I would like to address my comment about the Titans being “overpowered.” There are clearly ways for experienced pilots to take down titans, and it isn’t that difficult with enough practice, but from the perspective of a business, this game has such an insane skill curve that could’ve potentially turned off a lot of players from continuing playing the game. This video wasn’t me explaining why I think Titanfall is BAD (which I don’t, I genuinely think it’s an underrated gem) I was just trying to explain why I think it didn’t succeed as some would have hoped. People who have deduced that I just need to “get gud” have missed my main point of the video, and that’s partially my fault, but in the end of the day it was just my opinion. Thank you for watching, and for those of you who respectfully disagreed in the comments without resorting to calling me “bad” or “stupid,” y’all are dope ❤️
Yes I agree but just equip the mag launcher. And I also understand that it's hard to do it as a first time player. There isn't always new players. And that makes a big power inbalance . That's my 2 cents.
Well yes but acctually no when i started and mind you i was playing BATTLEFIELD 1 before titanfall as my main game and didnt find it hard at all to kill titans its like saying its impossible to kill a landship its not impossible its acctually quite easy
''experienced'' you can literally just shoot a few times with any anti-titan weapon, make sure to switch cover and if you do this over and over again the titan is down. Everyone can do that.
Yeh because it's (when u look at it) unfair but if u have a good strat with team or good at the game u can take it down and feels like a proper battle and like your in a war. And when you're things like that happen it's like an artillery or morter strike it's not easy to survive but you can take them out
I'm not sure this guy actually played titanfall in the first half. Bots are worth the same amount in attrition? No, no they aren't. Players are 10 points. Bots are 1 point. Can't fight against a titan. You can, you just gotta change your playstyle. Keep your distance and move quick. You can blind a titan so many different ways. There are so many pilot abilities made specifically for titans.
I have an entire “Titan Bomb” loadout, the charge hack Charge Rifle, the SideWinder (an anti titan weapon in the previous game) the RE-45 (for anti-pilot fire), the Cloak pilot ability, with Satchel Charges, stealth, fast regen, and Monarch (because the campaign hit me in the feels).
Short answer: bad release time. Long answer: it was realesed between bf1 and infinete warfare, therefore it kinda flopped. Oh if your asking about titanfall 1? It had its own release time, therefore making it more popular because it wasn't released between 2 very popular game series.
To be fair he makes a good point, I kinda get sad every time I get my Titian cause I just want to keep jumping around and doing cool kills. (Yes I know about pilots vs pilots)
Day one of using the softball: I can’t hit anything this gun is trash but a challenge to use Day four of using the softball: I can actually hit shots now and am able to get multiple kills per game Probably day 100 of using softball; able to one shot pilots whenever they enter FOV Update: about day 13 of using softball, found out that you can reliably kill targets behind cover
I thought he was going to put the campaign in this video? also the badguy for this game is the same dud who stabbed the newspaper in the apex legends trailer
Forward base Kodai, angel city and relic are all places where pilots are absolute nightmares for titans. This whole review felt so poorly made like he didn't get invested in the game and played it like it was infinite warfare.
Rodeo, grapple, Rodeo, Flame Star on jump and anti titan weapon like archer is kinda killing a titan as a pilot, and dont forget the nice titanfall kills ;)
Fighting Titian’s as a pilot isn’t that difficult. In fact, I probably kill more Titian’s as a pilot than I do in my Titian. Charge rifle with charge hack deals more damage than most Titian primaries. Your advanced mobility also makes it near impossible for other Titian’s to fight back. It’s free kills all day.
When I do this I typically find success (especially with an Amped SMR), the Titans usually tend to kill me through predicting my movement. I think the Pilot v. Titan engagements are very compelling because both have advantages and disadvantages in said engagements, so whoever outsmarts the other wins. I think it’s very fun.
Cloak in the first game was literally made so that you couldn't be seen by Titans, and even when I use stim I can easily take a chunk of Titan health with satchel charges.
On what do you play, I play on console and have been playing for a good 2 weeks. On ps4 you have to press square to rodeo, however it doesn’t matter how hard I press it it just won’t rodeo. Any tips. Edit: please go easy on me because I am a new player, but to my knowledge the Titanfall community can be pretty nice sometimes.
@@benjaminelzakker1128 you can change it in the settings to be automatic You wanna jump on a titan from above for the best chance You can try jump on from ground level but that depends on the hitbox and server
Playing titanfall 2 for so long makes me just appreciate the game and realize it would be hard to improve this game for titanfall 3 with how perfect it already is
I agree with everything you said except the point about the Titans. Whilst, yes, when the enemy has all their titans it can feel very overwhelming, but it still doesn't feel like you're completely powerless when going up against them. The Anti-Titan weapons can whittle them down fairly well, and some of the ordnance like the firestar or the arc grenade can be used to stun or blind titans to give you a small window of opportunity for you to get close and steal their battery. Granted, you're still at a disadvantage, but goddamn it feels so amazing when you manage to take down a titan yourself. Like an actual David vs. Goliath moment. Which is why I pretty much never play anything else other than attrition (totally not because it's the most popular gamemode and I'm not arsed to wait forever to find a game) BTW, any Scorch mains in the chat?
Yeah pilots can definitely kill a full team of titans. I play with 5 people everyday and when the other team has all their titans we just coordinate and the titans are dead extremely fast. Especially when there is a single titan on your team like a ronin or monarch and people just keep feeding them batteries the other team becomes an unstoppable force of power.
macro: the titans are just fun, but their impossible to kill as a pilot Also macro: standing still in the open firing the charge rifle like it were a sniper in front of 2 enemy titans
Yeah that’s literally a main mechanic of the game, how Titans can kill a pilot in one shot but pilots are extremely mobile and capable of taking out a titan by their own if done right. I think he just doesn’t really understand how the game is supposed to work
“A call of duty arena shooter” my dude you don’t seem to understand. The entire point is that pilots can cause massive damage to a lone titan, even one pilot can cause massive damage to a titan. Titanfall isn’t meant to be a “call of duty arena shooter” it’s meant to be titanfall.
Adding to this, the enemy team had two Titans (We had none) on attrition, we thought it was game over. Than this utter badass shows up takes out a Titan and a mounted pilot, squad wipes the rest of the pilots than battery steals the final Titan and summons his, killing said Titan. This was literally one of the most badass moments I've ever seen, It was amazing.
Kill Zone people who can play titanfall 2 effectively will always have some of the craziest, and coolest kill cams (along with regular fights and such) due to the whole movement system of the game, and you know, their actual skill.
RNGTeaTowel the only thing I don’t like about the game is the TTK (time to kill) it makes it to where the person who shoots first is probably going to win. (Of course that may just be me being a heckling noob degenerate.)
Reeeee a single pilot can't defeat a massive weaponized mech! Seriously, if they made it where titans spawned super fast or where a pilot could kit the mech without any difficulty, there would be way more complaints. The titans are well balanced. As a pilot you are not supposed to try and fight them unless you get a good angle and are skilled on the approach. The titans are supposed to be feared.
This is just not true. I don't understand what it is with you titanfall 2 fans and failing to see that most people just dont like the concept of having titans (and i win button) periodically activate to kill you with their bullshit.
@@jermu8706 titans are meant to be overpowered behemoths. That's the point. You have to work towards an titan and even then it's easy for multiple pilots to take you down. Titanfall 2 is faster than cod. Has better movement and is an overall more fun experience
@@epico5805 Its easy for a SINGLE pilot to take a titan down. Use an Archer or the Charge Rifle, be careful and use your movements adnd they really can't do much.
Titanfall two is probably the best FPS shooter i've ever played with an amazing campaign that was the reason for my first platinum trophy on playstation. It's Insanely fun and versatile but I cant say I agree with you on the titan part of the game. As a pilot, you always have a secondary and an anti-titan weapon in your class, this weapons are not even near underpowered and some of them can bring titans down in a minute or less, but that depends on the skill of the person using that weapon, if they're smart enough they'll get to a high place with no angle for the titans to shoot at them, if the titans are smarter they'll reposition or even get out of the titan if they're to annoying just to kill them. In this game you have options and a lot of ways to approach situations not only as a pilot but as a titan and even though not all players are born with this ability you certainly can learn to play, just like any other game. On a side note, if you run around just killing grunts the only thing you're going to accomplish is losing your team the game and yourself xp, as it's just a really slow and annoying way of getting points and its ultimately not worth it. I think that the main problem with the player base is due to the little to no advertising this game had. Loved your review and I hope to see more of your videos soon
Mr Absolute yes exactly I have tons of time that I’ve solo killed Titans as a pilot just by grappling around them I laughed my ass off because they missed so many shots on me
Macro: "you can't kill a titan as a pilot" me: laughs in cloak, thunderbolt, quick deploying titan, EPG,enhanced weapons and slower titan detection speed.
“You can’t kill a titan with a pilot” I can easily single- handedly kill an Atlas or maybe even an Ogre class titan with a firestar, thunderbolt and EPG.
are you talking about the titan classes like legion and scorch are ogre tone and ion are atlas and northstar and ronin being strider or just saying it as if your playing titanfall 1
The titans are what made titanfall unique though, I think most people who didn’t play the first game, and wasn’t familiar, bought the game for the appeal OF the titans, and I would objectively say that there are more people who enjoy titanfall, than apex. People who have played the first, or even just played titanfall 2 in the first place can look back and truly say it’s a masterpiece, even though the don’t play anymore. But the big spike at apex’s start, wasn’t looked back on as fondly by a big major of those players
@@KG72740 its a pretty tough game to get the hang of in a BR sense because you're movement is just as, if not more important, then your aim. Also playing Apex has the same kind of freeing feeling that Titanfall has when compared to their respective genres. CoD multiplayer and Warzone are fun but both feel like you have bricks for shoes compared to Titanfall/Apex. Me personally, I also really like the Characters of Apex. The game feels so personal because people tend to project onto the characters making the battles/trolling so much more enjoyable. Nothing like creeping up to a team in a building then popping the quip "Hey, NEVER turn your back to Gibraltar muhahahaha" then going in and slaying.
@@lostsurferjames5 I also really like the characters in Apex especially caustic and revenant and I also hate some like loba. But the movement isnt as good as in Titanfall without the wallruns and jetpack
I felt like I was open to listening to criticism about (pretty much) my favorite game, but after listening I just feel like a hypocrite. And I'm guilty of that. So I apologize if my response sounds... hater-ish. 1) Is the game "balanced around Titans", or is the game "impossible to balance"? Titanfall is one of the greatest examples of balance, in my personal opinion. Everything has a counter. When everything has power, nothing is overpowered. I'd be bold to say it has levels of synergy similar to classic Halo and arena shooters, if I had to get really confident in it. It's that unique of a feeling, to feel disadvantaged in every way and simultaneously, advantaged. Especially with the diversity in weapon and Titan offerings. Some, not certain if I'm included though, would call that _perfect_ balance. 2) What you mean by "identity crisis", I don't know if I'm crazy, sounds like a good thing. A really good thing. Why does a game have to cater to "pros", _or_ "casuals"? Why can't it cater to both? A skilled player can advance in a match by taking out other players just as easily as an unskilled player can advance in the match by taking out a few AI and helping their team, you said that, right? I don't know if you meant to imply that as "negative", but you state this as a reason in a list of how Titanfall _failed..._ what? That's amazing, a miracle of game design! Isn't it? How could that be a bad thing? 3) I understand your point with APEX Legends. Or at least I would, had it not have been your point that it plays like "Titanfall without the Titans". I have no doubt in my mind that APEX is _the best_ battle royale thanks to it's triple-A quality gameplay mechanics, but it's still just that: a free battle royale. That's where the success came from, being a well-made, free, trendy game. It plays virtually nothing like Titanfall, outside of the weaponry, and some borrowed mechanics. All that movement system you praised Titanfall for in it's identity, isn't even present. It's not just "Titanfall without the Titans", it's Titanfall without the Titanfall. I could be rude, I could ask if you even know how to wall run, or fight an enemy Titan as a pilot, to address your points- but I don't want to, because it just leads me to believe that you're not experienced enough with the game to have your opinions understood by the majority of the community. But that doesn't mean they're invalid. I enjoyed hearing your perspective, as a new age player coming over from APEX, and I think you might share that opinion with several others in your position. But it doesn't feel right that you're validating them. You could be inadvertently barring people from learning the game properly; helping them think the game is majorly flawed, instead of acknowledging their own mistakes. I just... can't help but think that this video is misleading. In every way. Not only to people not familiar with Titanfall, but especially in the statement that Respawn was owned by EA in the way that they are now, when they made the game. Before they were killed, and subsequently bought for 151 million dollars by the company that killed them, to proceed to follow trends and create a game to make their money back. That really hurt to hear.
Oh man. I suck real big peen on TF2 and I still found it fun. I can't do the wall-run, b-hops, but I do like Titan vs Titan. This game caters to so many people. If you don't like Titans, there is a pilot vs pilot. And while I do like Titans I feel they were weak in a more crowded environment. Typically getting locked on and with how raw and amazing the movement system, you could risk taking down a Titan or die from doing that risk. Still, I like hearing the input of someone experienced.
My absolute favorite part of titan fall 2 was taking on titans. Being that one motherFu*** nobody can swatt is incredibly fun. The little guy vs the world feeling is unmatched. The more attention you pull the better your team does.
This sounds like the complaints of someone who has just started playing. No offense, but titans are slow and u r fast so you can hit them and they will never hit you.
Ttianfall 2 is incredible but i'm not sure on your point of the Titans being the issue. When you're starting out, titans are terrifying and seeing one barrel down on you means instant death. When you get more experienced fighting a titan as a pilot requires a new skill set that needs to be learned and adapted to your particular pilot setup. Rodeoing, items, wall run escapes, and even you anti-titan weapons help make pilots sometimes more dangerous to titans than other titans themselves. Thanks for shining a spotlight, I wish more people got into the game (5 pounds for the ultimate edition on origin right now, check it out). And hopefully they can bring Titanfall 3 out with balance changes to get some of our Apex brothers and sisters involved.
@@izawa9211 how are titans unbalanced??? of course they're better than people, it's a giant mech. do you think that irl war is unbalanced because an m1 abrams is stronger than a foot soldier?
nah the actual problem was skill gap. How were the new players gonna keep up with the long time TF players. Plus, it does not help tat literally everyone clams they are better than they actually are
Tyler Scira A lot of fun. Viper is the most fun boss I’ve ever fought. I wonder how many controllers Macro broke. And the worst part is when you think he’s dead he tackles BT and takes him off the thing if you don’t shoot him fast enough. All the other TF2 bosses are ok like Ash was ok and so were the others. But then Viper just comes in “I’m about to ruin this mans 3 controllers”
@@gamepusher1229 I mean it would be pretty batshit crazy for sure but still a battle royal with super advanced movement would be awesome. Maybe in apex there could be a jumpkit that is extremely rare and only comes in care packages. That would be awesome. Apex with titanfalls movement
As an experienced player, killing titans was honestly easier as a pilot than a titan, like %70 of the time i don't even need a titan and i just put it on auto pilot. Titans are not op and don't ruin the game. They're a core mechanic and synergize perfectly with pilot gameplay. Anti-titan weapons are super effective against titans and rodeo attacks cause massive damage and refills your titan meter by like %60 AND if you manage to get away with it you can give your titan overshield and health AND %20 to your titan core. If that aint enough reward for spamming a titan with anti-titan weapons or riding on it like a parasite i don't know what is. But all that aside, great video. I love the positivity and love you have for this game. 👍
APEX Legends is another level of gaming, best game ever. And it is all because of Titanfall. Thank YOU Titanfall for inspiring the best battle royale game ever... APEX LEGENDS!
fikri nur ikhwan salam what kind of skills would a pilot have? I’ve never played titanfall, but I know Wraith uses to be a pilot, and she’s my main she’s so good
This only happens to me when Im using legion because is fat and slow so easily a pilot can use Grapple, stim, turn invisible or just do the rodeo and fuck you xD
summary: nothing went wrong because the game is still great, titans get destroyed by sparrows, you easily get enough credits to get the heavy weapon. 10/10 still great game
@@unclerukus890 with scorch shoot a grenade to a wall and then put the back on the fire, or deploy gas and burn it, and again face the oposite direction
@@unclerukus890 northstar can use her cluster missiles on a wall and have the pilot facing it, and Ion can use her tripwire to kill the pilot after jumping with the battery at the end of the rodeo.
I thought I was the only person who does that, I know I could call my Titan and let it go on auto but it feels better to shove grenades in random titans and eventually die to a pilot with a Kraber.
"you are no match for a titan" eh I disagree, if you're a veteran player who has mastered the movement you can easily zip around some tone that has no idea how to leave from one spot
Yeah I disagree with that idea too. If you figure out how to counter each Titan, they're really not all that hard to fight against. You just gotta practice with each one to learn they're weaknesses, like tone is a very forward facing Titan, getting behind it is a great way to rack up some damage. Scorch and Legion are best bullied from afar and above etc. It's just a game with a massive skill ceiling. That being said it's literally the only shooter I play any more. Has been since it came out. All other shooters just feel slow and clunky to me after coming from Titanfall 2.
You're so wrong on part 2 and part 3. The learning curve on this game is small, you can be trash and still get kills and have a good time. When I first saw the AI teammates and enemy's in TF2 I was amazed. It's unique, it's what makes it Titanfall. And the only reason why Apex legends was successful, was because it's a free to play, loot boxes, battle Royale hype, and of course great gameplay. Sorry man but this video is all wrong. Edit: another thing, why the hell would Titanfall remove Titans to get more fps players? That's like taking the cheese out of a cheese burger.. you just don't do that, Titanfall is Titanfall, it's what makes it the most unique shooter out their.
Agreed. I only got TF2 last year on a sale and it only took me an hour to learn the game and start doing really well. I was honestly surprised to see like, how easy it is to get kills in the game. Even when I got into lobbies with obviously very skilled players I still managed to get a decent amount of kills. Titans on the other hand took me a bit more time to learn, but my God I fucking love Scorch. Sadly I haven't touched the game since last year and now this video makes me want to grind the game all over again. I still have a *lot* of shit to unlock
@@DIYStangsandFreedom I bought it a week after release but sold it for a reason i don't know of. I bought it again for £2.37 and have played it non stop for about a month, I've gone from gen 3 to gen 11. The game is honestly amazing
I remember a time in the first Titanfall when I nuclear ejected at the same time as another titan with a enemy on my back,I pulled out my wingman in the air and popped em both
I agree I liked this video until that point, killing titans as a pilot is easy if not easier than Titan v Titan, he clearly hasn’t heard of the steal the battery homing launcher method, disappointing
Macro, I love you man, so know I don’t mean any offense when I say, you played this game for like a week and I don’t think you can properly judge it yet
dang see even this tho has some misconceptions (minor though this is great video) but people really thought Titans were supposed to be the dumbest most OP weapon/vehicle ever so they didnt bother. As a pilot not only is killing Titans possible its one of the most satisfying things you can do as pilot. I mean seriously wall running sliding shooting a missle throwing a thermite ninja star in the engine running jumping ripping the battery out of the titan making them self destruct and then sniping the pilot mid air off his ejection is something you can only do in that game and its GLORIOUS.
I'd argue it's easier to do on-foot with the right gear. You can move faster, take cover more easily and move into sections of the map where titans can't even get you, giving you a massive advantage when trying to chip HP away from a good flank (or a high enough vantage point). Not to mention you can also throw a Firestar and blind the pilot while doing DPS basically for free. Being in a titan makes you more easily visible and takes away a lot of escape routes but you have the firepower to take them on directly. It's great. It's a mastahpees.
You just demonstrated why I didn't buy the game. In the beta it was far to easy for pilots to kill Titans. In TF1 you had to keep your distance from Titans or get destroyed.
"Can't kill a titan as a pilot" Dude. I literally have 20 confirmed p2016 titankills. How? Shoot the weak spot when they're 1 hp ez Or you could just rodeo and use anti-titans etc. Killing titans as a pilot is easy as hell
@@Fikrinurikhwansalam-sw2zl don't sleep on the p2016 man. That thing fucks people up If anything is a pea shooter look at the wingman Especially suppressed Got a whole 2 titan kills with it
MAAAD FACTS. Like softball and basically every other grenadier weapons are so effective against titans, that even it's better than some anti titan weapons. Still tho thunderbolt and archer my favorite
I personally think that the modes like attrition and bounty hunt are quite well balanced. In my opinion the main issue that causes imbalance in the game is simply the lack of people. Most people that have stuck around are already experienced and are snowballing any new and inexperienced players. If the player numbers were ten times as much as they are now there would be more players of different skill levels and matchmaking would have an easier time matching players appropriately. While titans may be a little bit intimidating to fight as a pilot the key is to use your AT weapon's strengths against the titans.
Fun fact: Apex Legends was originally going to be Titanfall 3, but some developers played around with the idea of a battle royale, and made apex legends.

“Titans killed titanfall” What do you mean? They are so easy to kill as a pilot. You move way too fast for them to catch up to you and cloak makes you completely invisible to them. Just use grenadier and anti titan weapons with the amped mod and they dead. You clearly haven’t played the game enough to realize that.
Macro doesn't understand us titanfall gamers, to be a true pro You should prove to new players that any weapon could be deadly even the crappy ones I once killed a titan using a wingman in the weakspots
Cloak is supposed to make a pilot completely invisible to titans* There is still a faint outline that can be traced once you know what how to spot the outline with various backgrounds. Sound makes this even more consistent. Every move a pilot makes, is audible.
