedence over building. Things will come together, people/family will assist you...especially now...as they will all want to hold and see your HANDSOME/healthy Ivar. One day at a time dear ones. A secret to overcoming fatigue = count your ABUNDANT BLESSINGS! I know you do. My prayers for your health and God's blessing upon you n' yours. Thank-you most kindly for sharing your wonderful life with us.

I like how you take life in all of its complications, as just part of living. No point getting too upset about things that you can't change. You just do the best you can, and have confidence that tomorrow will bring a new opportunities for success.

We are way behind in your vlogs but we just wanted to congratulate you. The birth of Ivar was so touching and loving. We just started to follow you before Christmas. We love what you do, all the hard work and now with your beautiful baby Ivar, not easy. We are at number 69. . You have a beautiful homestead. You should be proud of all you have done. We are in our late 70ties and would have loved to do what you do. Sweden was a place we wanted to visit but our age and Covid has put a halt to travels. By watching you we travel. My husband who is a carpenter and craftsman would have loved to give you a hand. We are here in Quebec, Canada enjoying your vlogs. All the best for 2022. Once again, congratulations ! (Regards Ann and Emile)
