I used many balls for the price velocity is very good. I use it replacing prov1x i can use shorter irons and stops plenty good.

12 handicap. I've used both the Tour soft and the velocity. I love the velocity. I've had good results around the greens. Ball comes off irons great and trajectory is crazy high.

Still amazed that Titleist can’t/won’t produce a urethane cover ball to compete with the Chromesoft/Projecta offerings from Callaway/TM. They ask you to pay the same price point for a ball that doesn’t feel as soft and doesn’t have the spin control. I don’t get get it. Why would I pay the better part of £50 per dozen for the Pro V/x when I can pay £35 for a rival ball that does the same job?

Look up the Titleist AVX that is on limited release in the USA....

Peter Carter-Brown avx is full release now. But still soft cover balls are not compareble to provs even velocity is better than those u mentioned but i have. 105+ swing speed too

lol. The Titleist Tour Soft plays better than the Chromesoft. At least it did for me.

Not sure between the two balls. Probably the Tour Soft. Higher spin in short game. And softer feel. Low enough spin of the longer shots.

I bought a box of the Tour soft and played a 18 hole round. The results were terrific. I love them.

Can someone explain, with the Foresight launch monitors, the difference between "carry" and "range"? Thx.
@GolfMonthly
@GolfMonthly 6 лет назад
When we hit on the sim, the 'range' number tells you how far the ball is rolling out to. However, we don't keep that number - ultimately that depends on the ground conditions
@yadthink
@yadthink 6 лет назад
Unless the sim has a setting for super soft ground conditions, I don't understand how your driver numbers showed no roll out. In fact, comparing carry vs range, 2 drives "backed up."

This is the first golf monthly video I have ever watched and what a name for a golf journalist!!!! I’m literally 40 seconds in and if he does make GIRs I’ll be disappointed 😂

I purchased a new tour soft ball and played with it today. It was greater than I expected. I used to play with TaylorMade soft response, compare between two, I absolutely love Titleist tour soft because it feels softer and performing. I am mid handicap golfer (15) , dont need to play with expensive balls like prov1 or prov1x , pretty much happy with tour soft ball. If you are mid handicap golfer just try this one. You will love it.

I’m trying to decide between project a and this ball, I’m a beginner for sure I want low spin off the driver and good stopping around the greens, I feel the toursoft is more forgiving to drive and project a stops better around the green, any tips to help a beginner would be appreciated

Excellent review 👍 That low driver spin with the velocity for slow swing speeds could really cause the ball to fall out of the sky. I bet the additional spin of the Tour Soft would benefit slower swing speeds. Would have been nice to include the ProV as a benchmark. Enjoyed that 👍
@GolfMonthly
@GolfMonthly 6 лет назад
Thanks David. Good point about the low spin on the driver. Some people might want to adjust the set up of their driver to get the launch up and accommodate the low spin.
@dciccoritti
@dciccoritti 6 лет назад
Does that actually work? Again for those between 75 and 90 mph. I'd be interested to see someone doing a video on this. Taking a low spin ball off the driver and lofting up vs playing a ball with more spin? I wonder which set up of club and ball would be more efficient in terms of distance. Again, really enjoyed this style of review 👍

What launch monitor do people believe because if you put them numbers in a FlightScope Optimizer they come out to carry of 271

Hi there Currently use Titleist NXT Tour S which have obviously stopped being produced. Rather than just automatically going for the Tour Soft balls, are there any others in that price range that I should consider. Not so keen on the harder feel balls like the Pro V1X and don't want to be spending £35+ for a box. Cheers

I have used the DT TRUE SOFT and this weekend tried the TOUR SOFT for 18 holes. I like both balls quite a bit however I felt that the TOUR SOFT gave me more feel and feedback when putting. I shot an incredible round with them. Spider Dubiel

Would you say the tour soft is softer than pro v1 for putting? How does velocity compare for feel when putting?

what i take into consideration when deciding what golf ball i like to use is the flight and how it reacts when i hit it. Also i would try that type and brand out to see if it is a reliable ball and if it is that is what i go with. But i like to use a softer ball because i think it is easier to control when i hit them right now i use Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x's but i have used Titleist NXT Tour Softs and those were also good golf balls that i used but i have seen previews on the new Titleist Tour Softs and i would like to try them out to see if they are the new kind of golf ball that i would be using

I want it all in a cost effective package. I've tried pro v's and the X, chromesoft X and this season (if it stops raining) I'm trying TP5 and the seed balls. Time will tell what I keep

Try Vice, or cut. they both have 3 and 4 piece balls with urethane covers for half the price of a pro v/x.

I'm a 5 hdcp but I switched to the Velocity from the Pro V1X for a few reasons. First was the fact that I find a lot more fairways with my driver. Second was the cost. Third I like the orange colored velocity for this time of year (easier to find). I'll trade off some short game spin for more second shots from the fairways. I am interested in trying the new tour soft though.

I wonder why putting is not included? The video is excellent and I do like the new tour soft - as long as I am not playing under regulations and can throw a pro V1 in front of my putter. B-series, chrome, projecta, and now T.soft all putt like a rubber super ball out of a quarter machine at the food market!?

Richard Lavigne yes, that's why I quit using the Trusoft... The velocity if a firmer putting ball. Thanks for the info on the Tour.

I really appreciate reviews that cover the mid-price equipment. For the recreational golfer with a higher handicap, price point figures significantly when buying golf equipment. Hence, there is a huge market out there that goes for mid-price golfing.

Its never too late. There has always been and always will be competition to create a better ball. Both companies make great balls. I have found the Titleist to be more durable and love the new Tour Soft. The true soft has a nice following too .

Okay. I want a ball that feels soft on all shots. Low spin on longer shots for straighter flights. And only enough spin only to shorten the roll out.
